FDA Finally Admits Chicken Meat Contains Cancer-Causing Arsenic

FDA Finally Admits Chicken Meat Contains Cancer-Causing Arsenic

After years of sweeping the issue under the rug and hoping no one would notice, the FDA has now finally admitted that chicken meat sold in the USA contains arsenic, a cancer-causing toxic chemical that's fatal in high doses. But the real story is where this arsenic comes from:It's added to the chicken feed on purpose!
Even worse, the FDA says its own research shows that the arsenic added to the chicken feed ends up in the chicken meat where it is consumed by humans. So for the last sixty years, American  consumers  who eat conventional chicken  have been swallowing arsenic, a known cancer-causing chemical. (http://www.phillyburbs.com/news/loc...)

Until this new study, both the  poultry industry  and the FDA denied that arsenic fed to  chickensended up in their  meat.  The fairy-tale excuse story we've all been fed for sixty years is that "the arsenic is excreted in the chicken feces." There's no scientific basis for making such a claim... it's just what the poultry industry wanted everybody to believe.
But now the evidence is so undeniable that the manufacturer of the chicken feed product known as Roxarsone has decided to pull the product off the shelves (http://www.grist.org/food-safety/20...). And what's the name of this manufacturer that has been putting arsenic in the chicken feed for all these years? Pfizer, of course -- the very same company that makes vaccines containing chemical adjuvants that are injected into children.
Technically, the company making the Roxarsone chicken feed is a subsidiary of Pfizer, called Alpharma  LLC. Even though Alpharma now has agreed to pull this toxic  feed chemical off the shelves in the United States, it says it won't necessarily remove it from feed  products  in other countries unless it is forced by regulators to do so. As reported by AP:
"Scott Brown of Pfizer Animal Health's Veterinary Medicine Research and Development division said the company also sells the ingredient in about a dozen other countries. He said Pfizer is reaching out to regulatory authorities in those countries and will decide whether to sell it on an individual basis." (http://www.usatoday.com/money/indus...)

Arsenic? Eat more!
But even as its arsenic-containing product is pulled off the shelves, the FDA  continues its campaign of denial, claiming arsenic in chickens is at such a low level that it's still safe to eat. This is even as the FDA says arsenic is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of  cancer.
TheNational Chicken Councilagrees with the FDA. In a statement issued in response to the news that Roxarsone would be pulled from feed store shelves, it stated, "Chicken is safe to eat" even while admitting arsenic was used in many flocks grown and sold as chicken meat  in the United States.
What's astonishing about all this is that the FDA tells consumers it's safe to eat cancer-causing arsenic but it's dangerous to drink  elderberry   juice! The FDA recently conducted an armed raid in an elderberry juice  manufacturer, accusing it of the "crime" of selling "unapproved drugs." (http://www.naturalnews.com/032631_e...) Which  drugs  would those be? The elderberry juice, explains the FDA. You see, the elderberry juice magically becomes a "drugs" if you tell people how it can help support good health.
The FDA has also gone after dozens of other  companies  for selling natural herbal products or nutritional products that enhance and support  health. Plus, it's waging a war on raw milk which it says is dangerous. So now in America, we have a food and drug regulatory agency that says it's okay to eat arsenic, but dangerous to drink elderberry juice or raw milk.
Eat more poison, in other words, but don't consume any healing foods. That's the FDA, killing off Americans one meal at a time while protecting the profits of the very companies that are poisoning us with their deadly ingredients.
Oh, by the way, here's another sweet little disturbing fact you probably didn't know about hamburgers and conventional beef  : Chicken litter containing arsenic is fed to cows in factory beef operations.  So the arsenic that's pooped out by the chickens gets consumed and concentrated in the tissues of cows, which is then ground into hamburger  to be consumed by the clueless masses who don't even know they're  eating  second-hand chicken crap. 160,000 Russian Troops Mobilized As World Watches Trayvon Martin Case

