Obama’s visit to the region was not that of a peace mediator, but of a warlord who came to spark its fire…
Never in my life have I seen a president that fawns over the Israelis, begs for their approval, sings their praises and lauds their achievements and history like the American President, Barack Obama.
Obama sets a historic record in his country by becoming the first elected non-white president. However, we wrongly assumed that just because of his African American background, and the fact that he belonged to a people who had suffered centuries of persecution, that his stance would be different. It was expected that because he spoke so bitterly about the racial discrimination his grandparents and uncles had suffered through in Chicago, such as being prohibited from sitting on the same bus with white people, that he would better understand our suffering under the discriminatory Israeli occupation. However, he has disappointed us and reminded us of Uncle Tom in the famous American novel in which the black slave’s humanity and dignity is disregarded by his white master.
Mr Barack Hussein Obama surprised us in the speech he made before a group of Israeli youth in occupied Jerusalem in which he, the African, demanded that the Palestinians recognise Israel as a Jewish state and urged the Arabs to normalise with this state. He also said to those who reject Israel’s right to exist that they might as well reject the earth beneath them and the sky above. He stressed that Israel is not going anywhere, and as long as the US exists, the Israelis will not be alone.
We do not understand why Obama used these words or why he went through with this demeaning ingratiation; Israel is the one threatening our existence, denying our rights and monopolising over 300 nuclear warheads capable of destroying the entire region.
We are astonished that a president of African descent is demanding that we comply with the same discrimination his ancestors rejected; they sacrificed thousands to break the bonds of slavery and racial and religious discrimination. His demands to recognise Israel as a discriminatory Jewish state threatens the existence of a quarter of its population and strips them of their right to citizenship.
None of the “white” presidents stooped so low on this racial slope, and most of them pressured Israel in order to force them to recognize the rights of the Palestinian people. What drove Obama to deviate from the rule and grovel at Netanyahu’s feet, asking for forgiveness, as he has done in the last 2 days”
Obama’s visit to the region was not that of a peace mediator, but of a warlord who came to spark its fire, and agree on the details with his Israeli counterpart, Netanyahu, who openly insulted him when he publically announced his support for republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.
Obama gave Israel the green light to launch an assault on Iran without first deliberating with the US, and urged the world to add Hezbollah to the list of terrorists. He also vowed not to allow Iran to possess any nuclear weapons.
It is unfortunate that Obama is asking President Mahmoud Abbas to resume negotiations without stipulating a freeze on settlements, which is the condition he himself set during his speech made at Cairo University just weeks after winning the election.
We must expect such lean positions that are fully attuned with their Israeli counterpart over the next 4 years, which is the duration of Obama’s second term. Lean in the view of Arabs and Muslims, but firm in the view of the Israelis and their extremist right-wing government.
The Palestinians who protested in Ramallah, and were driven away by the Palestinian security forces who prevented them from approaching the PA headquarters where Obama’s plane landed were expressing the true feelings of the Palestinian people towards the American president who turned his back on the injustice and oppressed, and favoured the tyrant and oppressor.
The Palestinian Authority, led by Mr Abbas, which halted reconciliation talks once Obama’s visit was announced, is mostly responsible for this American shift in favour of Israel. This is because it is still counting on meaningless negotiations and has high hopes in Israel. This is why it prevented the protests and aborted an Intifada that was forming as a result of the death of the Palestinian prisoner, Arafat Jaradat, who died while being tortured in an Israeli prison. The Palestinian Authority did not even demand an investigation into his death.
Now, after Obama’s black smoke has been revealed and we have discovered the truth about his fully submissive positions with Netanyahu, we must take on a new position; a position of intifada, civil disorder, going to the International Criminal Court and Human Rights Council and making every possible effort to confront the Israeli occupation.
Finally, we hope that the cheque Obama waved at the Palestinian Authority for $500 million will not have the desired effect of taming the Palestinians and confirming Obama’s impression of the Palestinians; that they are being beggars waiting for crumbs of financial aid granted by donor countries, in exchange for relinquishing its legitimate rights and ending all forms of resistance against the occupation.
Obama is supplying the Israelis with iron domes and advanced warplanes, and has vowed to support their security and existence forever; meanwhile, he has presented the Palestinians with compliancy cheques… it is an utter tragedy.
Why would he urge the Arabs to normalise with Israel; is it to reward Israel for Judaising occupied Jerusalem, settling 600,000 settlers in the West Bank, storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque and undermining its foundations and scorning their peace initiatives”
We live in a time of American hypocrisy and undisputed Arab shame.

