Globalists work to push Ukraine away from Russia into the European Union

On Sunday, Arizona’s Republican Senator, John McCain, told thousands of protesters in Kiev, Ukraine, that the United States will take “concrete action” against Ukraine’s government if it moves against the demonstrations. McCain said sanctions against Ukraine “would deserve serious consideration” by Congress if Viktor Yanukovych and the Ukrainian government entered into a custom and trade agreement with Russia. Yanukovych has resisted pressure to sign off on a deal to bring the former Soviet Union republic into the European Union. Large and occasionally violent demonstrations occurred after Yanukovych signaled he would not sign the EU agreement.
“We are here to support your just cause, the sovereign right of Ukraine to determine its own destiny freely and independently. And the destiny you seek lies in Europe,” McCain said on Sunday. He traveled to Ukraine with Connecticut Democrat Senator Chris Murphy. “We … want to make it clear to Russia and Vladimir Putin that interference in the affairs of Ukraine is not acceptable to the United States,” said McCain, who is considered a leading voice on U.S. foreign policy.
Orange Revolution, Phase Two

Although largely forgotten and certainly not mentioned by the establishment media, Ukraine experienced similar demonstrations back in 2004. The so-called “Orange Revolution” was orchestrated by the same players who are busily at work now — the CIA, its modern day surrogates, including the National Endowment for Democracy, the State Department, various subversive NGOs, the IMF and NATO. After the authoritarian government of pro-Russian Leonid Kuchma was accused of election fraud in favor of his preferred candidate, Viktor Yanukovich, tens of thousands of Ukrainians filled the streets of Kiev in protest. The disputed election resulted in Viktor Yushchenko, a former banker favored by Wall Street and the elite, taking over the presidency.
The company that ran Yushchenko’s election campaign, PBN Hill+Knowlton Strategies, bills itself as an “international strategic communications consultancy” with offices in London, Moscow, Kiev, Riga, Almaty and Chisinau. The president of PBN, Myron Wasylyk, is also the Chairman of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine. “Wasylyk’s past is revealing in that he has worked for the US Departments of State and the Interior,” writes Andy Rowell for Spinwatch, “and the Republican National Committee. For the Republicans, Wasylyk worked on the election campaigns of former U.S. presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush senior.”
“Hill and Knowlton’s overseas offices were perfect ‘cover’ for the ever-expanding CIA,” former CIA official Robert T. Crowley told Johan Carlisle of Covert Action Quarterly in 1993. In addition, the firm was responsible for orchestrating the now largely forgotten Kuwaiti “Nurse Nayirah” scam instrumental in drumming up support for the first U.S. invasion of Iraq. Nayirah, it turned out, was the daughter of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the U.S. and her testimony before Congress about Iraqi soldiers removing babies from incubators and leaving them to die was a calculated lie.
In addition to the operative Wasylyk, a roster of usual suspects worked to destabilize Ukraine. In 2004, then congressman Ron Paul told the House International Relations Committee “one part that we do know thus far is that the US government, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), granted millions of dollars to the Poland-America-Ukraine Cooperation Initiative (PAUCI), which is administered by the US-based Freedom House.” PAUCI funded various Ukrainian NGOs, including the International Center for Policy Studies, an operation founded by George Soros’ Open Society Institute. Viktor Yushchenko was a member of the NGO’s the advisory board, according to Paul. Freedom House specializes in undermining foreign governments disfavored by the ruling elite and receives its funding directly from the U.S. government. “Freedom House is classified in the same group with other CIA-linked organizations like the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, National Endowment for Democracy, Millennium Challenge Corporation and the International Center for Journalists,” writes Phyllis Kachere. “Freedom House took an active role in the overthrow of Slobodan Milosevic in 2000, specifically in training the non-violent student movement, known as Otpor.”
Otpor is a National Endowment for Democracy spawned operation, thus a CIA project. In addition to NED and Freedom House, Otpor received funds from USAID, the International Republican Institute, and Soros’ Open Society Institute. Pora, ostensibly a Ukrainian youth organization, was created by Otpor in 2004 specifically to oppose president Leonid Kuchma. According to Wikileaks’ Global Intelligence Files project, Pora members traveled to the United States to train in non-violent subversive tactics and strategize with the National Democratic Institute, NED, USAID, the International Republican Institute, and Soros’ Open Society Institute. Alexander Marich, the founder of Otpor, was denied entry into Ukraine during the U.S.-generated uprising. “He is a consultant with a US based institution called the Freedom House that conducts studies for the ‘export of global democracy,’ with the sponsorship of various US institutions including George Soros’ Open Society Institute,” Zaman.com, a Turkish news website, reported in November, 2004.
In 2010, following the success of the Orange Revolution, Justin Raimondo wrote that “the orange sheen” of the Yushchenko “revolution is long gone, as his regime turned out to be just as incompetent and rife with cronyism as his corrupt and venal predecessors, if not more so.” The Ukrainian “economy was paralyzed by the imposition of price controls, and corrupted by brazen influence-peddling.”
“The failure to stamp out corruption, speed up the reform process or run the country in a more inclusive way stopped the advance of democracy and ultimately put the opposition at the helm,” Deutsche Welle reported earlier this year. Endemic corruption and cronyism in government, a control mechanism favored by the global elite, has resulted in the destruction Ukraine’s middle class and business sector. As a result, many in the country hark back to the old days when Ukraine was firmly in the orbit of the Soviet Union. Others believe a European Union subsumption will cure the nation’s problems.
Embrace the Globalist Vision of Austerity and Poverty
“Gazing over protesters in central Kyiv from his hotel window, Arizona’s fanatical Republican Senator John McCain was licking his chops over the prospect of an anti-Russian Ukraine coming into being,” writes Wayne Madsen. “Ukraine, which resisted efforts by the European Union to integrate it into Europe’s banker-led federation of austerity and poverty, came into the EU’s cross hairs after it abandoned an ‘Association Agreement’ pact with the EU. Instead, Kyiv opted for a more lucrative economic union with Russia.”

