Time Running Out: CT Gun Owners Will Turn into Criminals After Jan. 1st Unless They Do This
December 24, 2013 by · 53 Comments
In response to the Sandy Hook shootings law makers in Connecticut have decided to turn gun owners into criminals. After all, if they can’t stop the ones committing the crimes just go after the law abiding gun owners instead right?
And time is running out for any CT gun owners who happen to own any one of the myriad of guns that are now being banned from the state.
Apparently the anti-gunners in the constitution state have drunk the Kool-Aid and are turning most centerfire semi-automatic rifles into “assault rifles”, even though they don’t really know what that means. Connecticut residents who own an “assault weapon” as defined in the state’s new gun law have until Jan. 1, 2014, to register them.
Magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds must also be registered with the state.
If the owners of these “assault weapons” do not register their guns they will face a felony charge that carries a mandatory minimum one-year prison sentence.
You can see a list of all of the banned “assault weapons” at this link. This was sent to all of the Connecticut federally licensed firearms dealers. You will notice that rifles are banned for simply having an adjustable stock and a detachable magazine. Seems like some of these rifles are banned for simply looking like an “assault rifle”. But this is what happens when people who know nothing about guns make laws regarding them.
Connecticut Citizens Defense League president, Scott Wilson, told NBC CT: “There are going to be a lot of people on January 1st that will wake up and unknowingly be felons by the definition of the law.”
There is only one reason for requiring that these firearms be registered. And I think our readers know exactly what that is.