For the US, UK, France, and its regional partners including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, nothing would have suited their interests more than if the recent chemical attack reported in Aleppo Syria turned out to be (or could have been portrayed as being) the work of the Syrian government, or even “loose” weapons that had fallen into the hands of Al Qaeda terrorists the West both arms and condemns simultaneously.

However, a strange silence has fallen across the Western media regarding the chemical attack which Israel had even claimed to have “confirmed.”  Now, a recent report published in the London Telegraph by Channel 4 journalist Alex Thomson has produced convincing evidence that implicates the West’s terrorist proxies as the perpetrators, and goes far in explaining the otherwise inexplicable silence exhibited by Wall Street and London’s propaganda machine. Titled, “Syria chemical weapons: finger pointed at jihadists,” Thomson reported that:

The military’s version of events is that the home-made rocket was fired at a military checkpoint situated at the entrance to the town. The immediate effects were to induce vomiting, fainting , suffocation and seizures among those in the immediate area.

A second source – a medic at the local civilian hospital – said that he personally witnessed Syrian army helping those wounded and dealing with fatalities at the scene. That Syrian soldiers were among the reported 26 deaths has not been disputed by either side.

The military source who spoke to Channel 4 News confirmed that artillery reports from the Syrian Army suggest a small rocket was fired from the vicinity of Al-Bab, a district close to Aleppo that is controlled by Jabhat al-Nusra – a jihadist group said to be linked with al-Qaeda and deemed a “terrorist organisation” by the US.

Thomson describes his contact in Syria as “a trusted and hitherto reliable source.” Thomson’s report, coupled with the silence across the West’s governments and media houses, implies that indeed this version of the story falls closest yet to the truth. The West’s silence in the face of an otherwise spectacular opportunity to advance its agenda may also indicate its faltering legitimacy and the loss of confidence that it can rewrite, at will, reality to suit its agenda – as it has done so many times in the past.
The West also faces a growing crisis if its terrorist proxies continue using chemical weapons, whatever their origin. CNN had reported in December of 2012, in a report titled, “Sources: U.S. helping underwrite Syrian rebel training on securing chemical weapons,” that:

The United States and some European allies are using defense contractors to train Syrian rebels on how to secure chemical weapons stockpiles in Syria, a senior U.S. official and several senior diplomats told CNN Sunday.

The training, which is taking place in Jordan and Turkey, involves how to monitor and secure stockpiles and handle weapons sites and materials, according to the sources. Some of the contractors are on the ground in Syria working with the rebels to monitor some of the sites, according to one of the officials.

This would implicate the West directly in giving terrorists using chemical weapons against Syria’s population the knowledge and training to handle just such weapons. While the West continues to insist there is a divide between the terrorists it is arming, funding, and training, and the terrorists openly fighting under the banner of sectarian extremism, it is clear that even the US’ hand-picked “interim government” is run entirely by the sectarian extremist organization, the Muslim Brotherhood. Thomson’s report implicates the Al Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra as possibly being behind the attack, and notes that it is listed by the US as a “terrorist organisation.” However, so-called Syrian opposition leader, Moaz al-Khatib, had personally defended al-Nusra, openly admitting it was fighting alongside his Western-backed front.
As the West’s credibility crumbles regarding Syria, and as its “success” in Libya continues to burn, its arming, training, aiding and abetting of terrorists carrying out increasingly horrific atrocities which now appear to include the use of chemical weapons, will haunt them not only in their pursuit of transforming the Levant, but in many years to come, in regards to all of their geopolitical ambitions.

