New Black Panther hopes Zimmerman is killed in prison [VIDEO]

Chuck Ross
SANFORD, Fla. – At least one member of the New Black Panther party hopes George Zimmerman is found guilty and murdered in prison.
“Anything less than death for George Zimmerman is not justice,” Kojo Kayrallah told The Daily Caller Friday afternoon. Kayrallah, who identified himself as the Chief of Staff for the state of Florida said he and his group were here in Sanford seeking “justice for Trayvon.”
When asked if death in prison was satisfactory, Kayrallah said “praise be to God.”
The New Black Panther Party protested in front of Seminole County Courthouse along with several other groups on Friday as the six-person jury began deliberating Zimmerman’s fate. He can be convicted of either second-degree murder or manslaughter for the shooting death of Martin.
Brother James Muhammad also spoke to The Daily Caller saying “we’re not advocating any acts of violence against anyone in prison or out of prison.” But he added that there’s “always that possibility” that a “child killer” would face that fate of death behind bars.
Muhammad told the Daily Caller that he’d been invited to multiple protests by the Martin family and their family attorney Benjamin Crump. The group had associations with other civil rights leaders including Al Sharpton and his brother Kenneth Glasgow. “We came, and we supported,” said Muhammad of their visits to Sanford last year.
Kayrallah is part of the NBPP faction out of Jacksonville who issued a citizen’s arrest order and placed a $10,000 bounty on George Zimmerman’s head — “dead or alive” — last year before his arrest.
If Zimmerman is convicted of second-degree murder he faces at least 25 years in prison. A manslaughter conviction carries a 30 year maximum pena

