Libyans Release Basketball Players Held in Benghazi
Friday, 03 Jan 2014 11:43 AM
The two had been detained at the campus of Benghazi university and brought to the army's headquarters, Libyan security officials said on Thursday, without giving any details. The two were originally identified as both being American; a statement from Libya's Foreign Ministry on Saturday corrected that one of the players is from Cameroon.
They had been in Libya contracted to Al-Hilal basketball club.
"They were released last night," Salah al-Fetouri, president of the club, said.
Fetouri said the army, which runs checkpoints and patrols in the city, had detained them because they had questioned what they were doing at night on a campus normally closed for non-students.
"After their identity had been confirmed they were released," he said. One of the pair is of Cameroonian origin.
Few foreigners live these days in Benghazi, a city in the oil-rich east where assassinations and car bombs happen regularly.
The security situation has worsened in recent months in the North African country where the government is struggling to rein in militias and tribesmen who helped remove Moammar Gadhafi in 2011 and kept their guns.
Most countries have closed their consulates after the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans were killed during an Islamist assault on the U.S. Consulate in September 2012.
Separately, London on Friday confirmed the death of a British man who, along with a New Zealand woman, was found with gunshot wounds at Mellitah, about 60 miles west of Tripoli, outside a large oil and gas complex. © 2013 Thomson/Reuters. All rights reserved.
O'Reilly: NY Times' Benghazi Report Is 'Pure Bull,' Meant to Help Clinton
Woman Sues Husband, Claims He Spent Her Trust Fund Money on Mistress
O'Reilly specifically called out the Times reporters for not mentioning a Pentagon report from prior to the attack that highlighted links between Ansar al-Shariah - the group blamed for the attack - and al Qaeda.
The Times report was motivated by a desire to help Hillary Clinton's possible run for the White House, he argued, adding that the paper's "primary goal" is to help progressive causes and politicians.

"I could be wrong [about the Times' agenda], but I'm not wrong about the reporting. It is seriously flawed."
He then went on to discuss the report with Howard Kurtz, host of Media Buzz, and Bernie Goldberg.

By John Shiffman and Andrea Shalal-EsaWASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon repeatedly waived laws banning Chinese-built components on U.S. weapons in order to keep the $392 billion Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 fighter program on track in 2012 and 2013, even as U.S. officials were voicing concern about China's espionage and military buildup.
According to Pentagon documents reviewed by Reuters, chief U.S. arms buyer Frank Kendall allowed two F-35 suppliers, Northrop Grumman Corp and Honeywell International Inc, to use Chinese magnets for the new warplane's radar system, landing gears and other hardware. Without the waivers, both companies could have faced sanctions for violating federal law and the F-35 program could have faced further delays.
"It was a pretty big deal and an unusual situation because there's a prohibition on doing defense work in China, even if it's inadvertent," said Frank Kenlon, who recently retired as a senior Pentagon procurement official and now teaches at American University. "I'd never seen this happen before."
The Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, is examining three such cases involving the F-35, the U.S. military's next generation fighter, the documents show.
The GAO report, due March 1, was ordered by U.S. lawmakers, who say they are concerned that Americans firms are being shut out of the specialty metals market, and that a U.S. weapon system may become dependent on parts made by a potential future adversary.
The waivers apply to inexpensive parts, including $2 magnets, installed on 115 F-35 test, training and production aircraft, the last of which are due to be delivered in May 2014. Lawmakers noted that several U.S. companies make similar magnets.
Kendall said the waivers were needed to keep production, testing and training of the Pentagon's newest warplane on track; avert millions of dollars in retrofit costs; and prevent delays in the Marine Corps' plan to start using the jets in combat from mid-2015, according to the documents. In one case, it would cost $10.8 million and take about 25,000 man-hours to remove the Chinese-made magnets and replace them with American ones, the documents indicate.
