Barack Hussein Soebarkah?
One of the unexplained mysteries in the scanty documentation of the early life of the 44th
President of the United States is the appearance of the name Soebarkah
as his last name on an official document filled out by his mother.
In a recent contribution to American Thinker, Nick Chase offers very persuasive evidence that the long-form birth certificate released by Obama is a forgery.
While in the midst of developing an argument supporting the idea that Obama was adopted by the Indonesian Lolo Soetoro, Chase states:
Clearly, just what constitutes "a satisfactory explanation" varies with respect to persons, subject matter, context, and so forth.
And yet, there is a very good -- and simple -- explanation for the seemingly random appearance of the sobriquet "Soebarkah" on Mother Soetoro's passport application.
Believe it or not, the reason may be linked to one Loretta Fuddy.
Yes, that Loretta Fuddy -- the Hawaii state health director who approved the release of Obama's long-form birth certificate and who has apparently succumbed to a nasty case of post random plane crash induced arrhythmia.
Ann Soetoro and Loretta Fuddy appear to have one very odd thing in common: both have been linked to the Subud cult, which originated in, of all places, Indonesia and was founded by the Javanese Muslim Muhammed Subuh.
The smallish cult appears to have had, at least circa 2001 and according to this profile of sorts in the Honolulu Advertiser, 20,000 members worldwide. Notice the picture of Deliana Fuddy, then "regional helper" and member of the faith? Let's return to her Subud status in a second.
Note also that the World Subud organization seems to have been based in, of all cities....wait for it...Chicago. Indonesia...Chicago...Hawaii... three locales linked to Obama's life.
Next, observe that the Advertiser article states that Subud was introduced to Hawai'i in the 1960s (more on this in the conclusion).
Now to Ann Soetoro. She was linked to Subud by her biographer (and New York Times reporter) Janny Scott (Harvard '77) in the book A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama's Mother," reviewed by the New York Times here.
Loretta Fuddy was more than merely a follower of Subud; she worked her way up the ranks and became chairwoman of Subud USA, based in Seattle from 2006 to 2008, and was known to Subud not merely as Loretta Fuddy, but as "Deliana" Loretta Fuddy. In fact, you can see that in its headline, the official Subud "memorial" page drops "Loretta" and refers simply to "Deliana" Fuddy.
Ann Soetoro's close association with members of the Subud cult will be documented below. But first, note in passing that of all the persons -- Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Atheist, Hindu, or you-name-it -- that could have been installed as Director of the State Department of Health in Hawaii, Hawaii alighted on Fuddy -- a leader of a small cult with roots in Indonesia and connections to Ann Soetoro -- Obama's mother. Second, observe that Fuddy assumed the Director position in Hawaii in January 2011, just a few months before the release of Obama's long form birth certificate.
Now to Ann Soetoro's links with Subud and to a brief discussion of the Barry "Soebarkah" mystery associated with Ann Soetoro's 1968 passport renewal application.

But what might the Ann Soetoro, Deliana Fuddy, Subud links really have to do with the sobriquet Barry Soebarkah?
To help answer that, transport yourself backward in time and sit at the feet of the Indonesian Subud master Bapak circa 1963:
If changing one's name for "spiritual reasons" was something frequently done by followers of Subud's Bapak, and Stanley Ann Soetoro was in fact closely associated with Subud, it is reasonable to suppose that "Soebarkah" arose in the same way new names for others (like "Deliana" Loretta Fuddy?) associated with Subud did: as a matter of course depending on the case.
Readers might agree that the above is a quite reasonable account of the origin of Barry "Soebarkah."
But there is something else. The above biographical material bonds Ann Soetoro to Subud members via an English language, business communications department post. According to the New York Times here, that would have been around 1970 or 1971. However, the passport renewal application with the name "Soebarkah" dates to 1968. This suggests that either the "Soebarkah" handle came from nowhere, or that matters are as we have discussed and that Ann Soetoro in fact came to Subud before 1970 -- perhaps in Hawaii.
Clearly, we might want to recall that the above linked Honolulu Advertiser Subud profile indicates that Subud was introduced to Hawai'i in the 1960s.
In closing, the Ann Soetoro's 1968 passport renewal application raises the spectre of possible Obama birth certificate fraud yet again. Have a look at page 2 of the document:
"Sorebarkah" appears in the section labeled "Amend to Include (Exclude) Children."
The name Barack Hussein Obama (Sorebarkah) is crossed out.
Nick Chase has concluded that this signifies that Ann Soetoro had improvidently decided to exclude Barack from her passport renewal. Chase thinks that Soetoro changed her mind about exclusion after having been informed by the Consulate that doing so would leave Barack passportless.
But there is another possibility -- one just as valid on its face.