There’s a strange story out there about Syrian President Bashar Assad’s assassination and possible death. It has little merit but the sourcing is interesting.
Gateway Pundit reported: BREAKING: Assad Shot By Bodyguard – Hospitalized in Damascus – Posted by Jim Hoft on Sunday, March 24, 2013, 12:22 PM
The sourcing on this leads to a French publication, JSS. Gateway Pundit listed the link as “Translated from JSS News:”
JSS, a French online publication, cites the “Arab Media” as its source on Assad’s death. This is when the story falls apart.

“Update: According to Arab media www.eltira.org , Bashar al-Assad would have been seriously wounded by gunfire last night Saturday, March 23 by his bodyguard but Iran is not dead. He is currently hospitalized, between life and death, Shami Hospital in Damascus which the streets were closed.
“Proprietary information (in France): According to reports in the Arab press (and then republished in the Israeli press ) [NEWS1] information that journalists say they have “verified” the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was killed this morning by one of his bodyguards. An important safety device has been set up at the hospital in Damascus.” JSS News, March 24, 2013

Let’s look at what JSS calls the “Arab media.” The first source was the web site www.eltira.org
A whois search for eltira.org revealed the following: ”
Admin Name: Fadi Mansour, Organization: Fadi Mansour, City: tira hamsholash, Country: IL
But maybe the translation from French to English was misleading. Surely, the JSS link to the “Arab press” means media out of an Arab country. Clicking in the link gets us to Alarab.net with an Arabic front page.
Wrong again. A whois search for alarab.net revealed the it is administrative, technical and billing contact is Fayez Eshtiwy of Eksal Village, IL, also located in Israel.
Further searching revealed what IPAddress.com had to say about Alarab.net: “When pulling the information for bab.Alarab.net, we found that the organization tied to” “Israel’s leading internet and international telecommunications provider,” Bezeq International.
All this brought us back to truth in labeling Israeli media, News. That organization reported the following (Hebrew with Google translation)

We have a right wing blogger in Washington referring us to a French news service specializing in Israeli diplomatic news, JSS, which announces the attack on Assad and then gives a source that implies it’s the “Arab media” – eltira.org. But it turns out the organization is registered in Israel. The unambiguous “Arab news” source, Al Arab, has similar problems regarding Arab authenticity. While the page is written in Arabic, the administrative contact is in Israel with the Alarab.net web site associated with a top Israel internet company.
Here’s how the story is reported in the Israeli media after all that massaging by Israeli focused or owned publications, we get the official story in the Israeli media (or maybe that’s fringe media).

In the past few days, I received an Israeli briefing document outlining Israel’s war plans against Iran. The document was passed to me by a high-level Israeli source who received it from an IDF officer.  My source, in fact, wrote to me that normally he would not leak this sort of document, but:

“These are not normal times. I’m afraid Bibi and Barak are dead serious.”

