1.6 Billion Rounds Of Ammo For Homeland Security? It’s Time For A National Conversation
The Denver Post, on February 15th, ran an Associated Press article entitled Homeland Security aims to buy 1.6b rounds of ammo, so far to little notice. It confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security has issued an open purchase order for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition. As reported elsewhere, some of this purchase order is for hollow-point rounds, forbidden by international law for use in war, along with a frightening amount specialized for snipers. Also reported elsewhere, at the height of the Iraq War the Army was expending less than 6 million rounds a month. Therefore 1.6 billion rounds would be enough to sustain a hot war for 20+ years. In America.Add to this perplexing outré purchase of ammo, DHS now is showing off its acquisition of heavily armored personnel carriers, repatriated from the Iraqi and Afghani theaters of operation. As observed by “paramilblogger” Ken Jorgustin last September:
[T]he Department of Homeland Security is apparently taking delivery (apparently through the Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico VA, via the manufacturer – Navistar Defense LLC) of an undetermined number of the recently retrofitted 2,717 ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ MaxxPro MRAP vehicles for service on the streets of theUnited States.”Why indeed? It is utterly inconceivable that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is planning a coup d’etat against President Obama, and the Congress, to install herself as Supreme Ruler of the United States of America. There, however, are real signs that the Department bureaucrats are running amok. About 20 years ago this columnist worked, for two years, in the U.S. Department of Energy’s general counsel’s office in its procurement and finance division. And is wise to the ways. The answer to “why would DHS need such a vehicle?” almost certainly is this: it’s a cool toy and these (reportedly) million dollar toys are being recycled, without much of a impact on the DHS budget. So…why not?
These MRAP’s ARE BEING SEEN ON U.S. STREETS all across America by verified observers with photos, videos, and descriptions.”
Regardless of the exact number of MRAP’s being delivered to DHS (and evidently some to POLICE via DHS, as has been observed), why would they need such over-the-top vehicles on U.S. streets to withstand IEDs, mine blasts, and 50 caliber hits to bullet-proof glass? In a war zone… yes, definitely. Let’s protect our men and women. On the streets of America… ?”
“They all have gun ports… Gun Ports? In the theater of war, yes. On the streets of America…?
Seriously, why would DHS need such a vehicle on our streets?”
Why, indeed, should the federal government not be deploying armored personnel carriers and stockpiling enough ammo for a 20-year war in the homeland? Because it’s wrong in every way. President Obama has an opportunity, now, to live up to some of his rhetoric by helping the federal government set a noble example in a matter very close to his heart (and that of his Progressive base), one not inimical to the Bill of Rights: gun control. The federal government can (for a nice change)begin practicing what it preaches by controlling itself.
Remember the Sequester? The president is claiming its budget cuts will inconvenience travelers by squeezing essential services provided by the (opulently armed and stylishly uniformed) DHS. Quality ammunition is not cheap. (Of course, news reports that DHS is about to spend $50 million on new uniforms suggests a certain cavalier attitude toward government frugality.)
Spending money this way is beyond absurd well into perverse. According to the AP story a DHS spokesperson justifies this acquisition to “help the government get a low price for a big purchase.” Peggy Dixon, spokeswoman for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center: “The training center and others like it run by the Homeland Security Department use as many as 15 million rounds every year, mostly on shooting ranges and in training exercises.”
At 15 million rounds (which, in itself, is pretty extraordinary and sounds more like fun target-shooting-at-taxpayer-expense than a sensible training exercise) … that’s a stockpile that would last DHS over a century. To claim that it’s to “get a low price” for a ridiculously wasteful amount is an argument that could only fool a career civil servant.
Meanwhile, Senator Diane Feinstein, with the support of President Obama, is attempting to ban 100 capacity magazine clips. Doing a little apples-to-oranges comparison, here, 1.6 billion rounds is … 16 million times more objectionable.
Mr. Obama has a long history of disdain toward gun ownership. According to Prof. John Lott, in Debacle, a book he co-authored with iconic conservative strategist Grover Norquist,
“When I was first introduced to Obama (when both worked at the University of Chicago LawSchool, where Lott was famous for his analysis of firearms possession), he said, ‘Oh, you’re the gun guy.’Mr. Obama? Where’s the disdain now? Cancelling, or at minimum, drastically scaling back — by 90% or even 99%, the DHS order for ammo, and its receipt and deployment of armored personnel carriers, would be a “fourfer.”
I responded: ‘Yes, I guess so.’
’I don’t believe that people should own guns,’ Obama replied.
I then replied that it might be fun to have lunch and talk about that statement some time.
He simply grimaced and turned away. …
Unlike other liberal academics who usually enjoyed discussing opposing ideas, Obama showed disdain.”