What if Soetoro was trying to include Obama in the renewal, but she wasn't able to produce a birth certificate, and the Subud name "Soebarkah" just didn't do the trick? (hat tip Louise Hodges for the "inclusion" possibility; one can't be certain why she did not link the inclusion possibility to Soebarkah).
That could explain why the name Subud name "Soebarkah" appears nowhere else (that we are aware of anyway),
Of course, we might then have to wonder exactly how Obama did his traveling at certain points in time, but then perhaps Subud is, at least at times, more than a mere cult?

Arianne (no second name) wrote to me to say, "Talked to Irin Poellot who is reading the book about Obama's mother and has already run into several literal mentions of Subud!!! I remember the late Mansur Madeiros mentioning he knew her in Indonesia and he is mentioned in the book! I can't help wondering if we will get inquiries about Subud since it is mentioned often in a book which probably will be widely read. It also is a delicious fact that our Subud sister, Ms Fuddy, just was appointed to her post in the Health Dept in Hawaii in time to be involved in the documentation of fact that Obama was born there."
I wrote back asking for more specific information and Arianne replied, "Irin kindly supplied some quotes:In chapter 4 "Initiation in Java" the Subud members are quoted. And then (on page 116): "...she (Ann) was hired to start an English-language, business-communications department in one of the few private non profit management-training schools in the country."
Ann "found a group of young Americans and Britons enrolled in an intensive course in Bahasa Indonesia, the national language, at the University of Indonesia recalled Irwan Holmes, (a member of the original group). She was looking for teachers. A half dozen of them accepted her invitation, many of them members of an international spiritual organization, Subud, with a residential compound in a suburb of Jakarta.."
And ......Mohammad Mansur Madeiros, a reclusive and scholarly Subud member from Fall River, Massachusetts, and Harvard, whom Ann hired as a teacher, had immersed himself so deeply in Javanese culture, language and religion that friends nicknamed him Mansur Java. When he died in 2007, friends recalled his preference for the company of ordinary Indonesians --street vendors and becak drivers -- over that of other Subud members and expatriates."

Históricamente hablando, Subud comenzó en 1925, cuando un hombre javanés llamado Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo recibió por primera vez un inesperado y fortísimo contacto con el Poder de la Luz de Dios, que dio paso a un período de tres años de intensa acción en el interior de su alma.
Al finalizar ese tiempo y, en contestación a su plegaria, se le dijo que ese regalo se podía compartir, que no era sólo para él, sino que lo debía transmitir a todas las personas que lo pidieran. En un principio, sólo recibieron su familia y sus vecinos más próximos. Después, gente llegada de todas partes de Indonesia recibió el contacto y, a su debido tiempo, Bapak autorizó a algunas personas a que transmitieran ese contacto a otros. Subud llegó a Occidente en 1956. El nombre de Subud (Soeboed, como se deletreaba antiguamente), se utilizó por primera vez en 1947. Desde entonces se ha extendido prácticamente por todos los países del mundo. No se hace ningún esfuerzo por darle publicidad. Se difunde principalmente por medio del trato personal y del ejemplo en la forma de vida. Sin embargo, varias personas han escrito algunos libros sobre el tema que han servido para despertar el interés de los lectores, pues estos reconocen algo que, consciente o inconscientemente, han estado buscando.
Desde 1957 hasta poco después de su muerte, acaecida en 1987, Pak Subuh, Pak o Bapak es el nombre que se da a una persona mayor o respetable) viajó mucho fuera de su país. La transmisión del contacto de Subud no depende de la presencia de Pak
Subuh. Él autorizó a actuar como sus ayudantes y representantes a muchos hombres y mujeres de los países donde está establecido Subud. Esos "ayudantes" no tienen por qué tener un alto nivel espiritual, si bien algunos de ellos, después de cuarenta, cincuenta, o más años de estar en Subud, pueden haberlo conseguido hasta cierto punto. Los ayudantes se eligen entre las personas que estén dispuestas a serlo y tengan suficiente experiencia. La palabra "Subud" no está relacionada directamente con el nombre de Pak Subuh. Es una abreviatura de tres palabras sánscritas: Susila, Budhi, y Dharma. Susila significa la manera correcta de vivir de acuerdo con la voluntad de Dios. Budhi significa la fuerza interna que reside dentro de la naturaleza del propio ser humano. Dharma significa entrega y sumisión al Poder de Dios. Juntas simbolizan una hermandad de hombres y mujeres de todas las razas y religiónes, unidas en la adoración a Dios en el latihan.