My Dinner With the Muslim Brotherhood

My Dinner With the Muslim Brotherhood

The evening call to prayer signals sundown and the time to break fast on the first day of Ramadan. Two trucks arrive in Cairo's Tahrir Square, loaded with Iftar meals for the protesters who remain here to defend what they see as their revived revolution.
A small, rough crowd swarms the trucks. There are a lot of jumpy street kids, here for the excitement and perhaps the free meal; a few crazies (one carries around a banner describing the Muslim Brotherhood as ``the garbage Egypt burned,'' among more personal insults for individual Islamist leaders); and a small core of activists, including the Egyptian movie director Khaled Youssef.
Youssef, who organized the meals and is making a movie about the revolution, tells me the protesters will have to stay here "until the revolution is secure.'' That could be a long time. He shrugs. One indication that the revolution is on track will be the shape of the new transitional government, which has to include people who agree with the street movement, he says. Another sign will be when the Muslim Brotherhood's supporters, who are staging similar sit-ins across town, go home.
``We can't have Tahrir empty while they are protesting. It doesn't work,'' says Youssef. Still, for now this feels like a hollowed-out street movement that has served its purpose. Power has shifted from the street to the military, and the millions who turned out to protest against former President Mohamed Mursi are celebrating the beginning of Ramadan at home with their families.
Asked why he trusts the military now, when just a year ago they represented the enemy, Youssef has two answers. First, the army has different leaders now. A younger generation of generals has replaced the old ones, who ran the country so disastrously after the 2011 removal of former Hosni Mubarak. Secondly, these new generals ``stood up to America.''
``What happened in this revolution isn't that the military stood up to Mursi, the people did that,'' he says. ``What the military did was to stand up to America, which only a few days before told them not to intervene. The military chose the people over the U.S.''
President Barack Obama isn't terribly popular across town either, where Mursi supporters are also breaking their fast. The atmosphere here, in front of Cairo University, is very different from Tahrir. The crowd is much larger. It is a family affair, with kids running around and large numbers of women strolling or sitting on picnic blankets. Some are clad in hijab headscarves, others in niqabs, the black habits that leave just slits for their eyes. Only the youngest girls are uncovered.
It is much calmer here. When the call to prayer sounds again, the adults form orderly lines to pray, men and women separate. The kids go on playing, raucously.
``We get shot at, and we are called terrorists … What did we do?'' asks Mohamed Anwar, a 40-year-old carpenter who is clearly bewildered by the recent turn of events. ``There are rules of democracy that are accepted all around the world, but they don't apply to us. The U.S. support our military and make them strong against us -- but you won't do the same in your own country. Why is that?''
The hurt and grievance Anwar feels is exacerbated by the fact that he and his movement had to go through an intense debate to accept electoral democracy in the first place. There are three verses in the Koran that explain why the correct way to rule is by God's word, and rule by men is "corrupt'' and "unjust,'' he says. He goes on to explain how only a machine's maker can write the instruction manual, not the user. Ruling is the same: God made the world, so he writes the rules.
"We never believed in democracy,'' Anwar says.
His friend Walid Shaarawi objects. Another verse in the Koran enshrines democracy through the idea of a "shura'' council, where rulers go to consult, he says. Islam and democracy are completely compatible, it's wrong to say they aren't. The men work together. It is evident that this is a debate they've had many times before.
"When we saw the majority of the people wanted democracy, we gave into the will of the people temporarily, for the good of the country,'' says Anwar. "We accepted the rules. Mursi made mistakes perhaps, but he didn't break the rules. He didn't steal, he didn't falsify any elections.''
They are hurt, too, by the way so many Egyptians turned against the Brotherhood and its government. They describe how Egypt's news media spewed constant lies to demonize the Brotherhood and turn people against Mursi, and how the old regime bureaucracy blocked the former president at every turn so he would fail. Now that old regime is back in the open, they say. Literally, the police are back in the streets for the first time since 2011.
A youngster who has stopped to listen shows the bullet wound he received through his thigh, exiting his buttock, when police attacked the square last week. He's limping, but clearly proud of the injuries -- he keeps the photographs on his iPhone.
Egyptians like these have no obvious recourse. The Brotherhood's sole aim is to see Mursi restored to the presidency, which won't happen. They say their movement, which may include as many as 30 million Egyptians, won't take part in future elections otherwise. They say they will use only peaceful means, but the rhetoric of the movement's supporters and leaders is laced with talk of sacrifice.
"We will stay here until Mursi is reinstated or we die,'' says Shaarawi. "We won't live in a police state again.''

Meat industry doesn’t want to tell you where your meat comes from

Where did it come from?
Multinational meat medley, anybody?
Industry groups are suing the U.S. government because they don’t want to have to tell you the origins of your meat.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture implemented new rules in May that require packages of meat to be sold with labels that identify the country in which the animal was born, raised, and slaughtered. The rules also outlaw the mixing of cuts of meat from different countries in the same package. That pleased food-safety advocates, environmentalists, and some farmers.
But it angered large meat importers and producers and grocery chains. On Tuesday, some of those groups announced they were suing to have the rules overturned. From the AP:
The American Meat Institute, a trade group for packers, processors, and suppliers, and seven other groups said segregating the meat is not part of the law Congress passed and the USDA is overstepping its authority. They also claim the rule will be costly to implement and that it offers no food safety or public health benefit.

“Segregating and tracking animals according to the countries where production steps occurred and detailing that information on a label may be a bureaucrat’s paperwork fantasy, but the labels that result will serve only to confuse consumers, raise the prices they pay, and put some producers and meat and poultry companies out of business in the process,” Mark Dopp, an AMI executive, said in a statement.
The USDA says the country of original labeling, known as COOL, will help consumers make informed decisions about the food they buy. …
Other advocates of the new rule say segregating meat will help if a food safety issue develops.
So enjoy knowing where your grocery-story beef comes from, while you can. It might soon return to being mystery meat.

