Reports: Okla. beheading suspect linked to al-Qaeda leader, CAIR-associated Imam
On Saturday, Terror Trends Bulletin, citing reports at Breitbart.com, said Alton Nolen, the suspect in a grisly beheading in Moore, Oklahoma,
has "direct and indirect" ties to prominent Islamic figures in the
United States. The mosque attended by Nolen, aka Jah’Keem Yisrael, was
once led by Suhaib Webb, an Imam with ties to former al-Qaeda mastermind
Anwar al-Awlaki, Breitbart reported.
The mosque Nolen attended, the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, is affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America, Terror Trends Bulletin said. ISNA, Christopher Holton reported, was outed as a Muslim Brotherhood front and was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial.
When ISNA tried to get that designation removed, Holton added, the judge refused, saying the designation was accurate and proper. Were it not for the influence of Attorney General Eric Holder, who shut down the investigation, ISNA may have been prosecuted for terror charges.
In a YouTube video posted last October, Webb attacked human rights activist Aayan Hirsi Ali and called for an Islamic-dominated society while speaking at a CAIR event. He is now affiliated with the Islamic Society of Boston, a mosque with ties to the Boston Marathon bomber and the terror group ISIS. Webb, Charles Jacobs said at the Jewish Advocate last year, “teaches vicious hatred and calls for young Muslims to engage in Jihad against non-Muslims in order to establish a global Islamic state.”
Three weeks before allegedly beheading a former co-worker, Nolen took a picture of himself in front of the Oklahoma mosque where Webb once worked. The caption on his Facebook page read: “At The Masjid (Mosque)Today For Jumar 9/5/2014 & Peforming (sic) Wudu!!!”
CAIR, Holton said, has distanced itself from Nolen. Adam Soltani of CAIR-Oklahoma, said “Islam stands clearly opposed to violence in any kind and in no way could or faith ever support the actions of this man.” But a group of Muslims were heard shouting "praise Allah" after a press conference on the beheading.
Holton, however, wasn't convinced by Soltani, saying that "available evidence, dating back 1400 years to the earliest origins of Islamic doctrine to the actions of literally dozens of Jihadist organizations on every continent, save Antarctica, contradicts this ridiculous statement by Soltani." Islamic jihadists around the world have used beheading as a preferred method of execution, Holton said, calling the Oklahoma attack "anything but isolated."
He cited the beheadings of Daniel Pearl, James Foley, Steven Sotloff, David Haines and Herve Gourdel as examples. ISIS terrorists have beheaded so many that children play with the severed heads.
"There are many ways to kill someone," he said. "But Muslim jihadis choose to behead their victims."
The reason is quite simple. Islamic doctrine, Holton added, "says that they should." Meanwhile, authorities have not confirmed the motivation for the murder, but the FBI is reportedly probing to see if Nolen's conversion to Islam may have played a role.