- The federal government would set an example of restraint in the matter of weaponry.
- It would reduce the deficit without squeezing essential services.
- It would do both in a way that was palatable to liberals and conservatives, slightly depolarizing America.
- It would somewhat defuse, by the government making itself less armed-to-the-teeth, the anxiety of those who mistrust the benevolence of the federales.
Things are a little strange at the Vikings/Packers Game today. A drone has been photographed hovering around the Metrodome fan plaza on the west side, and a Homeland Security / TSA “VIPR” team has been hanging around as well, indicating the federal government is shifting into “protecting” the major Spectacles at taxpayer expense.
My friend Nathan Hansen noticed the #VikingsDrone and the VIPR team, documenting & posting them on twitter@nathanmhansen. [Note: awhile back I did a 'lil client design work for Hansen.]
//// UPDATE 12:15PM Monday: According to @TCRover, a branch of the Pioneer Press, the drone was NOT operated by the government but rather some production company. The pic they say is from the crew flying it earlier: Seehttps://twitter.com/TCRover/status/285560684245315585/photo/1 . Nonetheless we still need to deal with the impending prospect of government & contractor drones filling our airspace – and indeed this story has prompted others to discuss other sightings near government sites. //// 2:20PM update: It’s annoying that they tried to tweet @ me last night but it never turned up in my timeline so I didn’t find out until today. I would have much preferred to straighten it out immediately! Also, here’s what’s going on with drones in Oklahoma… Follow my friend @axxiom for more. ////

You can see the four rotors pretty well on these pics. It is comparable to the sports photography drone linked below as well – I figured it might just be a civilian hobbyist drone or some weird sports media project drone until the VIPR team was found by Hansen.
I am just delighted that the national government had to borrow more money at interest from the Federal Reserve System in order to send out these guys and their fancy flying spy robot to the Vikings/Packers game. We get the twin benefits of national debt slavery AND a surveillance state with nothing useful to do!
Our friends at WTFNews cranked out a quick post on this already: Unidentified Drone Spotted at @Packers-@VikingsFootball @NFL Game » WTF RLY REPORT
Let’s Ban This Drone Operation in Minneapolis: Already Minneapolis activist Kurtis Hanna has suggested a petition to get drones banned on the city charter. (come to think of it, wouldn’t it be good to get something like the White House petition site for the Mpls Charter Commission?) I will include some info below on this.
The Department of Homeland Security and the National Football League have a burgeoning relationship. Previously when I wrote up a post on the relatively new and totally off-the-radar Homeland Security Investigations division (basically their own militant version of the FBI, intended to reach BATF-level org status) they did a drill black helicopter landing on the Super Bowl field. [yes really - HSI is so new I must have been the first person to satirize its absurdities on the whole interweb!] See April 12 2012: Meet the new Boss in Town: ICE spawns… HSI Homeland Security Investigations, for great justice & cocaine cowboys | HongPong.com
The Super Bowl and World Series are also both declared National Special Security Events, which activates a fat block of overtime for many federal police agencies, much like the Republican & Democratic National Conventions. (However, since rioting at sports events is closer to the booze-soaked Id of the American public than more ‘political’ street upheavals, it doesn’t meet the same heavy hand from federal & local police agencies) NSSEs generally feature Homeland Security, FEMA and the Secret Service operating at a high tempo, another thing that HSI & TSA are getting involved with as a ‘filler force’ if you will.

Federal VIPR teams: been popping up in all sorts of places. Here’s the Wiki page. Wiki notes GAO attributes their existence to a Reaction to the shady Madrid train bombings. VIPR is trying to get at pro sports & local transportation (the Hiawatha light rail has a station close to where they were photographed) and wherever else they can normalize their presence. In this case the VIPR deployment apparently includes at least a half-dozen uniformed officers and at least one drone.
Additionally there was strange audio interference right before a commercial break in the first half, kind of like the sound a cell phone makes when its microwave signal induces noise in a speaker or electronics. However, I don’t think game-day satellite transmissions go straight over-the-air from the Metrodome, as there aren’t really satellite dishes around there I’ve noticed. Thus it seems unlikely to me that the one spotted drone would have glitched the transmission. Perhaps unrelated but also something you don’t usually see. I blame Wisconsin FalseFlag types for this noise, whoever that might be

(a) In generalProcess for City Charter Amendment for banning these drones: Sent along by Kurt Hanna who thinks that “10,791 valid signatures of Minneapolis residents who are registered voters in order to qualify for the ballot” based on the figure of 215,806 voters voting last time. Citizen petition timeframe link. BUT: How much time do we have to gather these signatures?
The Secretary, acting through the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, may develop Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (referred to in this section as “VIPR”) teams to augment the security of any mode of transportation at any location within the United States. In forming a VIPR team, the Secretary—
(1) may use any asset of the Department, including Federal air marshals, surface transportation security inspectors, canine detection teams, and advanced screening technology;
(2) may determine when a VIPR team shall be deployed, as well as the duration of the deployment;
(3) shall, prior to and during the deployment, consult with local security and law enforcement officials in the jurisdiction where the VIPR team is or will be deployed, to develop and agree upon the appropriate operational protocols and provide relevant information about the mission of the VIPR team, as appropriate; and
(4) shall, prior to and during the deployment, consult with all transportation entities directly affected by the deployment of a VIPR team, as appropriate, including railroad carriers, air carriers, airport owners, over-the-road bus operators and terminal owners and operators, motor carriers, public transportation agencies, owners or operators of highways, port operators and facility owners, vessel owners and operators and pipeline operators.
(b) Authorization of appropriations
There are authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary to carry out this section such sums as necessary for fiscal years 2007 through 2011.
Some more info: Via Minneapolis City Charter:http://library.municode.com/HTML/11490/level2/SUHITA_CH.htmlAn amusing side question: is this “magick” security theater? Security Theater of course works most “effectively” at materializing psychological phantoms with an audience at a Spectacle. This is the perhaps the principle Stimulus Effect intended by Homeland Security & its general orientation around ‘visuals’ which is not that different than Ceremonial Magick, which is [arguably] anything that generates a certain sense-impression in the mind of Observers.
(1) The methods available for amending a home rule city charter are contained in Minnesota Statutes, Section 410.12 et seq., which provides as follows:
(1) 410.12 AMENDMENTS. Subdivision 1. Proposals. The charter commission may propose amendments to such charter and SHALL DO SO upon the petition of voters equal in number to five percent of the total votes cast at the last previous state general election in the city.Proposed charter amendments must be submitted at least 12 weeks before the general election. Only registered voters are eligible to sign the petition. All petitions circulated with respect to a charter amendment shall be uniform in character and shall have attached thereto the text of the proposed amendment in full; except that in the case of a proposed amendment containing more than 1,000 words, a true and correct copy of the same may be filed with the city clerk, and the petition shall then contain a summary of not less than 50 nor more than 300 words setting forth in substance the nature of the proposed amendment. Such summary shall contain a statement of the objects and purposes of the amendment proposed and an outline of any proposed new scheme or frame work of government and shall be sufficient to inform the signers of the petition as to what change in government is sought to be accomplished by the amendment. The summary, together with a copy of the proposed amendment, shall first be submitted to the charter commission for its approval as to form and substance. The commission shall within ten days after such submission to it, return the same to the proposers of the amendment with such modifications in statement as it may deem necessary in order that the summary may fairly comply with the requirements above set forth.
Subd. 2. Petitions. The signatures to such petition need not all be appended to one paper, but to each separate petition there shall be attached an affidavit of the circulator thereof as provided by this section.A petition must contain each petitioner’s signature in ink or indelible pencil and must indicate after the signature the place of residence by street and number, or their description sufficient to identify the place. There shall appear on each petition the names and addresses of five electors of the city, and on each paper the names and addresses of the same five electors, who, as a committee of the petitioners, shall be regarded as responsible for the circulation and filing of the petition. [........]
(1) Subd. 3. May be assembled as one petition. All petition papers for a proposed amendment shall be assembled and filed with the charter commission as one instrument. Within ten days after such petition is transmitted to the city council, the city clerk shall determine whether each paper of the petition is properly attested and whether the petition is signed by a sufficient number of voters. The city clerk shall declare any petition paper entirely invalid which is not attested by the circulator thereof as required in this section. Upon completing an examination of the petition, the city clerk shall certify the result of the examination to the council. If the city clerk shall certify that the petition is insufficient the city clerk shall set forth in a certificate the particulars in which it is defective and shall at once notify the committee of the petitioners of the findings. A petition may be amended at any time within ten days after the making of a certificate of insufficiency by the city clerk, by filing a supplementary petition upon additional papers signed and filed as provided in case of an original petition. The city clerk shall within five days after such amendment is filed, make examination of the amended petition, and if the certificate shall show the petition still to be insufficient, the city clerk shall file it in the city clerk’s office and notify the committee of the petitioners of the findings and no further action shall be had on such insufficient petition. The finding of the insufficiency of a petition shall not prejudice the filing of a new petition for the same purpose. (Back)
(1) Subd. 4. Election. Amendments shall be submitted to the qualified voters at a general or special election and published as in the case of the original charter. The form of the ballot shall be fixed by the governing body. The statement of the question on the ballot shall be sufficient to identify the amendment clearly and to distinguish the question from every other question on the ballot at the same time. If 51 percent of the votes cast on any amendment are in favor of its adoption, copies of the amendment and certificates shall be filed, as in the case of the original charter and the amendment shall take effect in 30 days from the date of the election or at such other time as is fixed in the amendment.