Mexican Man Fakes Death To Avoid Gang Rape Charge Before Getting Elected As Mayor

A Mexican man who was wanted on rape charges purportedly faked his own death only to run –and get elected– as mayor of a village in the southern part of the country.
Authorities say relatives of Lenin Carballido used a death certificate showing that he died of a diabetic coma in 2010 to convince police to drop an arrest warrant against him for allegedly participating in a 2004 gang rape.
A living Carballido later ran in, and narrowly won, Sunday's election in San Agustin Amatengo in Oaxaca state. In his campaign, he posted photos of himself all around the village of 1,400 residents, with slogans like "Now is the Time" and "United for Development."
But shortly after his victory, the death certificate surfaced with his full name of Leninguer Carballido.
Officials in Oaxaca said Thursday that the certificate had been drawn up and signed by a public registry official, but that the information had been faked.
Carballido's party, the leftist Democratic Revolution Party, known as the PRD, said it had been fooled by the candidate.
"When he registered as a candidate, he presented all his paperwork, his birth certificate, a letter stating he had no criminal record," said Rey Morales, the state leader of the PRD. "He fooled the prosecutors' office, he fooled the office of records, he fooled electoral officials."
"If all this is true, he cannot take office as mayor," said Morales.
Carballido didn't answer his cellphone Thursday.
Haydee Reyes Soto, the director of the Oaxaca public records office, said the registry official who drew up the fake death certificate used a real official form, signed it and stamped it with an official seal, and even listed it under a file number used to record a real death.
"The form is real, what is false is the information," Reyes Soto said, adding "the decision has already been made to fire" the official, Abel de la Rosa Santos, who is also being questioned by prosecutors.
According to records, a woman accused of Carballido and four other men of having raped her in Oaxaca city in 2004.
Mayra Ricardez, spokeswoman for the Oaxaca state prosecutors' office, said the arrest warrant against Carballido was "never served, because his family showed officers a false death certificate."
Ricardez said the statute of limitations had not run out on the crime.
"The prosecutors' office is taking all the legal steps necessary to revive the case and serve the arrest warrant that is still pending," she said.
It seems unlikely that Carballido will be able to take office in San Agustin Amatengo, an impoverished village near the city of Oaxaca where many residents left in the 2000s to seek work in the United States and elsewhere.
One San Agustin Amatengo official, who said he could not speak on the record about a criminal case, said residents hadn't been aware of the candidate's past.
"All of this came out after the elections were over," the official said.
On Thursday, the Oaxaca state prosecutors' office issued a statement saying it would do everything it could to put him in jail, even if he is formally sworn in as mayor, and was considering whether he might also face charges on election-law violations.
"The state attorney general's office will investigate and bring charges, even if the suspect is recognized by electoral authorities as a municipal authority," the office said, referring to him by his full name, Leninguer Raymundo Carballido Morales. He ran for office simply as "Lenin Carballido."

Teachers 'denied schoolboy, 10, water on the hottest day of the year to avoid upsetting Muslim pupils during Ramadan'

  • Kora Blagden claims her son was told he could not drink water
  • She says teacher told him it could be unfair to fasting classmates

An angry mother has accused a primary school of denying her child water on one of the hottest days of the year for fear of upsetting pupils observing Ramadan.
Kora Blagden, 32, claimed a teacher at her son Luke’s school refused to let the 10-year old drink from his water bottle because it was unfair to fasting classmates.
Many pupils at Charles Dickens Primary School, Portsmouth, Hampshire, are fasting during Ramadan, which means they refrain from taking food or water between sunrise and sunset for around 30 days, depending on the moon.

Mother-of-four Kora said: 'Just before bedtime me and my sons Luke, ten, and Alfie, eight, were talking about Ramadan as we had seen it on the news.
'Luke said to me he was told he wasn’t allowed to drink in class by his teacher.
'The reason being, a child who is fasting had a headache and the teacher said it would be unfair if the other children drank in front of the pupil.
'They normally have their bottles on their table but they were kept in a tray by the teacher.
'He went along with it but he was thirsty and didn’t want to offend the other children.
'Alfie said he was allowed to drink in the morning but not in the afternoon.

