Following the 2012 terrorist attack of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, millions of citizens were distraught not only over the loss of four lives, but also by what they saw as a cover-up by American officials.
Recently released emails indicate a former Obama speechwriter concocted the talking point that the attack was based on outrage over a YouTube video. The revelation only confirmed what many already suspected.

As a result of this development, recent reports indicate House Speaker John Boehner is finally ready to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Benghazi attack and America’s stunted response to it.
“The new emails this week were the straw that broke the camel’s back,” a top Republican aide told the Weekly Standard Friday. “The Speaker was furious to learn that the administration withheld relevant documents from a congressional subpoena. He’s sick and tired of this evasion and obstruction from the administration, and wants a solution to finally force accountability, get to the truth, and provide justice.”
While Boehner has taken some action regarding the Benghazi investigation, he has until now refused to appoint a select committee assigned to the task. According to Friday’s reports, that move is now imminent.

The aide explained the emails released earlier this week were game-changing.
“For the first time we have clear and public evidence that the White House was more involved in misleading the American people than it had previously admitted,” the source continued. “And, second, it’s now proven that the administration withheld relevant documents from a congressional subpoena request.”
The select committee is expected to be headed by South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, a former district attorney who has made a name for himself since his 2011 election by demanding direct answers from various witnesses he has questioned on Capitol Hill.
Another breaking report indicates two additional committees will likely be tasked with determining why certain unclassified documents were marked as classified amid mounting pressure on the administration to release them.

It looks like forecasting for space events can be just as hard as forecasting the weather. Friday night’s “once in a lifetime” meteor shower apparently wasn’t quite as impressive as hoped.
Scientists weren’t sure how the very first May Camelopardalid meteor shower would appear, but early predictions seemed to indicate an epic light show for North American viewers. However, it turns out the meteor shower was more of a dribble.
Some stargazers took to Twitter to lament that the shower wasn’t exactly fireworks.

However, there were a few lucky viewers who managed to snag a few good pictures of the streaking meteors. Bob King, an amateur astronomer from Duluth, Minnesota, said he stayed out from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. to get some decent shots.
Although he saw a few meteors, he said it wasn’t as extraordinary as predicted. “It was a weak shower” King told ABC News. “I know locally here [people] saw maybe four or five. It’s a long time to see that few.”

As he recounted in a recent post on his website, former Republican congressman Col. Allen West recently had an interesting conversation aboard a commercial flight. Sitting beside him was a personal acquaintance of one of the Americans killed during the Sept. 11, 2012 terror attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Using drawings to put his claims in perspective, West wrote that the source provided a detailed account of the day’s events.

“I learned about the repeated orders to the men at the CIA annex to stand down and do nothing – thank God two of them, Glenn Doherty and Ty Woods, lived up to their code of honor and ran to the sound of the guns, resulting in their loss of life – but the preservation of life for others, their fellow Americans.”

The source confirmed those behind the attack were al-Qaeda affiliates, explaining the escalation of violence was not a surprise to the Americans being targeted.

“I came to understand why Ambassador Chris Stevens was there in the first place and that he had in fact requested better security but was denied – the question is, by whom?”

According to West’s account, the airline passenger informed him that those with knowledge of the attack have been threatened with the loss of their pensions should they decide to speak out. Furthermore, he said, American forces were apparently complicit in making sure terrorists could carry out their attacks.

“We had been supplying radical Islamists with weapons against Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi, effectively supplying the enemy and destabilizing that country. And it seems that there was a CIA weapons buy-back program, the aim of which was to ship the retrieved weapons out of Libya through Turkey, and to the Islamist forces in Syria.”

The ensuing cover-up by the Obama administration, he suggested, has been an attempt to bring attention away from the fact that the Benghazi attack was far from a run-of-the-mill kidnapping.

“The web of lies spun is coming apart, and all other committee hearings on this matter should be shut down.”

He insisted that, in order to get to the bottom of the scandal, everyone involved – including Barack Obama – must be compelled to testify before the House select committee being led by Rep. Trey Gowdy.

The day after Barack Obama insisted he would get to the bottom of the Veterans Affairs scandal by putting the department’s head in charge of investigating himself, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi weighed in on the controversy Thursday. As in scandals past, the Democrat was quick to blame the actions of Obama’s predecessor.
Obama “sees the ramifications of some seeds that were sown a long time ago,” she suggested, “when you have two wars over a long period of time and many, many more, millions more veterans.”

Without specifically mentioning George W. Bush by name, she assured gathered reporters that “he is upset about it.”
She continued her diatribe with an excoriation of the previous administration’s foreign policy decisions.
“Maybe when we go into war,” she said, “we should be thinking about its consequences and its ramifications. You would think that would be a given; but maybe it wasn’t.”
As a result of America’s post-9/11 military action, she asserted that the VA was overburdened, perhaps leading to the current issues that have been blamed for dozens of veteran deaths.
“And so,” she explained, “we go in a war in Afghanistan, leave Afghanistan for Iraq with unfinished business in Afghanistan. Ten years later, we have all of these additional veterans. In the past five years, two million more veterans needing benefits from the VA. That’s a huge, huge increase.”
While her claims seem to have some objective merit, Pelosi completely ignored evidence suggesting the Obama administration has known about the VA’s shortcomings since the beginning of his presidency. In fact, she concluded his policies will likely be responsible for turning the department around.
“We have the Affordable Care Act that is out there that is providing resources for more federally qualified health clinics around the country,” she asserted. “Maybe we should take a look at how we deal with our veterans’ needs in a way that says let’s help them closer to home, whether that’s a qualified health clinic or in some other institution that provides health care closer to home.”
Pelosi’s statement is further evidence that this scandal is shaping up to follow the same trajectory of the many others that have plagued the Obama administration – complete with Democrats circling the wagons around their embattled leader.

The US government has forced the state of Oklahoma to overturn its anti-Sharia bill, after a Muslim man named Muneer Awad sued the state for supposed violations against “freedom of religion.”
CAIR also played a role in subverting the bill. Adam Soltani of CAIR said:

Sharia is the moral code of conduct for Muslims, and that includes certain aspects of laws, like marital laws, divorce, inheritance, wills…it encompasses part of that, but it’s also the moral code of conduct

The state of Oklahoma must now pay $303,333 to Awad for legal fees, costs and nontaxable expenses. The money is going into the hands of Muslims because the lawsuit was done by CAIR, a Muslim jihadist organization of Islamic lawyers. Awad himself is a lawyer and the executive director for CAIR. The state of Oklahoma is paying money right into the pockets of Muslims. The Muslim heretic Awad boasted the victory:

This was just politicians optimistically looking for an issue… Look what happened. Not only did the state question get struck down, but they’ll have to pay attorney fees and interest over three years.

Rep. Clark Jolley, R-Edmond, said that paying the fine “is an obligation of the state…I think that’s a disagreement with us and the courts… We passed that as a Legislature. We lost the lawsuit.

According to Jordan Sekulow, the bill never infringed on the Islamic religion, but was placed to prevent international codes of law from entering the government:

At its core, the amendment has nothing to do with infringing on a Muslim’s right to practice Islam or religious freedom generally. This amendment is about “judicial authority,” and is not a “demonization” of Islam.

70% of Oklahomans wanted the anti-Sharia bill, and trusted that the state would maintain it, but this decision shows that the government cannot be trusted, and that only a revolutionary measure though the populace, and not the total reliance on the state, will actually end the Muslim takeover the country.
This Islamic victory only shows one thing: American society is enabling the Muslims to advance their agenda. Unlimited freedom of religion will only lead to limits on Christianity. As I have written in my article, Religious Liberty Leads To Tyranny:

WASHINGTON –  Despite rampant allegations of veterans stuck in limbo waiting for care, hundreds of jobs remain unfilled at the Department of Veterans Affairs -- including at some of the very locations where doctors supposedly were too short-staffed to see patients.
A search by FoxNews.com on Friday of the USA Jobs federal employment website showed more than 1,080 current vacancies in health-related fields at the VA.
A search of the words “VA” and “physician” yielded 167 jobs openings with top-range salaries of roughly $295,000 a year. There are 18 openings alone in the Phoenix VA Health Care System – the same one facing allegations that up to 40 people died while waiting for treatment.
One full-time position is for the chief of medicine. The vacancy, posted April 15 and open until June 13, comes with an annual salary up to $235,000.
The VA pitches the job as a don't-miss opportunity. The ad boasts that “as a VA physician, your opportunities are endless” -- the agency offers "generous paid time off and a variety of predictable and flexible scheduling opportunities.”
So why the vacancies, at such a critical time?
In recent weeks, whistleblowers have come forward to criticize how the agency is handling its massive caseload. The allegations generally accuse local VA facilities of pushing off patients and then manipulating their own records to make it seem like they’re receiving care in a timely fashion.
Officials, in explaining the overburdened system, have pointed to the influx of veterans from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the long-term care of aging vets from Vietnam.
“We go into Afghanistan, leave Afghanistan for Iraq with unfinished business in Afghanistan,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday, suggesting these problems were years in the making. “Ten years later, we have all of these additional veterans -- in the past five years, two million more veterans needing benefits from the VA. That's a huge, huge increase.”
But the hundreds of vacancies show that the VA, with the influx of veterans a well-known factor, is not even operating at full capacity now.
Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America, questioned why the department didn't better prepare for the returning veterans by staffing up.
“These are self-inflicted wounds. This isn’t a money issue. This is a prioritization issue,” he said. "They knew there were going to be more veterans who needed care. Why didn't they prepare?"
Hegseth, a Fox News contributor, said he’s not surprised that lawmakers are trying to shift the blame. “It’s cover your ass time,” he said.
The inspector general at the VA says 26 facilities are now being investigated nationwide, including the one in Phoenix.
Some have accused administrators of cooking the books and creating an environment that encouraged VA staff to manipulate wait times of veterans who need medical or mental health care. Others, though, have called the scandal political theater and say for the most part, the VA medical system works.
In a letter to veterans Friday, VA Secretary Eric Shinseki vowed to do better and promised to investigate every allegation brought to the department’s attention.
“As we approach our observance of Memorial Day and its special significance to our nation, VA is re-doubling its efforts, with integrity and compassion, to earn your trust,” he wrote.
On Wednesday, President Obama broke his silence on the issue, vowing to “fix whatever is wrong” but stopping short of calling for Shinseki’s resignation.
As the scandal plays out in D.C., the VA continues its march to fill the hundreds of vacancies for health care officials at its clinics and hospitals across the country.
Among those is also a position in Kansas City, Mo., for a full-time radiologist, with a pay range of $98,967 to $295,000.
There are also openings at the VA teaching hospital in Danville, Ill., for urologists, pulmonologists and dental laboratory technicians. The facility also has an opening for an outpatient pharmacist, tasked with dispensing “appropriate medications and counseling patients on proper medication administration and storage.” The salary range is between $101,580 and $123,776.
Calls to the VA for comment were not returned.
