ORANGE PARK, Fla. —
NCIS
as well as cops in Orange Park and the Clay County Sheriff's office
are investigating the mysterious death of a U.S. navy commander in
Orange Park.
Detectives say they found the
body of 44-year-old Alphonso Doss in the Astoria Hotel on February 12.

office in Jacksonville ruled his death a homicide on Wednesday.
Commander Kelly Brannon confirms Doss was stationed in Pensacola and reported to the Naval Education and Training Command in Nov. 2011.
Doss was currently on Temporary Additional Duty orders to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit in Jacksonville.
Orange Park Police say because the case is still active, his cause of death is not being released.
WOKV learned from
a local newspaper in Mississippi
that Doss was assigned to interview detainees at Guantanamo Bay. In
2006, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed reportedly admitted to Doss' team that he
was one of the masterminds behind the 9/11 terror attacks.
It was during this tour that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed admitted to Doss’ team that he was one of the masterminds behind 9/11.