Madsen notes that the latest color revolution permutation is part of an ongoing effort by the globalists to prevent any sort of political, social or, most importantly, economic cooperation with Russia. “Across Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Romania, and other countries of eastern and central Europe, the new generation of Soros agitators and provocateurs are trying to launch another series of ‘themed revolutions.’ This time the goal is, once again, prying Ukraine away from Russia and into the EU and NATO,” he writes.
On Tuesday, Ukraine and Russia plan to approve a deal to improve trade relations. Word of the agreement came hours after the European Union announced it had stop working on a trade agreement with Ukraine. It said the government in Kiev had failed to show “clear commitment” to signing the deal.
McCain was sent after Ukraine announced last month it plans to cooperate with Russia. The senator from Arizona’s assignment is to rabble rouse and intervene in Ukrainian politics. “People of Ukraine, this is your moment. This is about you, no one else. This is about the future you want for your country. This is about the future you deserve,” McCain told protesters on Sunday. “A future in Europe, a future of peace, with all of your neighbors. The free world is with you, America is with you, I am with you.”
More realistically, a decision to embrace the globalist vision of a crumbling and divisive European Union will result in additional hardship for the people of Ukraine. If a recent report by the International Red Cross is any indicator, joining the EU invariably translates into imposed austerity and resultant poverty. “Whilst other continents successfully reduce poverty, Europe adds to it,” the Red Cross report states. “Not only are more people falling into poverty, but the poor are getting poorer, and the sense is that the gaps between the wealthy and the poor are growing.”
“The world’s global bankers and purveyors of new world order dictates are relying on two weapons of mass destruction to achieve their ends: the increasingly-antiquated weapon of sanctions and the supranational financial organization-driven weapon of mandatory austerity,” Madsen wrote in March. “For those countries that acceded to the international contrivances of free trade areas and common currency zones, it has been the WMD of austerity and budgets dictated by supranational entities like the European Union, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and World Bank that have ruled the day.”
A poll conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology found in November that 40.8 percent favored and 33.1 percent opposed an economic deal with Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. In regard to the question of joining the European Union, 39.7 percent favored it and 35.1 percent opposed.
“Unfortunately, despite the dramatic events over the weekend, there is no easy choice, though supporters of the European option are clearly determined to bring about a change of regime, induced partly by the ham-handed and violent response by riot police,” opines the Ottawa Citizen.
It is artificial change pushed by globalist NGOs, with the threat of more economic hardship for the average Ukrainian imposed via economic sanction by Congress, but this reality is rarely if ever mentioned by the establishment media in the United States.