'Luke was dehydrated when he got home and drunk three glasses of water straight away.'
The teacher made the ruling on Thursday when temperatures soared to 28C.
Ms Blagden confronted deputy head Lisa Florence before lessons began today and was given a verbal apology for the incident.
'The deputy head said it was not what they had been told to do and it is only what children of Muslim faith do'
- Kora Blagden
She said: 'I spoke to the deputy head and told them what Luke had said to me and I asked why this was allowed.
'She said it wasn’t fair my son was refused a drink in lesson and therefore drank nothing in lesson time all day.
'She said they will be speaking with Luke and the teacher, and stated she was sorry my children felt they could not drink.
'The deputy head said it was not what they had been told to do and it is only what children of Muslim faith do.
'I have no problem with that but I don’t wish my sons to be told they can’t drink water.
'Personally I think it is very wrong.'
Charles Dickens is an inner-city school just streets away from the birthplace of the world-famous author of the same name.
The school said there was no ban on children from other religions having food and drink during Ramadan but refused to comment on this individual case.
Portsmouth City Council, which runs the 300-pupil school, also declined to comment.

ALERT: New Black Panthers Planning “Rallies And Street Maneuvers” For Zimmerman Verdict…

AP
AP
(THE WASHINGTON TIMES) -- New Black Panther Party members are prepping for rallies and gatherings in the wake of the George Zimmerman murder trial, but are coy on whether violence, riots and other chaotic outbursts are potential — or welcome — offshoots of those events.
On one hand, NBPP members promise on their Twitter site that they will not engage in any sort of unlawful outbursts if second-degree murder suspect George Zimmerman’s trial ends in a not-guilty verdict.
The pertinent tweet: “All over the nation in case Zimmerman is exonerated … we will engage in no unlawful activity.”
But on the other hand, the group’s Twitter site is alive and kicking with fresh updates about a planned Sept. 7 rally to show solidarity with 17-year-old shooting victim Trayvon Martin — complete with admissions: “We can’t and WON’T try to control the general dissatisfied population. For sure we are ORGANIZING.”
That tweet included a photo of a flier for the NBPP’s Millions for Trayvon youth march, set for early September at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building in New York.
And at least one member of the NBPP has headed down to the Florida site of Mr. Zimmerman’s trial — to do what, isn’t specified.
The tweet: “I’ll be making my way to Florida for post-verdict activities. Can’t sit this one out.”
A series of tweets posted in the same time frame reference the potential for post-trial violence — and the NBPP’s attitude toward that likelihood.
“If Zimmerman is acquitted there is likely to be unrest all over America. It will be way beyond the capacity of the NBPP,” the tweet read. Continue reading via The Washington Times...

