New Questions About How Obama Got Into Harvard

According to a newspaper column released in 1979 by Vernon Jarrett, father-in-law of Obama confidente Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama might owe his success to a very controversial benefactor.
Early Obama critics will remember the particularly bizarre case of Percy Sutton, a leading African-American Civil Rights leader and entrepreneur who, while being interviewed on a New York area news program, dropped something of a bomb. Specifically, Sutton claimed that then-candidate Obama had earned his admission to Harvard thanks to the intervention of a mysterious lawyer named Khalid al-Mansour, who Sutton fingered as working for one of the wealthiest men on earth. According to Sutton, Mansour had asked him to write a letter of recommendation for Obama, and was in the process of “raising money” for Obama, though what this money could be for, he didn’t specify.

The story, coming as it did from the then-octogenarian Sutton, and lacking any other evidence to substantiate it, was dismissed by Politico’s Ben Smith in a lengthy piece around the same time. Mansour, for his part, studiously denied that he had ever met Obama, let alone that he had interceded on his behalf at Harvard, or that he had raised money for Obama. Considering that Obama graduated with over $40,000 in student debt, the “raising money” accusation was dismissed, and with it, the rest of the story. Subsequent information after the death of Sutton that revealed that he had suffered from dementia seemed to drive a stake through the heart of the story.
Which is a good thing for Obama, considering that if the connection had existed, it could have easily done permanent damage to his campaign. Why? Because along with his position advising Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulazziz, the former Black Panther al-Mansour (originally known as Donald Warden) has made some public statements which, if linked to Obama, would have devastating repercussions. Here is al-Mansour talking about Jews:
And here he is discussing Christianity:
Needless to say, it was fortunate in the extreme for Obama that there was no “there” there.
But now, thanks to some unexpected information, the story is back in the news, and this time, Mansour’s disavowals may be less easy to take. Reporter Frank Miele of Montana’s Daily InterLake newspaper unearthed the following 1979-era newspaper column by Jarrett discussing a plan by several influential African-American businessmen with ties to the Arab world to funnel their cash toward promising young African-American students. Among those businessmen was Mansour himself.
Newspaper Column Praises Khalid Al Mansour For Arab African American Partnership That May Have Benefitted Barack ObamaThe hitch? Mansour himself is quoted in the article. “The first indications of Arab help to American blacks may be announced in December,” he is quoted as saying.
Now, as this column was written 9 years before Obama’s admission to Harvard Law School, it’s scarcely demonstrative proof of any involvement by Mansour with Obama’s education, if indeed such involvement ever occurred.
However, the reaction of Mansour himself to the revelation of the column, as recorded by Ben Smith, may spark more suspicion than his original inclusion:
Jarrett writes that Mansour approached Ortiz with “a proposed special aid program.” Mansour is quoted saying, “The idea was fully endorsed by Ortiz and other OPEC administrators.”
Mansour, who lives in San Antonio, said the story was “definitely not true.”
“It’s not true, it’s not accurate,” Mansour said. He said that he had represented OPEC in a lawsuit in Los Angeles, but that this was the extent of his involvement with the organization.
As for the column, “I’ve never heard of it. I have no idea what the motivation of Mr. Jarrett was.”
Mansour said that he “absolutely not” had had anything to do with Obama’s education.
Now, in order for Mansour’s denial to be true, Jarrett would have had to make up his direct quote out of whole cloth. Given Jarrett’s status as a columnist and community leader, this may strike many as unlikely, which raises the question of whether there really is something Mansour is hiding, and if so, why he’s hiding it. Is he simply seeking to terminate all references to a connection that didn’t exist, however distant those references might be?
And if so, then why is Mansour allowing other outlets to include his connection to Obama in his biography, as though that connection is settled fact? That’s certainly the case in this press release from the Jamaican University of Technology (emphasis added):
Renowned global speaker, Muslim Lawyer, black nationalist and author, Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq Al-Mansour is scheduled to deliver the UTech Distinguished Lecture on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the Wyndham Kingston Hotel. He will speak on the intriguing topic: “World Opportunities for Wealthcreation – WOW!”
Al-Mansour who made news in 2008 when it was revealed that he had  been a patron of Barack Obama and had recommended him for admission to Harvard Law School in 1998, is co-founder of the International law firm of Al-Waleed, Al-Talal and Al-Mansour and Special Advisor to Saudi Arabian Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulazziz.
Al-Mansour has delivered lectures across the globe on issues related to globalization; international economics in the 21st century; Islamic economics; The Caribbean and Latin America in Transition and Peace in the Middle East.  He holds several professional and board memberships on various international electronic, housing, banking and financial companies and has received a number of prestigious honors and citations including “Who’s Who in the World (National Social Register, USA), Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the West, International Who’s Who of the Arab World and World’s Who in Finance and Industry.
TheBlaze reached out to the Jamaican University of Technology about this press release to find out whether Mansour had okayed the language. No response has been forthcoming, so it’s possible that Mansour was unaware of this descriptor. However, virtually the same language was used to introduce Mansour when he appeared on the National and International Roundtable Podcast. Listen below:

Mansour’s bio, as used on the show:
Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq Al-Mansour who made news in 2008 when it was revealed that he had been a patron of Barack Obama and had recommended him for admission to Harvard Law School in 1998, is co-founder of the International law firm of Al-Waleed, Al-Talal and Al-Mansour and Special Advisor to Saudi Arabian Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulazziz.
Now, Mansour does not appear to have been on the air when this bio was read, but presumably could have asked that the part about Obama be edited out. The wording is also ambiguous – it “was revealed” that he was a patron of Obama’s, but at no point does the host say that this is necessarily true, simply that the press “revealed” it. It is also possible that Mansour is using this supposed “revelation” to heighten his own profile, while knowing perfectly well that it’s not true, and denying it whenever the question gets raised seriously.
In any case, regardless of whether Mansour himself was one of Obama’s “patrons,” his inconsistent approach to information linking him to the President raises questions.

In addition to Pastor Jones, was issued the arrest warrant against Nicholas Basile, Nicholas man who is believed to be the owner of the film "innocence of Muslims" and that he was interrogated by federal authorities in California Saturday before heading for he and his family to an undisclosed location, as well as Morris Sadek, a Coptic governor residing in the United States . "

He added that the person "who is known as Sam Basil is certainly not his real name," spoke to him several times and sent him a copy of the "innocence of Muslims" to see them.

He said he did not reveal his name or his identity for fear of his life, adding, "I realize that inevitably feel scared and he's hiding somewhere, has said that the only people who talk to them or trust them and who receives phone calls from them, we are."

In response to a question about the reason for not responding to the appeals of a number of senior military and political officials including the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) David Petraeus, and former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and even President Barack Obama himself, to cancel his plans to burn the Koran and other similar activities, he said, "I did not ignore them completely, I received a phone call from (chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) General (Martin) Dempsey, who asked me not to show the film, I told him we we will preface (trailer), inevitably I'll look at that demand."

When asked Jones for remarks in which he said that the film is not intended to insult Muslims, said he was "aware that the movie insults Muslims," and he did not do "only a repetition of what was asked to Product saying about that particular point," but he said: "I totally agree on that The film, in my opinion, outrageous, without a doubt. "

As for the possibility of re-examining what calls it, in light of the fall of the victims of the Americans, said the pastor's controversial "I understand that all of these things (the loss of American lives) tragic, and of course agree with that a hundred percent, as well as the killing of U.S. Ambassador .. It is terrible and we to feel very angry because it offended us directly. "

He Reverend regret to the family of the U.S. ambassador in Libya late Cristafr Stevens and three Americans who were killed with him in the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, and said, "I am very very sorry for what happened, sorry because Islam again, use whatever excuse to promote violence."

Egyptian law and contempt of religions

For his part, said Dr. Ayman Salama Professor of International Law and a member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Relations, The Code of Criminal Procedure Egyptian stipulates that any Egyptian, even if it is outside the region, threatening the peace, security and inciting subversion and contempt of religion, must be brought in front of the Egyptian judiciary to conduct the trial, It also may not be tried in absentia.

Magazine said "Komentara" The U.S. administration of President Barack Obama risked relations with the United States the largest Arab country when it overestimated the strength of the "Brotherhood" in Egypt.

And re-mind - in a comment on its website entitled "defeat the Brotherhood is not impossible - to last summer, when the intervention of the army in Egypt to resolve the conflict between the demonstrations strength of tens of millions of citizens on one side, and the Government of the" Brotherhood "from the other side, in the words of magazine.

And spotted a magazine warning critics of this intervention and the time for the leaders of the army of the consequences of the exclusion of the Islamic Party from the government, and monitored as well as calls to cut off U.S. aid to Egypt as punishment for the Army, who was sacked Morsi, and warnings that any attempt to get rid of the "Brotherhood" rather than invited to participate in the next government will backfire, it has re-organization "Brotherhood" secret work quickly and then it would be impossible to eliminate him.

They pointed to the magazine that they were the owners of this opinion warn that Islamists would then be content with once the presence, but will work to change the identity of Egypt to be a second Algeria, where Islamists reject army dispute his authority in which Sagerv the country into a spiral of bloody conflict.

But after three months of these predictions and warnings, turned out to be exaggerated, according to "Komentara" that drew to enable the authorities in Egypt to arrest all the leaders of the group almost arresting Essam el-Erian on Wednesday, and suggested the magazine to be the Egyptian army satisfied after the arrest of another symbols of the group - which was seeking to extend its influence to Egypt - without much resistance from the part, despite the existing capacities are confidential.