El latihan es la base de Subud. Latihan es una palabra indonesia que significa aproximadamente entrenamiento o ejercicio. La palabra preferida es latihan, ya que por ser poco familiar ayuda a evitar cualquier confusión o comparación con algún otro concepto o experiencia ya conocida. El latihan no se puede enseñar ni imitar, porque surge espontáneamente desde el interno después de haber recibido el contacto con el poder de Dios, transmitido a través de una persona que ya lo tenga. El latihan es diferente para cada persona. No surge ni gracias a la voluntad ni a ninguna acción humana, ni a un esfuerzo del corazón y de la mente. Se da únicamente gracias a la voluntad de Dios. Al mismo tiempo, la voluntad humana es libre en todo momento de intervenir o detener la acción del latihan, que continuará únicamente mientras estemos dispuestos a someternos a él.
Las personas autorizadas para transmitir el contacto, es decir, "los ayudantes", no hacen nada para o por la persona que lo recibe. Se limitan a recibir su propio latihan junto a los nuevos miembros que vienen a recibirlo, Este proceso comienza también en ellos y sigue trabajando después sin necesidad de usar el corazón, la mente o la voluntad. Lo único que se necesita, bien sea en el momento de recibir el latihan por primera vez, o en las siguientes ocasiones, es una actitud interna de sincera sumisión a la voluntad de Dios.
El latihan se practica dos veces por semana con otros miembros del mismo sexo, acompañados por uno o más ayudantes que son responsables durante la media hora que generalmente dura. Después de unos cuantos meses de experiencia los miembros pueden hacer otro latihan a solas, pero se les aconseja que no lo hagan más de tres veces a la semana.
Las experiencias en el latihan varían muchísimo. Es diferente para todos y diferente para cada persona en diferentes momentos. Normalmente comienza con movimientos físicos y con sonidos, que son la manifestación externa de una acción interna que es demasiado profunda para que se experimente directamente. Conforme pasa el tiempo, la experiencia se va haciendo más interna y más sutil.
El latihan es, por lo tanto, una verdadera adoración a Dios por medio de nuestra entrega a Su Voluntad. Su acción es de purificación y crecimiento interno. Todos nosotros tenemos muchas impurezas, tanto las heredadas como las adquiridas por nuestros propios errores. Hay muchas cosas en nosotros que necesitan ser corregidas, y esto, gracias al latihan, se hace de una manera que nosotros solos no podríamos hacer. Sólo el poder de Dios puede penetrar en el nivel donde se tiene que realizar ese trabajo en nosotros, porque sólo Dios puede saber lo que cada uno de nosotros necesitamos. Esta es la razón de que no se transmitan enseñanzas de persona a persona. Sólo Dios es el maestro.
El proceso de purificación es gradual y continúa según las necesidades de cada persona, de su capacidad para recibirlo y de su disposición para aceptarlo. El poder que trabaja en el latihan es fortísimo, pero no fuerza a nadie contra su voluntad. El proceso sigue adelante siempre y cuando aceptemos y nos sometamos a la Voluntad de Dios. Comienza a nivel físico y, frecuentemente, produce una mejora en la salud. Pero su acción no se puede predecir jamás, todo lo que se puede decir es que cada persona recibe lo verdaderamente bueno y necesario para sí misma, siempre y cuando se entregue y se someta con paciencia y sinceridad. El grado en el que la purificación procede varía en cada persona y no hay que tener prisa ni hacer ningún esfuerzo. Lo único que puede hacer la persona es aceptar lo que recibe y no impedir, con su mal comportamiento, el trabajo que se está realizando en ella.
Subud es para la vida externa y también para la interna. Es tanto para los miembros individuales como para la hermandad como unidad. Por lo tanto, además del latihan, cuenta también con una organización para los asuntos terrenales. Esta organización se conoce colectivamente como Asociación Mundial Subud. Cada centro Subud tiene su propio comité y su propio grupo de ayudantes. Ambos trabajan unidos y tienen su campo de trabajo claramente definido. En los países donde ya hay una organización nacional, existe un Comité Nacional responsable de los asuntos organizativos a nivel nacional.
Las responsabilidades de estos comités consisten en ocuparse de las finanzas, proveer lugares para el latihan y organizar el trabajo benéfico y comercial si es que existe. Los ayudantes son responsables de transmitir el contacto a los miembros nuevos, organizar y estar presentes en el latihan general, dar explicaciones sobre Subud a quienes lo pidan, constestar las preguntas que hacen los miembros respecto al latihan, aconsejar al comité cuando así lo pide, visitar y hacer el latihan con los enfermos. Ni los ayudantes ni el comité ejercen poder alguno, se limitan a cumplir con sus diversas obligaciones y responsabilidades como un servicio. Además de estas estructuras organizativas locales existen los ayudantes regionales, si son necesarios, y también el grupo de ayudantes internacionales, que trabajan junto al Comité Internacional de Subud. (Todas estas entidades se nombran por un período de tiempo limitado, y a las personas que trabajan en ellas no se las considera como seres especiales o superiores).
