Merkel Warns Iran Nuclear Program is EU Threat
German chancellor Angela Merkel has said Iran’s nuclear program is not just a threat to Israel but to Europe as well. Speaking at a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, she ceded that Iran’s ballistic missile program is ‘closely connected’ to its nuclear capability. However, Merkel stopped short of demanding Tehran give up all its most sensitive nuclear projects, a move which Netanyahu believes could lead to ‘waves of nuclear armament’.