The magazine said the U.S. there are two things that can conclusion is making progress, the first error of those who have long warned that the group "Brotherhood" is impossible to defeat .. Adding that if the conflict is not settled yet, and if the group was not uttered after the last breath, but it has become clear, at least at the moment - that the Brotherhood does not have the makings of force to threaten the army.

The magazine asserted that if democracy is not among the options currently on the scene in Egypt, but the state did not slip in contrast to the chaos, as well as the quagmire of civil war.

The second thing that is my understanding, the magazine that the group "Brotherhood" unpopular had suspected leaders of a number of Americans, including, unfortunately, many in the administration of President Obama.

But what happened to the opinion of the magazine that during the fall of the regime of Hosni Mubarak in 2011 if not then entity in Egypt comparable to the group "Brotherhood" in the organization, which reported him as well as her friends in Turkey and the Gaza Strip, which has strengthened its forces and its people to win the election that followed against the secular parties or Liberal Nada were not equivalent to the group.

It seems that the year in which the group spent in power, and its work in public after the password for the first time in its history, has weakened their forces so that it no longer able to impose a threat against the new regime, which came on the ruins of its system in Egypt.

The magazine added to these reasons, the progress made by the group during its rule of the enmity of tens of millions of ordinary Egyptians who came out to protest against the policies of their leaders in the management of the country.

She said that the group attempts to use the progress made by the authority to change the identity of Egypt, and to ensure that they will not be confronted, raised the ire of the Egyptian public opinion against it.

On the U.S., the magazine confirmed the miscalculation of America on the largest Arab countries, warning of the consequences of Egypt out of orbit American astronomer.

Saudi Arabia funds “Army of Islam” in Syria

November 20, 2013 Syrian rebel groups have been jockeying for further foreign funding by realigning their coalitions to meet objectives of their state sponsors.  An allegedly “moderate Islamist” group of Sunni brigades has formed to serve as Saudi Arabia’s rebel proxy fighting force.  It calls itself the Army of Islam, and its goal is to field 100,000 troops before next spring’s fighting season.
What follows is an excerpt from a longer analysis by ISN Security Watch appearing at OilPrice.com, a CNBC partner website (with a tip of the hat to “Peacelover” for sending this over to us) with details on this development:

Buying a Ready-Made Rebel Army

The prospect of building a rebel army outside Syria is poor. The only practical way to build one is to amalgamate and sponsor existing armed groups inside Syria—but that too is becoming more difficult as rebel alliances shift and proliferate.
Many of Syria’s rebel groups are positioning themselves to receive Saudi funding and weapons by declaring mergers and alliances. In fact, competition for external funding has long been a powerful driver of organizational dynamics within Syria’s armed rebellion. Not all of that support comes from government sources. It is already customary for private donors in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates to sponsor rebel groups of their choice, most often Salafists or jihadists, as the Facebook pages of these forces proudly attest.
Most prominent among the new groups receiving Saudi government funding is the Army of Islam, formed on September 29. It was founded by 43 rebel brigades and battalions in the Damascus region under the leadership of Zahran Alloush, commander of the local Islam Brigade (the backbone of the Army of Islam) and secretary general of the Syrian Islamic Liberation Front. Although the Army of Islam denied press reports of Saudi sponsorship, its stated aim of “uniting the efforts of all factions . . . and forming an official army” coincided precisely with the Saudi objective.
The formation of the Army of Islam closely followed the publication by the association of Muslim ulema in Syria of a proposal to unite Islamist rebel groups under a single Army of Muhammad, with a stated target of building up to a strength of 100,000 by March 2015 and 250,000 by March 2016. Although such an army would espouse a centrist and nonsectarian ideology, according to the proposal’s authors, it would nonetheless follow “the path of the Sunnah and Jama’ah,” unambiguously declaring its Sunni affiliation. Since then, the Army of Islam has discussed forming the all-encompassing Army of Muhammad with the “moderate Islamist” Tawhid and Suqour al-Sham Brigades…

House Speaker John Boehner shocked as family health deductible triples

Add to the list of the millions of Americans who are expected to receive a massive price increase from Obamacare: House Speaker John A. Boehner.
The Ohio Republican said he’s just learned from HealthCare.gov that his deductible will triple — and his new premium will be nearly twice the current price, Fox News reported.

“So here’s the bottom line,” said a spokesman for Mr. Boehner on Fox News. “Before Obamacare, through the program for all federal employees, the Boehners’ monthly premiums totaled $433 with a $700 deductible.”
But under the new health care plan, costs soar.
“Now, the Boehners will pay around $800 per month, with deductibles somewhere near $2,000,” the spokesman said. “Of course, the speaker and Mrs. Boehner are fortunate enough to be able to afford these higher costs. They’re not asking anyone to feel sorry for them. We stress that.”
The speaker’s office gave out the information only in response to an inquiry from Fox News, “for the sake of transparency,” the spokesman said.