The reason they leaked it is to expose the arguments and plans advanced by the Bibi-Barak two-headed warrior. Neither the IDF leaker, my source, nor virtually any senior military or intelligence officer wants this war. While whoever wrote this briefing paper had use of IDF and intelligence data, I don’t believe the IDF wrote it. It feels more likely it came from the shop of national security advisor Yaakov Amidror, a former general, settler true-believer and Bibi confidant.  It could also have been produced by Defense Minister Barak, another pro-war booster.
I’ve translated the document from Hebrew with the help of Dena Shunra.
Before laying out the document, I wanted to place it in context. If you’ve been reading this blog you’ll know that after Bibi’s IDF service he became the marketing director for a furniture company. Recent revelations have suggested that he may have also served in some capacity either formally or informally in the Mossad during that period.
This document is a more sophisticated version of selling bedroom sets and three-piece sectionals. The only difference is that this marketing effort could lead to the death of thousands.
This is Bibi’s sales pitch for war. Its purpose is to be used in meetings with members of the Shminiya , the eight-member security cabinet which currently finds a 4-3 majority opposed to an Iran strike. Bibi uses this sales pitch to persuade the recalcitrant ministers of the cool, clean, refreshing taste of war. My source informs me that it has also been shared in confidence with selected journalists who are in the trusted inner media circle (who, oh who, might they be?).
This is Shock and Awe, Israel-style. It is Bibi’s effort to persuade high-level Israeli officials that Israel can prosecute a pure technology war that involves relatively few human beings (Israeli, that is) who may be put in harm’s way, and will certainly cost few lives of IDF personnel.
Bibi’s sleight of hand here involves no mention whatsoever of an Iranian counter-attack against Israel. The presumption must be that the bells and whistles of all those marvelous new weapons systems will decapitate Iran’s war-making ability and render it paralyzed. The likelihood of this actually happening is nearly nil.
There will be those who will dispute the authenticity of this document. I’m convinced it is what my source claims, based on his prior track record and the level of specificity offered in the document. It references cities by name and the facilities they contain. It names new weapons systems including one Israel supposedly hasn’t even shared with the U.S.
No, it’s real. Or I should say that while it’s real, it is the product of the Israeli dream factory which manufactures threats and then creates fabulist military strategies to address them. The dream factory always breaks the hearts of the families of those whose members fall victim to it. It never produces the result it promises, nor will it do so here.
Remember Bush-era Shock and Awe? Remember those promises of precision-guided cruise missiles raining death upon Saddam Hussein’s Iraq? Remember Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” ceremony on the deck of the USS Lincoln, only six or seven years premature? Remember the promises of decisive victory? Remember 4,000 U.S. dead, not to mention hundreds of thousands of Iraqis?
Now, think of what an Israeli war against Iran could turn into. Think about how this sanitized version of 21st century war could turn into a protracted, bloody conflict closer to the nine-year Iran-Iraq War:

The Israeli attack will open with a coordinated strike, including an unprecedented cyber-attack which will totally paralyze the Iranian regime and its ability to know what is happening within its borders.  The internet, telephones, radio and television, communications satellites, and fiber optic cables leading to and from critical installations—including underground missile bases at Khorramabad and Isfahan—will be taken out of action.  The electrical grid throughout Iran will be paralyzed and transformer stations will absorb severe damage from carbon fiber munitions which are finer than a human hair, causing electrical short circuits whose repair requires their complete removal.  This would be a Sisyphean task in light of cluster munitions which would be dropped, some time-delayed and some remote-activated through the use of a satellite signal.
A barrage of tens of ballistic missiles would be launched from Israel toward Iran.  300km ballistic missiles would be launched from Israeli submarines in the vicinity of the Persian Gulf.  The missiles would not be armed with unconventional warheads [WMD], but rather with high-explosive ordnance equipped with reinforced tips designed specially to penetrate hardened targets.
The missiles will strike their targets—some exploding above ground like those striking the nuclear reactor at Arak–which is intended to produce plutonium and tritium—and the nearby heavy water production facility; the nuclear fuel production facilities at Isfahan and facilities for enriching uranium-hexaflouride.  Others would explode under-ground, as at the Fordo facility.
A barrage of hundreds of cruise missiles will pound command and control systems, research and development facilities, and the residences of senior personnel in the nuclear and missile development apparatus.  Intelligence gathered over years will be utilized to completely decapitate Iran’s professional and command ranks in these fields.
After the first wave of attacks, which will be timed to the second, the “Blue and White” radar satellite, whose systems enable us to perform an evaluation of the level of damage done to the various targets, will pass over Iran.  Only after rapidly decrypting the satellite’s data, will the information be transferred directly to war planes making their way covertly toward Iran.  These IAF planes will be armed with electronic warfare gear previously unknown to the wider public, not even revealed to our U.S. ally.  This equipment will render Israeli aircraft invisible.  Those Israeli war planes which participate in the attack will damage a short-list of targets which require further assault.
Among the targets approved for attack—Shihab 3 and Sejil ballistic missile silos, storage tanks for chemical components of rocket fuel, industrial facilities for producing missile control systems, centrifuge production plants and more.