| July 15, 2013 | 0 Comments

() As the world reacts to the Trayvon Martin case, including prominent rappers calling out the media over its race baiting, reports detail around 160,000 Russian troops were called to ‘combat readiness’ following an Israeli strike on Russian-made missiles in Syria.
Is the nation too distracted by the George Zimmerman trial’s 24/7 news cycle to even know about this developing situation that coincides with escalating tensions between Russia and US-affiliated nations around the world?
First up is the new revelation that Israel was behind an attack on Syria that targeted Russian-made anti-ship missiles. According to the Israeli National News sources within the U.S., Israel recently launched an attack on Russian missiles that were apparently sold to Syria and stationed at a critical point within the country. Until now, it was unknown who had initiated the bombing that had rocked Latakia on July 5th.
Ultimately bombing the ‘critical point’ holding the Russian’s Yakhont anti-ship missile, Israel is believed to have initiated the bombing via aircraft or a ship in the Mediterranean. According to the anonymous U.S. official who corresponded with CNN:
“This attack was either by air raid or long-range missiles fired from boats in the Mediterranean.”
Now enter new reports surfacing from the Russian Defense Ministry on orders of Vladimir Putin that the largest military ‘state of full combat readiness’ drill is taking place with around 160,000 troops ordered to report from all corners of the military. Specifically, the translated reports detail how Putin is calling together not just Armed Forces of Russia troops, but all forms of long-range aircraft, 70 naval ships, bomber and fighter aircraft, and so on.
According to a syndicated Russian announcement:
“On Friday, during a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu Russian, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an unexpected military drill, urging all forces to enter a state of full combat readiness on the night of July 13.”
In other words, these reports says that Putin is essentially assembling the entire military in the largest such event since the Soviet Union. This is coming in from the Russian language version of Forbes and other Russian sources translated to English.
Is this massive ‘state of full combat readiness’ initiated on July 13th just a training exercise with no further intention, or is it related to to the attack by Israel on Russian-made missiles in Syria? Whether this is truly the initiation of a massive conflict between world powers or not, it’s certainly worth the attention of the media and general public. While it does take a lot of digging to sort through all of these Russian language announcements and get to the bottom of the story, it’s much more important than what George Zimmerman’s lawyers ate for breakfast this morning.

Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the beating death of a former U.S. Marine who was found unconscious outside of a party at a Cobb County, Georgia, apartment complex in March.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Arthur Batchelor, 37, Tarell Secrest, 36, and Jason Hill, 35, were taken into custody on Tuesday for allegedly killing 34-year-old Zachary 'Zach' Gamble. Another suspect, 38-year-old Sean Hall, of Atlanta, was arrested on Monday.
Hall is also accused of violating his probation stemming from a DUI conviction in 2009, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.
Lynell Batchelor, 37, is accused of beating to death Iraq War veteran Zachary Gamble.
Tarell Secrest, 36, was arrested for his alleged role in the death of ex-Marine Zachary Gamble.

Jason Hill, 35, was taken into custody for allegedly participating in the fatal beating of Iraq war veteran Zach Gamble.
Sean DGene Hall, 38, was arrested on Monday and charged with killing former Marine Zachary Gamble.

All four suspects have been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and aggravated battery. They are being held without bail in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, police say.

On Tuesday, the victim's mother, Tina Robbins, told the Marietta Daily Journal that she was 'elated' that arrests have been made in her son's killing.
Zachary Gamble, a former U.S. Marine, served two tours of duty in Iraq between 2001 and 2005.

Gamble, of Acworth, Georgia, was attending a friend's birthday party in the Concord Chase Apartments near Smyrna on March 25 when he got into an altercation with a group of men in the parking lot, according to investigators.
Police would not explain what happened next, only saying that they received a call from a taxi driver at 6am who reported having struck Gamble.

When officers arrived on the scene, the 34-year-old man was discovered unconscious on the ground. Police, however, believe Gamble's fatal injuries did not stem from being hit by a vehicle.
Gamble was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, where he was removed off life support on April 8 without ever regaining consciousness.
While Gamble's autopsy results have not been made public, the victim's relatives have said that Gamble died from severe head trauma

Mike Gerhard, of the Cobb County Medical Examiner's Officer, told the Marietta Daily Journal that officials are still waiting for Gamble's toxicology screen results, which could take 60 to 90 days.
Gamble, who served two tours of duty in Iraq between 2001 and 2005, is survived by his 7-year-old son, Luke.

