Michael Savage Attacks Jews, Yom Kippur, Israel; Praises Islam, Muslims
By Debbie SchlusselWhy is Michael Savage attacking Judaism and religious Jews and praising Islam and Muslims?
When I was on Michael Savage’s nationally syndicated radio show a few times, several years ago, my late father was dismayed. He warned me that Savage was a self-serving, egomaniacal nut who was all over the map and didn’t make sense. Well, per usual, father knows best. As I told you a while ago, Savage went off the deep end, long ago. He turned into nutty Alex Jones with a New York accent. He’s frequently had on openly anti-Semitic commentators, such as Paul Craig Roberts, who insisted–without disagreement from Savage–that Barack Obama, Susan Rice, and Hillary Clinton are “neocons, who all have dual Israeli citizenship.” Roberts also blamed all of America’s foreign policy problems on the Jews, with no disagreement from Savage. Do I need to tell you that is absolutely false? Do I need to tell you that this is the same kind of hokum you’ll hear at the David Duke Fan Club Klan Kostume Kontest? Who needs Mel Gibson, when you have the “Savage Nation”?
And, yes, Savage has bent over backwards over the last month or two, praising Islam and its followers and taking great pains to sound exactly like Barack Obama in saying that ISIS isn’t Islamic and that real Muslims don’t behave that way. Really? Ever seen how HAMAS and Hezbollah and the governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates behave? Ever seen the honor killings and beheadings practices by Muslims all over the Western world? ISIS is EXACTLY how Muslims behave. Very typical, in fact.
But why point that out when Savage has attacking Jews on his agenda?
Savage has said more than once in the last few weeks that Israel helped create ISIS as an excuse to take out Assad, which doesn’t even make sense because one has very little to do with the other. Assad is opposed to ISIS But it’s an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory popular in the Muslim world, as all anti-Semitic conspiracy theories like it are. And, these days, Michael Savage has a lot in common with that world. Less in common with decent, sane Americans. Savage is not a conservative. Just a demagogue who once had a weird, skinny-dipping relationship with the late, openly gay Allen Ginsberg. But Savage found a way to make money spouting what he thought people wanted to hear. Now that he has this national show and is in his winter years, he says what he really believes. And when it comes to Jews and Israel, he’s in the same tent as the most extremist of imams.
Savage has also said–as his evidence that most Muslims are good people–that Muslim restaurants need the Jews as customers. (He says this because he’s fawned over at some San Francisco area Persian restaurant.) Um, not really. Actually, not at all. Go anywhere in the United States, and while you’ll find some moronic Jews (who put their stomachs before their brains) eating at terrorist-supporting Muslim restaurants, such as Al-Oumara in West Bloomfield, Michigan, most Muslim restaurants have largely Muslim and Gentile customer bases. Regardless, it’s irrelevant and anecdotal and doesn’t do a thing in the face of overwhelming evidence that most Muslims choose extremism as their religion is inherently extremist, from their koran to their Hadith, to their imams. It’s just the way it is, shishkabob or not.
I’m told by those in the know in the radio biz that Savage, who eats on the air and sometimes slurs his words, has come to work drunk and done his show off the wagon. But he seems very sober and aware in his hatred attack Jews and defending Muslims.
Moreover, aside from the fact that he’s a kook, you have to wonder what Cumulus was thinking giving him a national slot in what is afternoon drive time for most of the country. He plays music that you’d have to be in your late 70s and early 80s to remember. That’s why 25-54 ratings for Savage’s show continue to fall. In Detroit, WJR is not even in the top 15 stations in that key demo, whether it’s during Savage’s show, Rush Limbaugh’s show, or the boring, irrelevant shows of any of the other old fogies on that station. Confucius say, if a tree fell in the forest but no one was there to hear it, did it make a noise? That’s WJR. Nobody is listening. At least nobody who isn’t in AARP’s and Depends’ prime demo.
If you are a decent American, you won’t support Michael Savage a/k/a Michael Weiner, whether it’s patronizing his advertisers or buying his new book.
That book, “Stop the Coming Civil War,” has an ironic title given the anti-Semitic, self-hating, pro-Muslim author. He isn’t doing a thing to stop a civil war. He’s provoking one. And he’s on the wrong side.
Just a few years ago, the UK wouldn’t allow Savage in because the country said he was too anti-Muslim. But he’s done a 180. And, now, his Jew-hating conspiracy theories will fit right in there.
There is nothing “savage” about this guy at all. He’s just the weiner he always was.
