Why is Obama talking about containment of ISIS and not annihilation of ISIS? The history of WW2 and Afghanistan might shed some light

Many in the media are questioning, why Obama is talking about forming an international coalition to contain ISIS and not defeat it. We can probably find an answer in analyzing the history of WW2 and the history of Afghan wars.
Many state that Hitler could have been defeated early on and the policy of appeasement led to Hitler’s expansion. I believe, this was not an appeasement, it was a conscious decision by the ruling oligarchy not to stop Hitler and let him expand and invade the Soviet Union. Hitler was seen as a tool for fighting the communist proliferation in Europe. Only when it was clear that Hitler lost and the Soviets had an upper hand and were advancing, did the US decide to land in Normandy and join the European war theater. Every country liberated by the US stayed in the market of free economies. Every country liberated by the Soviet Union was turned communist. There are some new publications, which show that that at least one or both of Dulles brothers were involved in this policy of using Hitler as a tool against the Soviets.
Case study #2. US actively supported the Mujahadden and Al Qaeda to fight Soviet proliferation in Afghanistan. Unfortunately for the U.S. Al Qaeda turned against its’ sponsor.
We know that there are reported meetings between John McCain and Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi (or whatever his real name is), the Caliph of the ISIS Caliphate. There were common goals between the U.S. and the so called “rebels” in Syria. U.S. sponsored the rebels for two reasons:
a. U.S. sought to overthrow the President of Syria Bashir al -Assad, who, just as his father Hafez al-Assad, had close ties with Russia. Additionally, support of Sunni caliphate was a counter force against Shiah majority in Iraq and most importantly Shiah Iran.
So, as long as ISIS operates against Assad and Rouhani, U.S. probably will not do anything.
I believe that the idea was to counter attack ISIS if it goes against the U.S. or U.S. allies, such as Kurds on the North, Lebanon and Israeli Golan Heights in the West and Jordan and further on Saudi Arabia and emirates on the South.
This might explain Obama’s statements of containment.
At issue is, whether Obama is really willing and able to contain ISIS.
Same facts suggest that he is playing both sides.
One can see the correlation and a perfect timing of ISIS going into the major offensive right after Obama released 5 top Taliban leaders from GITMO.
A very unsettling fact is not only in this release, but also the fact that one of these former detainees, Khairulla Kharakhwa, was known as a liaison between Taliban and Iran. Further Obama did not take any steps in protecting the homeland against ISIS. Obama keeps the US borders wide open and retaliates against the border patrol officers who are the whistle blowers. He, also, did not revoke the passports of American Muslims who went to Syria to fight the Taliban.
What is even more unsettling, is the fact that Obama recently sold 52 billion of sophisticated military equipment to Qatar, which is known for its’ support for ISS, Hamas, Boca Haram and other terrorist organizations.
While we understand the context of the meaning “containment” of ISIS, at issue is the fact that Obama might not be able and most importantly not willing to contain.

Suspicious Weapons Found In Laguna Niguel Home

LAGUNA NIGUEL (CNS) – Orange County sheriff’s investigators responding to a domestic violence report found 40 weapons, most of them rifles, grenades and “precursors to explosives” in a Laguna Niguel home today.  The photos in this story come from the OC Sheriff’s Twitter account.
Deputies went to the home at 25 Fairlane Road about 12:40 a.m. to handle a domestic violence report, Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said. A 56-year-old man at the home, whose name was not immediately released, was booked on suspicion of domestic violence, Hallock said. While they were at the home, Hallock said, investigators found the guns as well as grenades and military ordnance devices. The ordnance and grenades were later found to be inert, the lieutenant said.
Deputies also found substances and chemicals, which Hallock described as “precursors to explosives.” Investigators were trying to determine what the suspect intended to do with the weapons, if anything, and whether he had broken any laws regulating firearms or explosives.

House Republican Introduces Bill That Would Give President ‘Dictatorial Powers’ to Wage War

Following the clear failure of the ‘War on Terror’, launched by George W. Bush following 9/11, the US will re-up it’s efforts, which have only seemed to cause an increase in terror operations around the world.
Members of Congress, including many within the President’s own party, are looking for more blood to be spilled in the Middle East. The two main fronts in the ‘War on Terror’ have failed horribly. Iraq is now a failed state, where instability following the US backed installation then deposition of Saddam Hussein has served as a breeding ground for radical Islamists, angry at the West’s decades-long corporate imperialist designs on the region. Add to that horrible equation a government propped up by US and other foreign interests that alienated a large portion of the Iraqi people. A third of the country has now fallen to radical elements, despite GW and Obama declaring only a few years ago that Iraq was won.
Afghanistan, destined for a very similar fate, is already falling back into the hands of the Taliban — our Soviet era allies Reagan called “freedom fighters,” turned sworn enemies, turned quiet diplomatic partners. Yeah I know, it’s confusing. Read this article we posted earlier today for an in depth look at the origins of the Taliban and how America helped create them.
The war on terror has done nothing but increase the threat from terrorism. Whether from foreign policy blowback or forcing the decentralization of terror groups, the fact is that ISIS and many other groups are more emboldened and powerful than ever, despite trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives lost to combating them. Due to the US strategy of targeting leaders for assassination rather than taking the wind out of terror movements by understanding how and why they are able to recruit new fighters, America’s anti-terror tactics have only made terrorism harder to defeat. Every time a leader is assassinated in a drone strike, the organizations split and become autonomous, making them harder to find and to predict. But these clear foreign policy failures have not slowed down Congress’ and the Administration’s march towards war.
After America ruined Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and countless others, it’s now setting it’s sights on Syria, and to a lesser extent, Ukraine; both allies of Russia.
Here is where things begin to get scary. Congress is just about ready to cede it’s power to declare war. While this isn’t something new, considering the last time America actually declared war was in WWII, it will give dictatorial powers to the Executive Branch to throw the country into any war as long as it’s against some form of terrorism (which is a tactic, not a group, army, or country). According to legislation announced yesterday by Congressman Frank Wolf, it will authorize,
“to use all necessary and appropriate force against those countries, organizations, or persons associated with or supporting terrorist groups, including al Qaeda and its regional affiliates, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, al Shabaab, Boko Haram, and any other emerging regional terrorist groups that share a common violent extremist ideology with such terrorist groups, regional affiliates, or emerging terrorist groups, in order to eliminate all such terrorist groups and prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States or its allies by such terrorist groups, countries, organizations, or persons.”
This is a dangerous, open ended, ceding of control away from the people, and into the hands of the President and his unelected foreign policy “experts”.
This will effectively take Congress out of the equation of waging war as long as the Executive Branch says it’s against terrorism. But Rep. Frank Wolf goes even further. According to The Daily Caller,
He also plans to introduce legislation repealing the 1973 War Powers Resolution, which mandates that only Congress can declare war, and requires the president to notify Congress at least 48 hours before committing U.S. forces to military action. Wolf’s bill says that the resolution “has not worked as intended, and has added to the divisiveness and uncertainty that exists regarding the war powers of the President and Congress.”
This legislation, which is similar to a bill proposed by war monger in chief John McCain earlier this year, will essentially remove all war powers from representatives and turn the President into a de facto emperor on foreign policy.
While most presidents since WWII have committed treason by blatantly ignoring the War Powers Act, there now seems to be an appetite in Congress to repeal the act and make waging unjust wars even easier for the President and his advisers.
Obama already violated the War Powers Act when he unilaterally toppled the Libyan government headed by Gaddafi, and we all see how well that worked out.
Americans should get serious about politicians violating the constitution such as that War Powers Act and have these ‘leaders’ prosecuted to fullest extent of the law. The consequence if we don’t will in all likelihood result in WWIII and millions more dead innocent people.
In the short term, this renewed push in the corporate media and the government for more war on terror should be resisted by every American. It has already been admitted that there is no strategy to combat ISIS; and the best prospects for peace in Iraq, as we have noted before, is to allow Iraqis to form an organic resistance to these ISIS brutes. Any US intervention, as seen in every single anti-terror operation we’ve been involved in the past two decades, will only result in more instability and more of a threat of terrorism. Not to mention more Americans dead and billions more in debt.

Chechen leader, Putin pal vows to crush ISIS after threat against Russia

Chechen leader, Putin pal vows to crush ISIS after threat against Russia

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, himself a Muslim, vows to destroy Islamic State fighters who threatened his land and ally Vladimir Putin. (Reuters)
The latest recipients of an Islamic State threat are responding in kind, with Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov vowing that "these bastards" will be "destroyed."
Kadyrov, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, went on an Instagram rant after Islamic State posted a video threatening Putin over his support for Syria's Bashar al-Assad and vowing to liberate Chechnya. The Muslim strongman, who has fought Islamic militants in his backyard for years, seemed to take special umbrage at a threat aimed at his patron in Moscow.
"I state with full responsibility that the one who had the idea to express a threat to Russia and say the name of the president of the country Vladimir Putin, will be destroyed, where he did it," Kadyrov seethed. "I emphasize that they finish their days under the hot sun in Syria and Iraq, and in the first instant of death meet their eternal flames of Hell. Allahu Akbar!"
"I emphasize that they finish their days under the hot sun in Syria and Iraq, and in the first instant of death meet their eternal flames of Hell. Allahu Akbar!"- Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov
The video that incensed Kadyrov showed Islamic State fighters cavorting around Russian fighter planes sent to Assad by the Kremlin but seized when Islamic State overran Syria's Tabqa airport.
In the video, which was posted and translated by Middle East Media Research Institute, a fighter refers to Kadyrov as a Putin puppet. Kadyrov responded on Instagram by saying "these bastards have no relation to Islam," and vowing if they try to threaten Russia or Chechnya "you will be destroyed."
"I want to remind everyone who is planning something against our country, that Russia has worthy sons, ready to fulfill any order, wring the neck of any enemy in his own lair, wherever he may be," Kadyrov wrote. "And we find ourselves with happiness ridding the world of these scum."
The threat against Russia and Chechnya came as an Israel-based intelligence news service claimed that the Saudi, British and Australian governments have "credible information" that Islamic State and Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula have plans to launch a coordinated attack around the time of the Sept. 11 anniversary.
DEBKAfile reported that unnamed "counterterrorism sources" say the groups are preparing to hit in the Middle East and somewhere in western Europe. According to the site, the militants are holding off on planning an attack on the U.S. for now. ISIS operates in Iraq and Syria, while AQAP is based in Yemen.
The report comes after a second American journalist was executed by the Islamic State.
So far, U.S. officials have said they are not aware of any plots against the U.S. at this stage, though they have the potential to target the U.S. and Europe using western passport holders.
Matt Olsen, outgoing director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said Wednesday there is no indication of any Islamic State cells in the U.S., "full stop."
But he said the group poses a "multi-faceted threat to the United States."

JORDAN CALLS UPON INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO "PROTECT THE TEMPLE MOUNT AND ITS GATES"

This is just like saying that Washington, DC is off limits to ALL Americans! ONLY WORSE.
JORDAN CALLS UPON INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO "PROTECT THE TEMPLE MOUNT AND ITS GATES"
On Sunday Jordan called upon international organizations such as the UN, Unesco and the Security Council to take measures to prevent Israel from "causing damage to al Aqsa" (the Temple Mount).
The government of Jordan consistently objects to any Jewish presence on the Temple Mount and consistently calls upon International bodies to prevent Israel from creating any change in the current "status quo" on or around the Mount. The Muslim Waqf which has been entrusted with the daily administration of the Temple Mount is under the jurisdiction of Jordan. Over the past twenty years the Waqf has wantonly destroyed archaeological remnants of the first and second Temples and has engaged in an aggressive campaign denying the historical existence of the Holy Temple, claiming that the Temple Mount, (al Aqsa, as they call it), is an exclusively Muslim site from the beginning of time. Jordan signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994.
Israel is currently renovating the wooden ramp that leads from the Western Wall Plaza to the Mugrabi Gate entrance to the Temple Mount. The ramp and Mugrabi Gate are used exclusively by Jews and non-Muslim tourists, as it is the only gate through which non-Muslims are allowed access to the Temple Mount. Muslims have access to the Temple Mount via ten separate gates.
The wooden ramp leading to the Mugrabi Gate was originally built in 2007, following a 2004 earthquake and snow storm which caused the collapse of the earthen ramp which had been in use until then. The wooden ramp was intended to be a temporary solution. Plans were drawn up for a permanent ramp after painstaking archaeological exploration guaranteed that no archaeological remnants would be damaged.
When Israel announced the beginning of the construction of the new permanent ramp the government of Jordan called upon Israel to stop construction immediately and threatened regional violence if Israel proceeded with the work. Israel acquiesced and the temporary wooden ramp became permanent. Two years ago the city of Jerusalem condemned the wooden ramp declaring it unsafe.
Israel has recently begun constructing a new wooden ramp to replace the current ramp. The new ramp is being built alongside the old ramp. The ramp extends over an area that Israel has previously excavated and opened to the public. The new ramp does not threaten any of the archaeology in the area.
Photos show new wooden ramp under construction.

John Boehner: Obama 'sowed seeds' of current foreign policy crises

John Boehner: Obama 'sowed seeds' of current foreign policy crises

By |
House Speaker John Boehner was highly critical President Obama's foreign policy during an interview Tuesday, blaming the White House for sowing the seeds of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
The Ohio Republican, speaking to his colleague, Rep. John Campbell, R-Calif., who was guest-hosting Hugh Hewitt's conservative talk radio program, suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin never would have invaded Ukraine while George W. Bush was in the White House.
Boehner also said that Obama's failure to develop a strategy to confront and defeat ISIS was responsible for the gains made by the Islamic extremist movement.
The speaker signaled that the Republican-controlled House might need to act to grant Obama additional authority to act militarily against ISIS, but that that is dependent upon what, if any, strategy the president settles on.
Boehner spoke to Campbell by telephone on the tail end of a campaign-style bus tour that has taken him to more than a dozen states and House districts during Congress' summer recess. The interview came on the same day that Obama headed overseas for crucial meetings with world leaders on how to address crises in Ukraine and elsewhere.
Following is a partial transcript of Boehner's interview as provided by the Hewitt show:
On Russia's invasion of Ukraine: "The President and NATO need to make clear to Putin that we are not going to tolerate their continued incursions into Ukraine. Listen, the seeds of what we’re seeing today were sown by the president five years ago when he did his 'apology' tour, when he went to Europe and he went to the Middle East and apologized for America being strong and America leading. The world wants us to lead. And when he sent this signal, he sent the message out to all the goofballs around the world that if they wanted to go poach, it was fine with him. Now, does anybody think that Vladimir Putin would have gone into Crimea had George W. Bush been president?"
On the rise of ISIS: "I think, under existing authorizations from the Congress, he has the ability to do this in Iraq. It’s, I think it’s questionable whether he has the authority to do this in Syria. You know, the threat from ISIS goes back well over a year. And the crisis in Syria’s been going on now for over two years. And we’ve asked the president, asked the president, 'what is your strategy to deal with Syria?' And clearly, there’s no strategy that’s developed there. But when ISIS came across the Iraqi border in January, you know, I asked the question: 'Mr. President, where is the strategy to deal with the growing Islamic threat?' -- because it’s not just Syria, and it’s not just Iraq. This goes from Libya to Gaza to Lebanon to Syria and Iraq. All of these countries are basically under control of Islamic terrorists who are hellbent on killing Americans, as we saw once again today."
On seeking additional authorization from Congress: "The president has provided the notification of some of these strikes, even in Iraq, because there’s some ambiguity there in terms of how much authority in Iraq did he have. But if he’s going after ISIS, he would have, I think he would have to provide a war powers notification to the Congress. And then it would be up to the House to make a decision about whether we dealt with the issue or not ... I think it’s the president’s responsibility to outline to the American people how we’re going to deal with this problem. It is not going to go away. Its intent, their intent, is to kill Americans at home and abroad, and we either deal with this head-on and eliminate this threat, or continue to put Americans at risk."