Black Teens Kill White Baby; Media Silent

Black Teens Kill White Baby; Media Silent

baby Black Teens Kill White Baby; Media Silent
Take a minute and try to imagine what would happen in this country if the following scenario had taken place:
A report describes how in broad daylight two white teenage boys tried to rob a black Brunswick, Georgia woman at gunpoint as she was peacefully pushing her 13 month old son in his stroller. When she resisted, pleading “I don’t have any money,” they callously shot and killed the baby.
The gun did not “go off by accident.” The white thug meant to shoot the black woman and did just that, hitting her twice, THEN turned the gun on the baby. A white thug calmly walked over to the stroller and shot the innocent black baby in the face.
Putting aside her own pain and fear, the loving black mother desperately tried to save her baby’s life by giving him CPR; but the helpless innocent child, shot in the face by a white assailant, died anyway.
We don’t have to imagine how the media would cover this story because unfortunately, except for the race of the killers and their victims which have been reversed, everything else in this scenario is true and actually happened.
Is there any doubt that if the killers were white, the New York Times would change its masthead to read “WHITES HATE AFRICAN AMERICANS ENOUGH TO KILL THEIR BABIES!” and keep it that way for two weeks? Where is the righteous indignation of the white media in this revolting black adult-on-white baby murder?  Where are the stories reminding readers that the New Black Panthers have consistently called for murdering white babies?
Is there any doubt that there would be wide brush accusations about white racial hatred coupled with calls for more affirmative action and slave reparations?
Where are the professionally aggrieved Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson?
Don’t hold your breath waiting for Jackson to descend on Brunswick chanting tired slogans about racism and the KKK. Sharpton is too busy making a fool of himself on his talk show to raise a voice in this case – the baby is white, after all. Neither of them has dredged up images of 80-year-old lynchings and beatings while beating his breast crying for “more gun control” to keep blacks safe from whites.
And the media? Its answer is: “We don’t cover black-on-white crime even when the victim is a baby – get over it.”

Friend: Michael Hastings Was Working on “Biggest Story Yet” About CIA

Sgt. Joe Biggs says journalist would never have driven at high speed

A friend of Michael Hastings told Fox News today that the Rolling Stone journalist was working on the “the biggest story yet” about the CIA before his suspicious death and that Hastings drove “like a grandma,” making it extremely out of character for him to be speeding in the early hours of the morning.
Sgt. Joe Biggs told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly that “something didn’t feel right” after Hastings sent a panicked email saying the authorities were on his tail, adding that the story of him driving at high speed in the early hours of the morning was completely out of character.
“His friends and family that know him, everyone says he drives like a grandma, so that right there doesn’t seem like something he’d be doing, there’s no way that he’d be acting erratic like that and driving out of control,” said Biggs, adding that “things don’t add up, there’s a lot of questions that need to be answered.”
Biggs said he had contacted Mercedes asking them if it was normal for their cars to “blow up to that extent” and for the engine to fly out 100 feet from the site of the crash.
Biggs also confirmed that Hastings was working on a story about the CIA and that it was “going to be the biggest story yet.”
As we reported yesterday, questions surrounding the death of Hastings are not only the domain of conspiracy theorists. Former counter-terror czar under two different presidents Richard Clarke told the Huffington Post that the fatal crash of Hastings’ Mercedes C250 Coupe was “consistent with a car cyber attack.”
“So if there were a cyber attack on the car — and I’m not saying there was,” he said, adding “I think whoever did it would probably get away with it,” and that “intelligence agencies for major powers” have such capabilities.
Clarke’s speculation that Hastings’ vehicle could have been remotely hijacked is echoed by Salon.com’s Andrew Leonard, who cites two studies by researchers at the University of Washington and the University of California, San Diego, “Experimental Security Analysis of a Modern Vehicle,” and “Comprehensive Experimental Analyses of Automotive Attack Surfaces.”
The studies detail how “it is a relatively trivial exercise to access the computer systems of a modern car and take control away from the driver.”
Questions about the circumstances behind Hastings’ death have persisted because he made a number of enemies in positions of power.
After Wikileaks reported that Hastings had contacted them in the hours before his death complaining about being under investigation by the FBI, the federal agency denied the claim.
According to Hastings’ colleague Cenk Uygur, the writer was, “incredibly tense and very worried, and was concerned that the government was looking in on his material,” and also a “nervous wreck” in response to the surveillance of journalists revealed by the AP phone tapping scandal and the NSA PRISM scandal.
BuzzFeed editor Ben Smith added that Hastings had told friends and family “he was concerned that he was under investigation.”
Another close friend who wishes to remain anonymous said that Hastings was “very paranoid that he was being watched by the FBI.”
It subsequently emerged that Hastings had written a panicked email shortly before his death telling his friends and colleagues that he was going into hiding to escape the attention of the authorities.
“Hey — the feds are interviewing my “close friends and associates,” the message said. “Also: I’m onto a big story, and need to go off the [radar] for a bit.”