Obama Fires Head Of Department Of Homeland Security

NOT TO SAD FOR ME I THINK SHE WAS A RETARD

I THINK WHO WILL OBAMA PUT IN PLACE IS ISLAMIC BET ME ON THAT

Kristin Tate

With the multiple scandals currently engulfing the White House, it seems as though there is more bad news each day. Today, however, we bring you some good news: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will resign today.
Napolitano is the first woman to ever hold the position. And as you may know, she is one of the mst progressive Democrats in government.
Napolitano was largely responsible for some of the most sizable government power-grabs of our generation. To name just a one example, she allowed the DHS to spy on veterans.
janet-napolitano
Here is Napolitano’s statement regarding her resignation:
“For more than four years I have had the privilege of serving President Obama and his Administration as the Secretary of Homeland Security. The opportunity to work with the dedicated men and women of the Department of Homeland Security, who serve on the frontlines of our nation’s efforts to protect our communities and families from harm, has been the highlight of my professional career. We have worked together to minimize threats of all kinds to the American public. The Department has improved the safety of travelers; implemented smart steps that make our immigration system more fair and focused while deploying record resources to protect our nation’s borders; worked with states to build resiliency and make our nation’s emergency and disaster response capabilities more robust; and partnered with the private sector to improve our cybersecurity. After four plus years of focusing on these challenges, I will be nominated as the next President of the University of California to play a role in educating our nation’s next generation of leaders. I thank President Obama for the chance to serve our nation during this important chapter in our history, and I know the Department of Homeland Security will continue to perform its important duties with the honor and focus that the American public expects.”
Barack Obama also put out a statement about Napolitano’s decision:
“I want to thank Secretary Napolitano for her outstanding work on behalf of the American people over the last four years.  At the Department of Homeland Security, Janet’s portfolio has included some of the toughest challenges facing our country.  She’s worked around the clock to respond to natural disasters, from the Joplin tornado to Hurricane Sandy, helping Americans recover and rebuild. Since day one, Janet has led my administration’s effort to secure our borders, deploying a historic number of resources, while also taking steps to make our immigration system fairer and more consistent with our values.  And the American people are safer and more secure thanks to Janet’s leadership in protecting our homeland against terrorist attacks. I’ve come to rely on Janet’s judgment and advice, but I’ve also come to value her friendship.  And as she begins a new chapter in a remarkable career of public service, I wish her the best of luck.”

Napolitano is leaving her government post to become the president of the University of California system.
Sherry Lansing, the regent who headed the UC president search committee, said, “While some may consider her to be an unconventional choice, Secretary Napolitano is without a doubt the right person at the right time to lead this incredible university. She will bring fresh eyes and a new sensibility — not only to UC, but to all of California. She will stand as a vigorous advocate for faculty, students and staff at a time when great changes in our state, and across the globe, are presenting as many opportunities as challenges.”
Good — let them have her! Napolitano is an extreme progressive, and belongs in liberal academia (as opposed to government, where her leftist views are forced onto citizens).

New Black Panthers: “Unrest All Over America” if Zimmerman Acquitted

Extremist group: “It can never be called a riot – it’s a rebellion”

The extremist New Black Panthers Party has predicted “unrest all over America” if George Zimmerman is acquitted, although the group denied that it was organizing riots in light of claims its leader had vowed to burn down white communities.
Image: New Black Panthers
A quote being attributed to New Black Panthers leader Samir Shabazz by numerous Internet sites states, “This time we’re doing it right… This time we’re not burning down our communities. This time we’re going out to Whitey’s suburbs and burning down HIS community. We’re going to make Whitey feel the pain.”
There appears to be no primary evidence that Shabazz actually made that statement, although he has previously made vile threats about murdering white people.
According to the group’s Twitter feed, it will “engage in no unlawful activity” in response to the verdict, but the organization also states, “We can’t and WON’T try to control the general dissatisfied population. For sure we are ORGANIZING.” The group is also planning “rallies and street maneuvers” but refuses to provide details
In another tweet, the group comments that there is “a HIGH chance of rebellion across the nation if Zimmerman is acquitted on all charges,” in addition to another message which states, “If Zimmerman is acquitted there is likely to be unrest all over America, It will be way beyond the capacity of the NBPP.”
“For the record whatever God moves Black People to do after the verdict, it can never be called a riot – it’s a rebellion,” states another tweet.
Other rumors are circulating that the Panthers are transporting busloads of agitators into the town of Sanford in order to stir up trouble, although evidence for this doesn’t seem to extend beyond unsubstantiated claims being made on the Internet.
Members of the original Black Panther party have insisted the NBPP is illegitimate and has no connection with its predecessor. The NBPP, founded in 1989, is classified by the Anti-Defamation League, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights as a hate group. The organization is noted for its ability to draw large numbers of people out to protest.
In March last year, the NBPP offered a $10,000 bounty for the capture of George Zimmerman. When Mikhail Muhammad was asked if he was inciting violence he responded, “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.”
Thousands of Trayvon Martin supporters have vowed to riot, loot and attack white people if Zimmerman is found not guilty, prompting authorities to prepare for civil unrest.
Although nobody wants to see violence in the aftermath of the Zimmerman verdict, labeling preparation for unrest by police racist, as Time Magazine did yesterday, is clearly naive and dangerous given what happened during the 1992 LA riots. Read More