Lockheed is developing the F-35, the Pentagon's costliest arms program, for the United States and eight countries that helped fund its development: Britain, Canada, Australia, Italy, Norway, Turkey, Denmark and the Netherlands. Israel and Japan have also placed orders for the jet.
The program is already years behind schedule and 70 percent over initial cost estimates. At the time Kendall was granting the waivers, officials were acutely worried that further delays and cost increases would erode the foreign orders needed to drive down the future cost of each warplane.
In the documents, Kendall underscored the importance of the F-35 program to ensure continued U.S. military superiority and counter potential emerging threats from nations developing their own stealth fighter jets, including Russia and China.
He said additional delays would force the United States and its allies to keep its legacy fighters flying longer, which would result in higher maintenance costs. It would also leave them with older jets, which Kendall said "cannot match the offensive and defensive capabilities provided by F-35."
The Pentagon first disclosed problems with non-U.S. magnets in a little-noticed written statement to Congress in the spring of 2013. But the statement did not name companies involved and did not disclose that some of the parts came from China.
Officials at Northrop, Honeywell and Lockheed declined to comment on the issue, referring queries to the Pentagon.
Joe DellaVedova, spokesman for the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) at the Pentagon, said the office was committed to ensuring that federal defense acquisition laws were strictly followed.
"There was never any risk of technology transfer or other security breach associated with these manufacturing compliance issues," he said. "The JPO is working with industry to put in place long-term solutions to avoid the need for future waivers."
In his statement to Congress, Kendall said he took the matter "extremely seriously" and said Lockheed was told to take aggressive steps to identify any further cases, and correct its compliance process.
Bill Greenwalt, a former senior defense official and now an analyst with the American Enterprise Institute think tank, said the risk to national security appeared low since the magnets in question had no programmable hardware.
However, he added: "This is an area that will need considerable due diligence in the future to ensure that components for more high-risk applications are safe from potential tampering and foreign mischief."
Since 1973, U.S. laws have banned the procurement of specialty metals produced outside the United States for use on U.S. weapons. A separate 2006 law also bans the purchase of end-use items and components that include such specialty metals.
The documents reviewed by Reuters show that Northrop first discovered the use of non-compliant Japanese magnets on the Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar it builds for the F-35 in August 2012, alerting the prime contractor, Lockheed, which then told the Pentagon.
A subsequent investigation of all parts on the F-35 turned up two more cases in which non-U.S. specialty metals were used on the F-35's radar, and on target assemblies built by Honeywell that are used for positioning doors and landing gear.
Northrop's radar was also found to contain $2 magnets made by Chengdu Magnetic Material Science & Technology Co, in China's Sichuan region, according to the documents.
The magnets used on the Honeywell target assemblies were acquired through Illinois-based Dexter Magnetic Technologies Inc.
Dexter and Chengdu Magnetic did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
KNOWING AND WILLFUL?
In June, the House Armed Services Committee asked the GAO to determine whether the companies involved "knowingly and willfully" supplied non-compliant magnets, and how the Pentagon investigated that question. The committee also asked GAO for recommendations on potential changes, such as fines or penalties for non-compliance to deter future problems, as well as suggestions for beefing up Pentagon supply chain management procedures.
In a document approving use of Chinese magnets on the batch of 32 F-35 fighter planes now being built, Kendall said neither Lockheed nor Northrop knowingly allowed the parts to be used.
In his waiver, Kendall wrote that Northrop's initial mistake, involving magnets built in Japan, was an "administrative oversight" and noted the firm quickly reported the matter when it was discovered in August 2012. It led to the comprehensive review that found two additional issues involving Chinese-built magnets.
It is not clear from the waiver documents whether Kendall determined that Honeywell's use of Chinese-built magnets involved a similar mistake.

God’s signature discovered in mars by NASA
WITH MATERIALS FROM CNN AND COLOURED CREATIVITY.
The use of “IN GOD WE TRUST” by the citizens of America, as a motto of United States of America [U.S.A] has not been changed or thrown out making it a big question why all these huge disasters raking across the country in recent times in a country that its citizen’s trust in God.