African-American Leaders Deliver Agenda For Obama's Second Term

National Urban League President Marc Morial (R) speaks as Rev. Al Sharpton looks on after leaders of civic organizations met with President Barack Obama at the White House, Nov. 16, 2012.
Following a four-hour closed door meeting Monday, the leaders of four African-American advocacy groups emerged looking pleased to announce a collective wish list they plan to deliver to President Barack Obama for his second term.
The "black agenda," as the groups have called their wish list on Twitter, starts with ensuring the fiscal cliff doesn't disproportionately hurt black Americans. That's something Marc Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League, has worried about before. But Morial also listed five new priorities that came out of what he called Monday's "historic gathering." Those include: working for parity for blacks in education, health care and the economy; reforming the criminal justice system; and protecting and defending voting rights.
The White House did not immediately respond to request for comment about whether the president would make these priorities a focus during his second term.
[ENJOY: Political Cartoons on President Obama]
But according to Morial, the voting rights priority is key. "When our community was challenged by voter suppression...they reacted with power, with dignity and with force," he said.
Despite allegations by liberal advocacy groups that voter suppression tactics by the right hindered minority voting, blacks represented 13 percent of the electorate in 2012, a percentage about equivalent with 2008.
But Al Sharpton, the founder and president of the National Action Network and a liberal commentator for MSNBC, warned Monday that "the voter suppression tactics we saw this year are still in front of us."
Sharpton also compared the new black agenda with the Civil Rights March on Washington, a major demonstration by African-American civil rights groups in 1963 that led to two major pieces of legislation: the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
[STUDY: Blacks Feel Less Empowered Under Obama]
"It is in that spirit a half a century later we say that we'll work together, that we'll come together, to try to set an agenda," Sharpton said. While the new wish list is unlikely to lead to such historic legislation, unity by various African-American advocacy groups may prove important.
An October study from Washington University in St. Louis found that some black American groups, namely conservative and religious blacks, felt deeply disillusioned with the president. These groups said they felt less free when it came to political participation than they had under previous administrations, because of ideological differences they had with the president.
Morial acknowledged the importance of unity, though none of the four main advocacy groups involved in Monday's talks are headed up by conservative leaders. "Against the backdrop of... a great deal of hope and promise that we have in our president's second term," he said. "We felt it was important for us to come together."

How Both Rev. Al Sharpton and Michael Eric Dyson Tricked the Black Community

How Both Rev. Al Sharpton and Michael Eric Dyson Tricked the Black Community

by Yvette Carnell
African Americans “leaders” – or “liars,” in the case of Reverends Sharpton and Dyson – did a great disservice to their constituencies by failing to pressure President Obama. “These men selfishly took advantage of their proximity to power, and successfully used it as leverage for their personal brands, at the expense of the black community at large.

We weren’t smart. We were tribal.”
As a black media consumer who scans mountains of black media stories every day, I have to tell you, I get tired of being lied to. And the two biggest liars by far during President Obama’s first term have been Michael Eric Dyson and “Rev.” Al Sharpton.
In the lead up to the election, when Dr. Cornel West and Tavis Smiley both implored the black electorate to push Obama for a black agenda, both Sharpton and Dyson circled the wagons, insulating the White House from any criticism from the black community, ensuring that Obama would not be held to task, certainly not during his first term.
Presumably, Sharpton and Dyson safeguarded the president to ensure that he’d win reelection. Sharpton gave up on any serious assessment of Obama early, saying he wouldn’t offer any criticism of Obama during his first term. He was rewarded with an MSNBC show.
Dyson, who initially gave a fiery roundtable lecture on how blacks couldn’t allow racial symbolism to trump accountability, recently demonstrated a complete 180 in his debate with Black Agenda Report’s Glen Ford. His reward is coming, I’m sure.
But now there is good evidence that, contrary to the wisdom of Dyson and Sharpton, Obama didn’t need any protecting. He trounced Romney in Tuesday’s election, becoming one of only a handful of presidents to win 50 percent of the popular vote, and leaving me with no other choice than to believe that doing something substantive for black people during his first time wouldn’t have upended Obama’s election prospects.
The black community could’ve gotten its pound of flesh, much like the LGBT and Latino communities had already, if we’d not been snookered, listening to old “Marble Mouth” Sharpton and “Bee Boppin’” Dyson.
Being loyal to people who aren’t loyal to you will get you nowhere.”
Now we are all left hoping and wishing that, for the sake of his legacy, President Obama doesn’t forget about us during his second term. The smart thing to do would’ve been to secure something, such as legislation to reduce black unemployment or mass incarceration, before the election, but we weren’t smart. We were tribal.
To put it plainly, the black community got screwed by trusting two men who were never honest brokers in the political game they were playing. These men selfishly took advantage of their proximity to power, and successfully used it as leverage for their personal brands, at the expense of the black community at large.
Listen black people: Nobody cares about us. Not even the people who were hired to care about us care about us. My advice? F*ck ‘em. And I don’t just mean f*ck ‘em right now, I mean f*ck ‘em forever.
Al Sharpton’s nothing more than an old guy with a bad perm. And Dyson’s just a smart guy who talks too fast. Who cares. Ask yourself, for once, what do you want? What would you like to see President Obama do for black people? Put yourself and your family first. Then fight for that, no matter what. And if you find somebody with a platform who shares your view, all the better.
But being loyal to people who aren’t loyal to you will get you nowhere. You don’t need Sharpton or Dyson to tell you what to do or think. You only need courage to stand up for yourself and the people you love. Once your love for yourself and the people close to you becomes stronger than your love for Obama, or your respect for Sharpton or Dyson, then you’re ready to break free.
You don’t need Maybach money or a black prez to do it. You only need to love yourself more than you love everybody else. Love yourself, and then go for what you want. Everything else is just black noise. And it’s about time we drown it out.

“Outraged” Again: Al Sharpton's Long History of Racism and Vulgarity

“Outraged” Again: Al Sharpton's Long History of Racism and Vulgarity

Al Sharpton is now angry about “racism” in a newspaper cartoon, but his own ugly history of racism is unrivaled.

By John Perazzo
DiscoverTheNetworks.org
March 5, 2009

Poor Al Sharpton. He’s been quite vexed lately, in reaction to a supposedly “racist” newspaper cartoon lampooning the Obama administration’s $789 billion federal stimulus package. Caricaturing the February 16th police shooting of a crazed and violent chimpanzee in Stamford, Connecticut, the offending cartoon, published in the New York Post, showed two police officers standing over the body of a chimp they had just gunned down, saying: “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.” Perceiving the chimp in the cartoon to be a thinly veiled depiction of President Barack Obama, an outraged Sharpton swiftly organized a street protest calling for the Post to be shut down. His National Action Network website currently features a petition not only condemning the Post for its “blatant insensitivity to issues of race … and bias,” but also calling for “an immediate review” of the waiver that allows the paper to publish.

In the wake of the cartoon’s publication, Sharpton complained, “on behalf of the offended African-American community,” that this “
troublingincident “raises all the racial stereotypes we are trying to get away from in this country.” Calling the Posta racist rag sheet,” he demanded that the paper’s executives “reprimand their cartoonist for making inferences that are offensive and divisive.” “What does a chimpanzee have to do with the stimuli bill and the president?” a bewildered Sharpton asked. “What does any of it have to do with a chimpanzee being shot, other than you’re trying to make a very shrewd inference that the president and a monkey is the same thing?”

It seems to have escaped Sharpton’s understanding that Barack
Obama, the man he claims is represented by the chimp, did not write a single word of the stimulus bill. That colossal dishonor belongs to none other than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Appropriations Committee chairman David Obey, some fellow congressional Democrats, and a number of political lobbyists. In other words, in this particular single-frame New York Post cartoon, it was the incompetence and poor judgment of these (mostly white) individuals, and not of President Obama, that was the focus.

But alas, who can blame poor Al Sharpton for failing to comprehend any of this. After all, it isn’t his fault if the cartoonist, who claims that his intent was neither racist nor aimed at Obama, was not capable of articulating his thoughts as elegantly and as clearly as Sharpton. Few people are.

Indeed, who could forget the dulcet tones of Sharpton’s 1994 speech at New Jersey’s Kean College, where he lavished an audience of students and professors with pearls of eloquence and sensitivity like this:

“White folks was in the caves while we [blacks] was building empires … We built pyramids before Donald Trump ever knew what architecture was … we taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it.”[1]

Lest you think that Sharpton was being unkind in his reference to homosexuals, he subsequently explained that while his use of the word “homos” may have been “irresponsible,” it certainly “is not a homophobic term”[2]—leaving us to conclude that he probably meant to use the word only in its best sense. “Ho,” as Sharpton would lecture us in the wake of Don Imus’s April 2007 “nappy-headed hos” fiasco, is supremely offensive. But “homo,” technically, is not. Get it?

Sharpton’s Kean College speech also featured him explaining that America’s founders consisted of “the worst criminals, the rejects they sent from Europe and sent them to the colonies.”
[3]  “So [if] some cracker,” he continued, “come and tell you ‘Well my mother and father blood go back to the Mayflower,’ you better hold you pocket. That ain’t nothing to be proud of, that means their forefathers was crooks.”[4]

For people squeamish enough to recoil at Sharpton’s use of the term “cracker,” he had a ready explanation: “Cracker,” Sharpton informed us, is merely a “colloquial term used to describe a certain kind of bigot, who hates both blacks and Jews. It’s certainly not a racist term and certainly not an anti-Semitic term, because a cracker hates Jews and blacks.”[5]  Get it?

Recall, further, Sharpton’s rhetoric during the deadly 1991 anti-Semitic riots in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights section, which erupted after a seven-year-old black child named Gavin Cato had been accidentally killed by a car driven by a Hasidic Jew. At Cato’s funeral, Sharpton criticized the Jewish community and thereafter organized a series of massive, angry demonstrations which ultimately devolved into destructive bedlam. Sharpton and his supporters, of course, said that the good Reverend could not be held responsible for any of this; after all, they explained, Sharpton hadn’t made any explicit calls for violence.

But Efraim Lipkind, a former Hasidic resident of Crown Heights who had witnessed the riots of 1991, stated the following in a July 1994 sworn deposition: “Then we had a famous man, Al Sharpton, who came down, and he said Tuesday night, kill the Jews, two times. I heard him, and he started to lead a charge across the street to Utica.”
[6]

Sharpton emphatically denied having said or done this. Perhaps he didn’t. Perhaps Mr. Lipkind was incorrect. We do know with certainty, however, that Sharpton characterized Gavin Cato’s death as being not merely the result of a car accident, but rather “the social accident of apartheid.”[7] And we do know that Sharpton challenged local Jews—to whom he derisively referred as “diamond merchants”—to “pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house” to settle the score.[8] And we do know that, stirred in part by such rhetoric and false accusations, hundreds of Crown Heights blacks took violently to the streets for three days and nights of rioting, pelting Jewish homes with rocks, setting vehicles on fire, and shouting “Jew! Jew!”[9] And we do know that Sharpton’s pathetic response to the rioting was: “We must not reprimand our children for outrage, when it is the outrage that was put in them by an oppressive system.”[10] And we do know that Sharpton, while in Israel searching for the driver who had run over Gavin Cato, likened the Jewish state to “hell.”[11] But none of this, we are presumably to believe, rises to the “chimp” cartoon’s level of insensitivity.

Then in 1995, Sharpton and his National Action Network led an ugly, racist boycott against Freddy’s Fashion Mart, a Jewish-owned shop in Harlem, New York. The boycott started when Freddy’s owner, a Sephardic Jew named Fred Harari, announced that because he wanted to expand his own business, he would no longer sublet part of his building to the black-owned “Record Shack” run by a man named Sikhulu Shange. In response, an angry Shange threatened Harari, stopped paying rent, hired a bevy of picketers, and commenced a protracted boycott of Freddy’s. The street leader of the boycott, Morris Powell, was the head of Sharpton’s “Buy Black” Committee.

The boycott was marked by innumerable expressions of racial hatred that somehow failed to offend Sharpton’s ostensibly sensitive heart. For example, one male boycotter, identifying himself as “Shabazz,” screamed: “Don’t shop at Freddy’s. Don’t give the [expletive] Jew bastard one dime, he doesn’t have no respect for black women.” When Freddy’s manager, Steve Brodsky, asked Shabazz why he was using such language in an obviously tense environment, the latter replied: “Go [expletive] yourself white boy, you fat bastard.”
[12] On another occasion, Shabazz forced his way into the store and shouted, “I will be back to burn the Jew store down, burn, burn, burn.”[13]

Shabazz and his fellow demonstrators took their rhetorical cue from the aforementioned Morris Powell. Pledging to ensure “that this cracker [Harari] suffers,” Powell told New York’s WWRL Radio audience that “these people” (i.e., Jews) “just sponge and parasite [sic] all for the dollar.”[14]  Among Powell’s more infamous quotes was this: “Keep [going] right on by Freddy’s, he’s one of the greedy Jew Bastards killing our people. Don’t give the Jew a dime. [Expletive] the Jews.”[15]

“These phrases,” Steve Brodsky testified to the New York Supreme Court, “were then repeated in almost chant-like fashion over the next few days by the other demonstrators.”[16] Making frequent reference to “bloodsucking Jews” and “white crackers,” the boycotters threatened to “loot and burn the Jews.”[17]

Kareem Brunner, a black security guard employed by Freddy’s, also testified before the state Supreme Court, reporting that he personally had heard the boycotters say such things as: “Kill the crackers”; “Get the Jew bastards”; and “This block is for blacks only, get the Jew owners out.”[18]  Brunner elaborated:

“The protestors were threatening to kill all white people, calling them ‘crackers’ and [saying] that they were going to get ‘20 more niggers to loot and set fire to the merchandise both inside and outside the store’ … Whenever the police left, the protestors continued to ignore the wooden ‘horses’ the police had erected in front of the store, threatening customers up close and personal. I took these threats as directed against me personally also. I was told by them many times that I was a ‘cracker lover’ and ‘would get mine as a traitor’ [to the black race]…. Customers who came to the store, especially black customers, were likewise told that they ‘would get theirs’ for being ‘cracker lovers’ or ‘traitors.’ … On [one videotape of the boycott] you can clearly see one of the protestors gesturing as if he was striking a match and throwing it at the store. I have seen that same protestor do similar acts myself, but scream ‘burn Cracker burn’ when doing it….”[19]

Yet remarkably, none of these comments offended the oh-so-sensitive Al Sharpton. In fact, all of this occurred under his watchful, approving eye. Pledging that “[w]e will not stand by and allow them to move this brother [Mr. Shange] so some white interloper can expand his business on 125th Street,”[20] Sharpton exhorted local blacks to join “the struggle brother Powell and I are engaged in.”[21]  Just for the record, we should keep in mind that the so-called “white interloper” was the owner of the building.

Powell’s own words gave further evidence of the close alliance that existed between him and Sharpton, and confirmed the fact that Sharpton was a central, not a peripheral, figure in the boycott. Likening Sharpton’s “position to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ,” Powell told radio audiences at various times: “Brother Sharpton is on it. We have made contact with these crackers” (i.e., Freddy’s); “We just hope the community stands by [Sharpton]”; and “I don’t know what would have happened if we didn’t have Al Sharpton there.”
[22]

Over time the picketing became increasingly violent in tone, until one of the protesters, a 51-year-old ex-con named Roland Smith, eventually shot four whites inside the store and then set the building on fire—killing seven employees. One of the dead was the aforementioned Kareem Brunner.

Remember the foregoing quotes and facts the next time you see Al Sharpton standing before a news camera, blabbering his inevitable “outrage” over one thing or another. Remember who he is and what he has countenanced. And keep in mind that his chief accomplishment in life has been to demonstrate how even a racist, cartoonish imbecile can gain notoriety if he is simply unafraid to verbalize, unfiltered, every paranoid delusion and hateful thought that comes to his mind.

13 Americans Dead… The Suspect? President Obama

13 Americans Dead… The Suspect? President Obama

Arlington Cemetary 300x224 13 Americans Dead... The Suspect? President Obama
Washington, D.C. is a town run largely by lawyers. Naturally, this leads to a ton of convoluted and unnecessary legislation. And this overabundance of legality often leads to twisted logic in our nation’s capital – and confusion for us.
Take the two hotly debated (and often misused) words: “coup” and “terrorism.”
You see, when the Egyptian military recently ousted President Mursi, most of the world called that a coup. But for reasons you’ll see in a moment, the Obama administration doesn’t see it that way.
Then there’s Major Nidal Hasan’s attack on Fort Hood, Texas on November 5, 2009 – which left 13 people dead and 30 injured. You’d probably file that one under an act of terror. But according to Obama, you’d be wrong.
Time to shed some light on this classic Washington head fake. Technically Speaking…
“Coup d’état” is a French word that made its way into the English language.  The Oxford Dictionary identifies it as a French expression, meaning a “stroke of state.”
Military historian Edward Luttwak says that “[a] coup consists of the infiltration of a small, but critical, segment of the state apparatus, which is then used to displace the government from its control of the remainder.”
So, when the Egyptian military grabbed power and imprisoned President Mohamed Mursi, headlines across the world (correctly) screamed “Coup in Egypt.”
Yet in the Obama administration, twisted words reign, and take on surreal meanings. And in this case, they’re simply insisting that the situation in Egypt isn’t actually a coup.
Why?
Well, the Foreign Assistance Act states that if the “duly elected head of government is deposed by military act or decree,” then the United States must stop providing aid.
But Obama desperately wants to continue pumping $1.55 billion in aid to Egypt. And as I explained back in June, Egypt is collapsing and ungovernable. Without the continued flow of aid, the collapse will accelerate, and Egypt’s government would likely vanish.
This is just another classic example of the Obama team’s complete disregard for the law. And if Obama says it’s not a coup, then it’s not. Period.
More Than Semantics
A similar twist of words is playing out in the Fort Hood case. Obama’s lawyers insist that Hasan isn’t a terrorist, and that his attack is “work place violence” rather than an act of terrorism.
Talk about splitting hairs.
According to the FBI, Hasan was an avid reader of Jihadi websites. He worshipped at Jihadi-influenced mosques. Hasan even self-identifies as a “soldier of Allah.” He openly supported suicide attacks against non-Muslims, and received religious and operational inspiration from Anwar Al-Awlaki.
You may remember Al-Awlaki – he was the American citizen and al-Qaeda promoter killed by a U.S. drone because he was deemed a terrorist.
Now the administration’s refusal to call the Fort Hood attack a terrorist attack is seriously impacting the lives of the survivors and victims.
For example, the Pentagon refuses to treat the injured and dead as casualties of war. Consequently, they’ve been denied the Purple Heart medal that’s bestowed on Americans injured in battle.
The U.S. House even passed legislation to force the Pentagon to award the Purple Heart, along with disability and medical benefits associated with the honor, to the Fort Hood victims. Sadly, the legislation was killed by Obama supporters in the U.S. Senate.
Now the soldiers and their families are suing the Pentagon to reverse this decision in court. In the meantime, twisted interpretations by our government keep dollars flowing to Egypt while preventing us from adequately caring for injured Americans.
Unfortunately, laws are no good if the government can interpret their wording at will.

