NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Police Department says a man and a child have died after plummeting from a midtown Manhattan building.
Authorities said they received an emergency call reporting two jumpers from the 52-floor building around noon Sunday. Officers found a 30-year-old man and a 3-year-old child on the ground when they arrived.
Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the child was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The circumstances of the fall were unclear. Authorities were investigating.
The address is a rental building listed as South Park Tower. The building is a short distance away from Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center.