Yes there are great American evangelists who perform miracles to win souls for Christ. But what makes it shocking is that the country continues to record serious drop in religiosity despite their motto “IN WE GOD WE TRUST”. This has been proven by a WIN-Gallup Poll which conducted a survey and published their findings last year that,” America experienced a 13 percent drop in religiosity between 2005 and 2012 which did not reflect on its motto. Two months ago, precisely on May a devastated storm raked across central of Oklahoma State in America, which killed 24 people and flattened a whole city destroying properties worth billions of dollars beyond repair.
After the storm, ace journalist with the CNN Wolf Blitzer interviewed one of the survivors of the storm Rebecca Vitsmum who shocked many Christians and some non Christians shocked world over with her denied God’s existence.
This is how the interview went. “We are happy you are here. You guys did a great job, Blitzer said to Rebecca Vitsmum, who escaped from her house with her 19 month-old son right before the twister tore through it.
“You gotta thank the lord right? Did you thank the lord for that split decision? Vitsmum hesitated for a moment and smiled. I-I’m actually an atheist,” she said, laughing off the awkward moment.
“You are. All right. But you made the right call, Blitzer said. “We are here and I do not blame anyone for thanking the lord, Vitsmum said.
Two months after that interview with the Oklahoma storm survivor who denied the existence of the omnipotent God, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, [NASA] this month has announced that it Curiosity Rover has found an unambiguous message from God written on tablets in a Martian cave on the planet Mars.
According to an official press release, two giant stone slabs the size of a small elephants were located deep inside a cavern, abutting Aeolis Mars, a large mountain.
On one tablet is written on it a copy of the Ten Commandments and the text of John 3:16 written in 12 languages- including English, Spanish, Chinese, Basque and Hebrew. On the other tablet is a simple message in English reading “I AM REAL”.
According to top scientists who have studied the discovery extensively, these findings may have definitively established Christianity as the one true religion.
An Australian researcher working for NASA Mars Exploration Programme, Syms Covington says,” this is amazing. We went into the cave looking for water and we found proof of God’s existence instead.
“I mean how else did these tablets get there? I can tell you one thing: there is no a single atheist inside NASA’S control room now. What we saw was a jaw-dropping”. The findings of NASA’S CURIOSITY ROVER, has actually proved Genesis 1:1 right which says,” in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God”. The simple explanation is that NASA’s Curiosity Rover arrived on Mars in August last year with the mission to explore the Martian climate and geology for signs for habitability. Thus far the mission has been a success with the discovery of an ancient seabed and chemicals needed for life suggesting that Mars was once suitable for life. However, the tablets both of which are signed “Peace and Love”-YAHWEH” represent the rover’s most significant find to date and is perhaps the most important scientific event in history.
Explaining, a political scientist at Georgetown University said,” when people find out about this they will demand change in our society.”
He challenged that, “democracy will have to give way to theocracy. We are going to build more churches and reintroduce prayer into our schools. Abortion is defiantly going to be illegal within a few months.
Despite its potential significance, Covington fears that the Earth shattering discovery may not make the impact it should make because unfortunately the mass media is so anti-Christian they might not even pick up the story, he explains.
HEAR O ISRAEL THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE. BLESSED IS HIS KINGDOM FOREVER AND EVER. SO RISE UP O MEN OF GOD, OUR GOD IS REAL. End.

First, we had complaints from voters in at least six states that their intended votes for Mitt Romney on electronic touchscreen voting machines came up as votes for President Barack Obama.
Next we had reports of noncitizens being pressured by unions to register and vote in Nevada.
Then we had a number of voters across the country in a bit of a shock when they were told by poll workers on Election Day they had already voted, even though they hadn’t. At the same time, others bragged about voting multiple times on Twitter.