Operation Jersey Shore Vacation offers an oceanside respite to US military families

Operation Jersey Shore Vacation offers an oceanside respite to US military families

A tiny New Jersey charity provides a place for military families to vacation along with gift cards for groceries, free meals, and island outings.

Summer is a time when many families take vacations to exciting or exotic places, whether across the world or just a drive down to a shore town along one of the coasts.

But for American military personnel and their families, such a luxury is not usually an option.
Operation Jersey Shore Vacation, the idea of a high school teen, is an innovative project that seeks to change that.
Lexi Sinor was a junior in high school when, in 2009, she came up with the plan to work with her father, Randy – a real estate agent – to identify homeowners with summer homes who would be willing to donate a week-long stay to members of the armed forces to allow them the chance to partake in a luxury so infrequent for those in the military.
After Lexi moved to Utah to attend college, her sister, Amie, now 17, stepped up to the plate. And the project quickly became something Amie is passionate about.
“It is great to see them when they come in,” Amie says of the families they provide vacations for. “I have been raised to give back whenever I can … it makes me feel good.”
Now in its fifth summer, Operation Jersey Shore Vacation works closely with military leaders at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in central New Jersey and with the owners of summer homes to identify qualified military families and to secure a home for them to stay in for a week at the New Jersey shore.
Beyond just providing the space for a family to enjoy, the project also works with local vendors and community groups to provide gift cards for groceries and other necessities, as well as free meals or outings on the island.
One location, Fantasy Island,  provides the families with free access to its rides, games, and other attractions as a special honor to service members.
“Being down here and having this chance to be together on a vacation – I think that is just real quality time for everybody to reconnect,” says Mr. Sinor, who added that he has no trouble finding support from local businesses or homeowners to make such vacations a reality.
One impetus for starting the program came when his oldest daughter was traveling in Italy between Florence and Rome and an earthquake struck, Sinor says. It took some 16 hours for the family to find out that she was safe. That experience, he says, resonated with the family as an example of what the families of US military personnel go through on a regular basis.
“We appreciate so much what the individual military people and their families sacrifice for us,” he says.
Seeing the families with children enjoying the rides and games along the coastline is a memory he won’t soon forget, Sinor says.
“It is special to them,” he says, noting the impact such experiences can have on young children. “That’s a memory they might not otherwise have had.”
While running the program takes a lot of time and dedication from an already busy high school senior, Amie says it has become something she is passionate about. The teen still visits each family during its stay – to date, more than 25 families in the five summers the program has been in operation.
“It does take a lot of time, but it is totally worth it,” she says. “When you see the families … and how happy they are to be together, it is just priceless.”
The Sinor family now is working to obtain 501c3 nonprofit status for their program.
This summer, the shore also may be visited by a family or two who have been displaced by the tornadoes in Oklahoma. At the time of a recent interview, Amie was working to identify times for a pair of Oklahoma families to travel to the New Jersey shore to get some much-needed rest and relaxation.
Heather Lamb fondly recalls the vacation her family was able to take through the project last summer, when they spent a week on New Jersey's Long Beach Island. She enjoyed the week-long reprieve along with her husband, Benjamin, and two of their three sons – Connor and Keegan.
“It was the first vacation ever for the family,” Mrs. Lamb says. “Due to my husband’s deployment schedules, we never got time to actually plan everything. You cannot make plans – it is very difficult.”
She said that every detail of the week – from the honors they received at local businesses to the memories they created together – was priceless.
“It was the best week we had,” she says. “It was so relaxing. We were so humbled and overwhelmed with the generosity.”
