Canada announces the arrest of two people linked to al Qaeda plans to attack a train to New York

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police charged two people of involvement in a
scheme linked to al-Qaeda "to carry out a terrorist attack" targeting a
passenger train linking New York and Toronto.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a statement that the defendants are Shuhaib little 30-year-old pilot from Montreal and Gasser (35 years old) from Toronto.
She added that "these people have had the ability and intent to implement these criminal acts" at the same time stressing that "there was no imminent danger to the public or ordinary railway employees and passengers of the train or the infrastructure."
And said Vic Taos, Canadian Minister of Public Security, told reporters in Ottawa that "today's arrests show that terrorism remains a real threat to Canada."
He continued, saying "We will not tolerate Canada with terrorist activities and will not take advantage of as a safe haven for terrorists or those who support terrorist activities."
For his part, the police official said James Malaysia, told reporters in Toronto "If this scheme has been implemented for the killing of innocent people or suffered serious injuries."