Next, we had reports of Obama oddly getting over 99% of the vote in certain precincts on Election Day. In fact, there were a substantial number of precincts where Mitt Romney got exactly zero votes. This doesn’t make any sense.
In addition to all these reports, True the Vote also documented:
- More than 24 million voter registrations are invalid, yet remain on the rolls nation-wide.
- There are over 1.8 million dead voters still eligible on the rolls across the country.
- More than 2.75 million Americans are registered to vote in more than one state.
- Maryland affiliates of True the Vote uncovered cases of people registering and voting after their respective deaths.
- 12 Indiana counties have more registered voters than residents.
- The Ohio Secretary of State admitted that multiple Ohio counties have more registered voters than residents.
- Federal records showed 160 counties in 19 states have over 100 percent voter registration.
- The Florida New Majority Education Fund, Democratic Party of Florida and the National Council of La Raza are currently under investigation for alleged voter registration fraud.
In the 1982 consent decree, the Republican Party made an agreement effectively barring the RNC from “engag[ing] and assist(ing) in voter fraud prevention unless the RNC obtains the court’s approval in advance.” They basically made an agreement with the Democratic Party NOT to ensure voting integrity and NOT to pursue suspected vote fraud.
The reason for the 1982 consent decree was because during the 1981 New Jersey gubernatorial election,According to The Judicial View:
“The RNC allegedly created a voter challenge list by mailing sample ballots to individuals in precincts with a high percentage of racial or ethnic minority registered voters and, then, including individuals whose postcards were returned as undeliverable on a list of voters to challenge at the polls. The RNC also allegedly enlisted the help of off-duty sheriffs and police officers to intimidate voters by standing at polling places in minority precincts during voting with National Ballot Security Task Force armbands. Some of the officers allegedly wore firearms in a visible manner.”To settle the lawsuit, the RNC and RSC entered into the 1982 consent decree. According to True the Vote, the decree roughly states today:
▪ The RNC may only be sued by the DNC for enforcement issues;
▪ Any activity to fight voter fraud must be submitted to the courts for a 10-day preclearance process (think Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act);
▪ Voter fraud prevention or “Ballot Security” is defined as “any program aimed at combating voter fraud by preventing potential voters from registering to vote or casting a ballot;”
▪ Poll watching is defined as “stationing individuals at polling stations to observe the voting process and report irregularities unrelated to voter fraud to duly-appointed state officials” (Emphasis ours);
▪ The Decree expires December 1, 2017 – with detailed caveats.
True the Vote continues:
“After the initial agreement, the RNC tried multiple attempts to get out of the deal, amid new evidence of fraudulent voting activities and new law. Each time, however, the federal courts denied the request and ceded little room for adjusting the agreement. Though this agreement only applies to the national parties, it effectively squashes any attempt at a coordinated effort for election integrity.”
True the Vote also explains the two glaring issues with this consent decree:
- First, the decree effectively robs poll watchers (and the ballot stakeholders that put them there) of their most important function: spotting and neutralizing attempted voter fraud. Indeed, poll watchers will mostly make note of procedural errors that could have negative impacts on voters. However, poll watchers also improve overall faith in the system when electors know that ALL of the rules are being enforced.
- Second, the definition of “Ballot Security” sets an unreasonably high, yet undefined bar for what are acceptable anti-voter fraud operations. If the RNC wanted to execute a plan that prevented non-citizens from registering and voting, the courts would basically tell them to not press their luck. The RNC is effectively jammed: choosing between developing a system that the federal court and the DNC agree would be flawless or spending time and energy on developing issue ideas or get out the vote efforts. Time and money being finite, the RNC picks GOTV over “Ballot Security.”
However, in an e-mail interview with Catherine Engelbrecht from True the Vote, she said, “There are some important points that need to be made though — the main one being that the 1982 consent decree only effects actions of the national party, not state or local which is where elections and ballot security should be focused anyway.”-
In other words, the solution to this problem is YOU. The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 in particular, empowers all of us to fight for clean registrations and fair elections in our own communities:
