Obama: Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton would both be ‘outstanding presidents’
By MEGHASHYAM MAL
Washington Examiner -President Obama declined to weigh the respective merits of Vice President Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ahead of 2016, saying they would both make “outstanding presidents.”
“Not a chance I am going there,” Obama told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews during an interview on “Hardball” Thursday.
“Both Hillary and Joe would make outstanding presidents and possess the qualities that are needed,” he added.
Biden has refused to rule out a 2016 run and Clinton has thus far refused to comment.
Polls show Clinton to be the clear frontrunner among Democratic voters, with Biden in second place.
Obama praised each similarly, predicting that “Biden will go down in history as one of the best vice presidents ever” and that Clinton would “go down in history as one of the finest secretaries of state we’ve ever had.”
“They’ve got different strengths,” the president concluded, “but both of them would be outstanding.”