While the level of specificity in this document is, in some senses, impressive, in one critical aspect it is deficient.  Muhammad Sahimi points out that the current chief of the Revolutionary Guards, when he assumed his position in 2007, deliberately addressed the issue of over-centralization of command and control by dividing the nation into 31 districts.  Each of these has its own independent command and control facilities and mechanisms.  So Israel wouldn’t be able to knock out a single facility and paralyze the IRG.  They’d need to knock out 31 separate sets of facilities–a much harder task.
There seems also to be an assumption that Iran’s leaders and nuclear specialists live nice domestic lives and that Israeli intelligence knows where they all live and can easily target them.  In truth, the most senior Iranian military and scientific figures live clandestine lives and it’s hard for me to believe even the Mossad knows where they are and how to target them.
So it appears that Netanyahu believes he’s fighting Saddam circa 2003.  During that war, the Iraqi Revolutionary Guards were centralized and knocking out one C&C center could decapitate the entire military apparatus.  But Iran has learned from Saddam’s mistakes.  It isn’t fighting the last war as Bibi appears to be.  It is preparing for the next one.  While Israel may have new tricks up its sleeve that no one in the world has yet seen, if it doesn’t understand the nature of the enemy, its defenses, its structure, etc. then it can’t win.

Kerry Demands Iraq Stop “Arms Flow” to Syria even as US Arms/Funds Al Qaeda

Absurd demands were put forth by US Secretary of State John Kerry, regarding Iraqi airspace and alleged aircraft passing through it with arms and cash supposedly destined for the Syrian government. The Washington Post reported in its article, “Kerry: Iraq helping Syria’s Assad by allowing arms flow,” that:

Iraq is helping to shore up the besieged regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad by allowing Iranian arms and fighters to cross into Syria from Iraq, Secretary of State John F. Kerry charged Sunday.
During an unannounced trip to Baghdad, Kerry lobbied Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki for greater scrutiny of flights that cross Iraq. He appeared to make little headway with Maliki, a Shiite with long ties to Iran and little inclination to do U.S. bidding 10 years after the American invasion that toppled dictator Saddam Hussein.

As Kerry lodged his feckless complaints, the United States, UK, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Israel continue to ship literally thousands of tons of weapons to sectarian extremists arrayed against the Syrian government since at least 2007. A recent report published by the London Telegraph titled, “US and Europe in ‘major airlift of arms to Syrian rebels through Zagreb’,” stated of such shipments:

… 3,000 tons of weapons dating back to the former Yugoslavia have been sent in 75 planeloads from Zagreb airport to the rebels, largely via Jordan since November

The story confirmed the origins of ex-Yugoslav weapons seen in growing numbers in rebel hands in online videos, as described last month by The Daily Telegraph and other newspapers, but suggests far bigger quantities than previously suspected.

The shipments were allegedly paid for by Saudi Arabia at the bidding of the United States, with assistance on supplying the weapons organised through Turkey and Jordan, Syria’s neighbours. But the report added that as well as from Croatia, weapons came “from several other European countries including Britain”, without specifying if they were British-supplied or British-procured arms.

British military advisers however are known to be operating in countries bordering Syria alongside French and Americans, offering training to rebel leaders and former Syrian army officers. The Americans are also believed to be providing training on securing chemical weapons sites inside Syria.

And while the US insists that these weapons are being funneled into the hands of “moderate,” “secular” fighters by its own CIA agents operating on and across the Turkish-Syrian border, it is admitted that Al Qaeda’s Syrian franchise, al-Nusra, has emerged as the most effective, organized fighting force amongst the so-called opposition. CNN’s article, “Syrian opposition group turns down leader’s resignation,” stated explicitly that:

Fighting in the area has intensified in recent days as rebels backed by Nusra Front fighters gain territory.
The radical Islamist al-Nusra Front has emerged as one of the most effective groups in the Syrian resistance, drawing on foreign fighters with combat experience in Iraq and elsewhere.
In December, the U.S. State Department moved to blacklist the rebel group as a foreign terror organization linked to al Qaeda in Iraq.

If 3,000 tons of weapons were sent to moderates in Syria by the US and Saudi Arabia, who could possibly be sending even more weapons to al-Nusra, establishing them as the premier armed front in Syria? Clearly, such a turn of events is not possible without al-Nusra receiving extensive and continuous state-sponsorship. Indeed, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel had conspired as early as 2007 to supply just such groups with arms, cash, and military aid to overthrow the Syrian government. Documented in Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh’s article, “The Redirection: Is the Administration’s new policy benefiting our enemies in the war on terrorism?” it was stated that:

“To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has coöperated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.”

It is beyond doubt that the West and its regional allies are now doing just that – bolstering militant groups sympathetic to Al Qaeda, and the 3,000 tons of weapons were funneled primarily, and intentionally into the hands of Al Qaeda’s al-Nusra front. Disturbing then, that Kerry is demanding that Iraq cease alleged aid being sent to Syria to fight these extremist groups – groups the US sent over 4,000 of its own sons to fight and die during the 10 year occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, and extremists who were allegedly behind the death of 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001, tipping off a costly and unending “War on Terror.”
The absurdity of Secretary John Kerry’s demands, and the unraveling agenda he now represents, set new lows for American foreign policy and will irreparably damage America’s image globally for many years to come. The insidious campaign pursued versus Syria, now at this juncture, has damaged Western interests and global standings to such an extent that even victory tomorrow would not avert or blunt the lasting ramifications of its willful, murderous, hegemonic aggression.

President Barack Obama’s Mideast trip not turning out to be the rip-roaring success he’d hoped it would be. During a joint press conference Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Barack Obama reaffirmed the “unbreakable bonds” between Israel and the U.S.
This apparently didn’t set too well with Palestinians in Gaza. Protesters there ripped and burned the American flag as they chanted “Allahu Akbar.” They marched in the streets carrying signs and banners proclaiming “Your bulldozers demolish Palestinian homes, Obama.”
On Thursday, the president visited the West Bank and met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and compared Israeli-Palestinian differences to those between the U.S. and Canada.

Are All Those Guns and Ammunition for Obama’s Civilian National Security Force?

Speculation abounds surrounding the 2 billion rounds of ammunition purchased by the Department of Homeland Security and other national alphabet agencies in recent years. Moreover, as the White House and their cohorts in Congress contemplate the disarming of American citizens, the very assault weapons purported to be so dangerous in the hands of law abiding gun owners are being purchased in mass quantities by local and federal law enforcement agencies.
So what is the purpose and motivation behind the government’s continued efforts to stockpile so much firepower?
One frightening theory could explain what the President and his national security apparatus are up to.

Many of you will remember a story I broke a long time ago – about presidential candidate Barack Obama’s little-noticed announcement that, if elected in 2008, he wanted to create a “civilian national security force” as big, as strong and as well-funded as the Defense Department.
Here’s what he actually said at a campaign stop in Colorado July 2, 2008:
“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
Could what we see happening now in the Department of Homeland Security be the beginning of Obama’s dream and our constitutional nightmare?
We never heard another mention of Obama’s “civilian national security force” again. Not in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012.
But that brings us up to 2013 and the highly unusual stockpiling of firearms and ammo by Homeland Security – firearms and ammo that Obama would like to deny to ordinary citizens who are not members of his domestic army.
Well, I hate to say it, but I may have predicted this, too.
In a Halloween column last fall, I stated that, if re-elected, Obama would “declare a full-scale war on his domestic opposition.”
I wasn’t joking. I was deadly serious – so serious, in fact, that I did something I pledged I would never do: Vote for Mitt Romney. It was a matter of self-defense and self-preservation. I said then that a second term of Obama might mean we would never see another free and fair election in America. (I’m not even sure we saw one in 2012.) I suggested due process would go the way of the horse and buggy. I said I expected Obama would move to shut down or destroy all independent media. I even speculated that his biggest critics would eventually be rounded up in the name of national security.
Think about it.
Why does the civilian Department of Homeland Security need billions of rounds of ammunition?
This is the agency that is responsible for policing the border. But it doesn’t.
This is the agency that is responsible for catching terrorists. But it doesn’t.
So why does Homeland Security need so many weapons and enough hollow-point rounds to plug every American six times?

As for concern about the type of bullets — hollow points, which expand upon impact — the statement said the type is “standard issue” and is used during “mandatory quarterly firearms qualifications and other training sessions.” (link)

While the majority of Americans will take this explanation at face value, there are some key facts that suggest the Department of Homeland Security is mobilizing for a significant future action against the American people.

• The US military has been actively war-gaming worst-case scenarios that include economic collapse and civil unrest, going so far as to simulate wide-scale food riots. 
• Just last month the military deployed gunships over Miami and executed a training exercise with local police departments. A few days later, similar exercises were held in Houston, TX. Last year these “exercises” also included ground forces, armored personnel carriers and tanks on the streets of St. Louis.
• Despite overwhelming opposition, there is an overt and focused movement to disarm Americans of their right to bear semi-automatic personal defense rifles and any other firearms deemed dangerous to the public. Those calling for this disarmament qualify their positions by claiming these weapons are not necessary for sporting, hunting, or personal defense. As if this provision of the US Constitution doesn’t even exist, there is a total blackout on the fundamental intent of the Second Amendment, which allows for citizens to bear arms to protect themselves against tyrannical government.
• Heavily armored vehicles have been spotted all over the country, and many local law enforcement agencies have taken possession of these vehicles, normally reserved for military engagements, and have put them to use in neighborhoods and communities around America.
• Congress has authorized the deployment of some 30,000 surveillance drones in the skies of America, to be available for use by intelligence agencies by 2015.
• The National Security Agency is building a massive spy center capable of recording, aggregating and analyzing every digital interaction on the planet – phones, internet, purchasing patterns, travel, and even what we say in the privacy of our own homes. A 30 year veteran of the NSA says the data mining program is so vast it will “create an Orwellian state.”
• The US government, in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, has created legislation that directly targets American citizens. The Patriot Act makes it possible for anyone who is identified as attempting to subvert government legitimacy as a terrorist, and also allows for the warrantless wiretapping of everyone for any reason. Under the Patriot Act and expanded government definitions, just about anyone now qualifies as a domestic terrorist.
• The National Defense Authorization Act takes the Patriot Act even further, allowing the government to detain anyone suspected of being a terrorist indefinitely and without trial – this includes American citizens living in the United States.
• And, as Joseph Farah points out, the President specifically claimed he would create a civilian national security police force as large as the US military. If he meant it, then we’re talking about 2 million or so civilians that will be armed, deputized and backed by the government. To do what? We’re not quite sure, but apparently we need these civilians for something important, or else the President wouldn’t have brought it up.

These are but a few examples of what our government has been up to. There are hundreds of others.
Now put all those together and the complete puzzle begins to emerge.
This surveillance infrastructure and control grid are being designed not for foreign terrorists or rogue nations that may do harm to America. They have been designed for you.
You, my fellow American, are the enemy.