La organización de Subud está financiada en parte por donaciones y contribuciones voluntarias hechas por los miembros, pero la intención de Pak Subuh era que la parte econonómica se supliese con donaciones provenientes de las empresas. Sugirió que se considerase la posibilidad de que las empresas donasen un 25% del beneficio, una vez deducidos los impuestos y los gastos que produjeran la operación. Esta sugerencia se está poniendo en práctica cada vez más.
Además de cubrir esos gastos directos, la organización Subud tiene también una rama social-benéfica afiliada, conocida como Susila Dharma Internacional, que es una Organización No Gubernamental afiliada a la Organización de Las Naciones Unidas.
En la mayoría de los países, la organización Subud, como entidad no lucrativa, está registrada como organización benéfica y, por lo tanto, queda exenta de impuestos. Así, todas las donaciones se pueden utilizar para los propósitos de Subud. Subud está abierto a cualquier persona mayor de diecisiete años. Patrol agents have lost a key part of their arsenal. And that has
agents who patrol along the border here, extremely worried.
We learned that U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Offices of Border Patrol and Training and Development are inspecting the quality of agents' M4 carbines throughout Border Patrol sectors nationwide. But agents tell us, some of those M4s have not been replaced. And, we've learned, agents are required to share rifles amongst each other.
"There's a lot of agents that are pretty upset over it," said Art del Cueto, president of the Border Patrol's Tucson Sector union. "We know it's a dangerous job. We know what we signed on for but we want to have as much of the equipment as we need to perform the job."

"There's a lot of agents that are pretty upset over it," said Art del Cueto, president of the Border Patrol's Tucson Sector union. "We know it's a dangerous job. We know what we signed on for but we want to have as much of the equipment as we need to perform the job."
The
M4 carbine is used by the U.S. military and by Border Patrol agents.
It's even used by the Border Patrol's tactical unit, BORTAC. Agent Brian
Terry was carrying the M4 when he was shot and killed in December 2010.

Cueto tells us that because some of those M4s have not been replaced,
agents are pooling their weapons, which makes it difficult to
personalize the settings on a rifle, such as the sights."The problem is they are now pool guns so what happens is instead of having their individual ones they have sighted in they're having to use a pool weapon that you don't know who used it before you," del Cueto said.

veteran law enforcement chief in Massachusetts sent out a letter to his
colleagues throughout the country to join him in Washington, D.C. to
voice their opposition to President Barack Obama’s threatened executive
orders on immigration. Bristol County, Massachusetts, Sheriff Thomas
Hodgson while appearing Monday evening on the Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren
discussed his plan to call attention to the criminal justice issues
surrounding illegal aliens allowed to remain in the United States.
Sheriff Hodgson sent a letter to sheriffs throughout the United States urging them to join him in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 10, 2014, in order to hold a protest and rally in front of the White House and also to have a "meet and greet" with lawmakers in both houses of Congress, especially the newly elected Senators and Representatives and the new Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Sheriff Hodgson said he will implore the Republicans and any Democrats who will meet with the sheriffs first secure the Southwest border before doing anything else as far as amnesty and handouts.
Hodgson told Van Susteren: “Never before in [American] history has it been [more] important for America's sheriffs to stand together and speak with one voice urging political leaders to secure the borders before doing any other immigration reforms." In his letter, Hodgson writes, “As you know, the policies of recent years that encourage immigrants to illegally enter our country have created serious threats to our domestic and national security.”
Speaking on Fox News, Hodgson complained that President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and others have been marginalizing law enforcement. "He's correct in every detail. With this administration, public safety and national security take back seats to the drive to turn millions of lawbreakers into U.S. citizens and voters," said former police captain Joel Langston, who now serves as a security consultant for private industry.
Hodgson claims that the Obama administration is intentionally or unintentionally causing a breakdown in public safety in American communities only to later build them up again according to Obama's vision of America. "The Obama administration is attempting to get more and more illegal aliens in here, and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is a perfect example of that, where we’ve seen these kids coming in droves, and we’re not able to manage it."
The matter of cost is also a concern to many sheriffs who run their counties' jail and detention systems. According to an Examiner news story, "It's been widely reported that illegal aliens comprise upwards of 27 percent of the US prison and jail population. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection -- two agencies within the Department of Homeland Security -- claim in several reports that they've apprehended over 100,000 criminal aliens whose offenses go far beyond violation of immigration laws and regulations. [O]nly about 25 percent of expenses for imprisoning criminal aliens is reimbursed by the federal government to state and local governments. This creates a hardship for taxpayers in states with high incarceration rates for criminal aliens. In some states, there's even talk of releasing criminal aliens without notifying the federal authorities."