43 trillion dollar law suit against multiple banks was dismissed in December of last year

Posted on | July 12, 2013 | No Comments
I keep receiving e-mails and comments in regards to the 43 trillion dollar law suit filed by Attorney James Fiedler against multiple banks and multiple employees of the federal government
I am posting an update, so people can stop mailing me questions about this case.
It was filed in the state court of NY. The banks transferred it to the Federal court in NY.One of the banks sought to transfer the case to CA.  Presiding judge in NY dismissed the case against all plaintiffs aside from the named plaintiff Deborah Abeel and he transferred her case to CA.  The moment the case was transferred, Abeel dismissed it without prejudice, meaning  it was not decided on the merits. The plaintiffs and their attorneys were not paid anything. If they would have been paid anything, part of the agreement would have been dismissal with prejudice meaning it was decided on the merits.
The law suit looked big and bombastic, but it was very short lived.   It is indeed a very difficult undertaking to go against the federal government and so many banks.  Docket is attached Docket Abeel et al v Bof A et al

BARACK OBAMA

Obama signs executive order to allow shut down of all US communications

Obama signs executive order to allow shut down of all US communications

RT had reported that in a secretly unannounced move, President Barack Obama signed an executive order giving the Department of Homeland Security the ability to shut down all of the United States' communications systems upon his request. Barack Obama laid out a statement he titled "Assignment of National Security Emergency Preparedness Communications Function". No doubt a very confusing title. The reasoning behind his issuing of this executive order, is that he feels the government may one day need to access all of our telephones, computers, cable communications, etc., in the name of national security.
"The Federal Government must have the ability to communicate at all times and under all circumstances to carry out its most critical and time sensitive mission."
The American public should be concerned about what this "mission" could be. In a presidential election, one candidate's mission may not be the same as his opponents. RT quotes the president as saying:
"Such communications must be possible under all circumstances to ensure national security, effectively manage emergencies and improve national security.."
The fact that our nation needs so much "national security" is puzzling, given the fact that President Obama has declared himself leader of the front that has ended terrorism in the U.S. It seems like now, more than ever, our nation is in peril according to the State Department; but many U.S. citizens are asking themselves, "From what?", or better yet, "From who?"
According to Obama, the items of confiscation, or shut down can include: wireline, wireless, satellite, cable, broadcasting, internet, and other key information systems. Never in United States' history has a president given himself the authority to shut down the entire nation and immobilize the citizenry.
The public has been alerted recently that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been buying an excessive amount of weaponry and ammunitions; inclusive of hallow point bullets. DHS has also been given authority to "supervise" some protests throughout the nation. Tea Party groups have had several organized and peaceful protests circled by Department of Homeland Security officers, leading many to believe that DHS has been given the authority to intimidate as well.
If you combine bullets with nationwide immobilizing of all communications, the power given unto the government, is a power our founding fathers never foresaw, nor wished.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently announced that they had already used drones on Americans for surveillance. This is just one step closer to American's journey towards a police state.
UPDATE
Public Intelligence (July 9, 2013) has acquired copies of some security agreements between communications providers and different U.S. government organizations.
The agreements give the ability to access data when legally requested. According to Public Intelligence, the agreements require companies to maintain...
"....what amounts to an 'internal corporate cell of American citizens with government clearances' ensuring that 'when U.S. government agencies seek access to the massive amounts of data flowing through their networks, the companies have systems in place to provide it securely'.”

Little known search engine that refuses to store data on users doubles web traffic amid NSA tapping scandal

  • DuckDuckGo, based in Pennsylvania, does not share user data with sites
  • This means fewer advertisements and results that are not skewed for users
  • Firm saw web traffic double in the wake of Snowden NSA tapping leak
By Helen Collis

Web-users who want to protect their privacy have been switching to a small unheard of search engine in the wake of the 'Prism' revelations.
DuckDuckGo, the little known U.S. company, sets itself aside from its giant competitors such as Google and Yahoo, by not sharing any of its clients' data with searched websites. This means no targeted advertising and no skewed search results.
Aside from the reduced ads, this unbiased and private approach to using the internet is appealing to users angered at the news that U.S. and UK governments (the National Security Agency (NSA) in the U.S. and GCHQ in the UK), have direct access to the servers of big search engine companies, allowing them to 'watch' users.
At just 33, DuckDuckGo founder and CEO, Gabriel Weinberg has tapped into a niche market - offering Internet users real privacy when searching the world wide web
At just 33, DuckDuckGo founder and CEO, Gabriel Weinberg has tapped into a niche market - offering Internet users real privacy when searching the world wide web
Within just two weeks of the NSA's operations being leaked by former employee Edward Snowden, DuckDuckGo's traffic had doubled - from serving 1.7million searches a day, to 3million.
'We started seeing an increase right when the story broke, before we were covered in the press,' said Gabriel Weinberg, founder and CEO, speaking to The Guardian.
Entrepreneur Mr Weinberg had the idea for the company in 2006,  while taking time out to do a stained-glass making course. He had just sold successful start-up Opobox, similar to Friends Reunited, for $10million (£6.76million) to Classmates.com.

While on the course he realised that the teacher's 'useful web links' did not tally up with Google's search results, and realised the extent of the personalised skewing of results per user.
From there he had the idea to develop a 'better' search engine, that does not share any user information with any websites whatsoever.
Search data, he told the paper, 'is arguably the most personal data people are entering into anything. You're typing in your problems, your desires. It's not the same as things you post publicly on a social network.'
DuckDuckGo, named after an American children's tag game Duck Duck Goose (though not a metaphor), was solo-founded by Mr Weinberg in 2008, in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
He self-funded it until 2011 when Union Square Ventures, which also backs Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare and Kickstarter, and a handful of angel investors, came on board.
Leak impact: It appears to some, privacy really does matter
Leak impact: It appears to some, privacy really does matter, as DuckDuckGo's user-figures show. Just two weeks after the June 6 revelations, searchers were up 90 per cent
The team  has expanded to a few full-time people, many part-time contributors and a bunch of open-source contributors.
'If you're wondering how you would turn that into a verb...Duck it!' he says on the company website.
The 33-year-old CEO, who lives in Paoli, a suburb of Philadelphia, PA, with his wife and two children, explains that when other search engines are used, your search terms are sent to that site you clicked on; this sharing of information is known as 'search leakage'.
'For example, when you search for something private, you are sharing that private search not only with your search engine, but also with all the sites that you clicked on (for that search),' he points out on his website.
'In addition, when you visit any site, your computer automatically sends information about it to that site (including your User agent and IP address). This information can often be used to identify you directly.
'So when you do that private search, not only can those other sites know your search terms, but they can also know that you searched it. It is this combination of available information about you that raises privacy concerns,' he says.

Within two weeks of NSA's operations being leaked by former employee Edward Snowden (pictured), DuckDuckGo's traffic had doubled - from 1.7million searches a day to 3million
The company offers a search engine, like Google, but which does not traffic users, which has less spam and clutter, that showcases 'better instant answers', and that does not put users in a 'filter bubble' meaning results are biased towards particular users.
Currently, 50 per cent of DuckDuckGo's users are from the U.S., 45 per cent from Europe and the remaining 5 per cent from Asia-Pacific (APAC).
On June 3, the company reported it had more than 19million direct queries per month and the zero-click Info API gets over 9million queries per day.
It has partnerships with apps, browsers and distributions that include DuckDuckGo as a search option: Browsers, distributions, iOS, and Android. Companies can use DuckDuckGo for their site search, and the firm offers an open API for Instant Answers based on its open source DuckDuckHack platform.