On the heels of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s (FLETC) solicitation for 200,000 rounds of .40 cal ammunition, the Customs and Border Enforcement (CBE) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has place a presolicitation for a total of 250,000,000 rounds (250 MILLION) rounds of .40 S&W cal ammunition over the next 5 years in a contract style known as indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (ID/IQ). That is 50 million rounds a year.
This solicitation is a follow up on a Special Notice filed exactly 3 months ago on behalf of CBE and ICE.
The stated purpose is:
The purpose of this solicitation is to achieve price savings over the current 40 SW ammunition. Resulting award will be used for training/qualifications only, not for duty use.
However, in August of 2011, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requested and awarded a contract for 350,000,000 (350 MILLION) rounds. See the following articles:

What, pray tell does a agency with less than 50,000 people need 700,000,000 rounds of ammunition for but for storing up in the event of a major event. This is not for training. This is not a case of a missed comma or decimal point. This is a deliberate arming of a civilian paramilitary organization outside of the Department of Defense and of Congress.
This is dangerous, and Mr. Obama needs to explain the purchases.
But he won’t because the army he is supplying is his own army, the army of brown shirt thugs who are more than willing to slaughter children in his name.
If you own a firearm, may I suggest you pick up more ammunition.
When the Department of Homeland Security was
brought into existence the general population didn’t really know what to
expect, they were never really told, and most of them didn’t care all
that much to begin with.
The people who pointed out that this organization could be a threat
to privacy and liberty were marginalized and ignored, and here we are,
over a decade later, and homeland security has grown into one of the
most powerful and complex intelligence agencies in the world.Last month, Cryptome published a brochure that featured some commercial services that DHS offers to smaller government organizations as well private security and military firms.
These commercial services are referred to as “intelligence products” in the manual, and, looking through the full brochure, you can see the vast capabilities that the DHS has in terms of surveillance and paramilitary services.
Screen Shot from the DHS Intelligence Product Line Brochure
Independent media organization Public Intelligence went through the documents in detail and concluded that:
“The brochure describes more than fifty intelligence product lines from seven DHS components including the U.S. Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection and the Secret Service. This brochure is not intended for the average person, rather, it is something that ends up on a high level bureaucrat’s desk. Many of the products and services offered within are very poorly described because they require top-level clearance to even order.
The classifications of the products range from unclassified to Top Secret with more than thirty product lines being produced with classified material.”
Examples of the types of products the DHS is currently offering include Roll Call Releases, the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis Snapshot Series, and the Joint Intelligence Bulletin.
In their report, Public Intelligence also noted that the brochure includes things that many might not even know exist or know that they are components of homeland security.
The brochure describes dozens of intelligence products from parts of the government that you may not have known were components of DHS.As you continue to read through the document ,you will find things like deportation, background checks, military services, spy services, surveillance, and other intelligence initiatives.
For example, the U.S. Coast Guard Intelligence Coordination Center produces thirteen separate intelligence product lines, some of which are released daily. U.S. Customs and Border Protection and DHS OIA each produce twelve separate intelligence product lines.
The Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services each produce an assortment of products, from colorful posters to “fast-paced” intelligence videos designed to inform stakeholders of “recent intelligence reporting, terrorism trends, and terrorist incidents.”
With these sorts of advanced tactics and services being offered to other organizations, one can only imagine what they are doing behind the scenes and off the record. This brochure also shows us how many different government organizations are now tightly affiliated with DHS as well as the overall growth of homeland security during the last ten years.
When you couple the fact that homeland security has become so overreaching that they offer over 50 different intelligence “products”, including numerous intelligence reports that label everyday Americans as terrorists, with the fact that they have also ordered at least 1.5 billion rounds of ammunition, a clear picture emerges.
In the last few years, the Department of Homeland Security has went on a literal ammunition buying spree, purchasing over a billion and a half rounds of ammunitionalongside other police state weapons such as armored checkpoints and high power sound cannons.
A report published on theintelhub.com in July of this year documented the buildup and its connections to what DHS must believe is an impending civil war.
“This astonishing amount of purchased ammunition has led many to speculate and believe that homeland security is actively preparing for what they believe will be a bloody and extremely violent American uprising and or civil war.
When you couple this large-scale buildup of ammo with bulletproof checkpoints, law enforcement bulletins labeling everyday Americans as possible terrorists, and a series of videos that painted middle class Americans as the new Al Qaeda, you can clearly see that at least portions of DHS are planning for some sort of violent confrontation with the American people.”
Sadly, many Americans believe that the DHS is either completely good or simply not powerful enough to takeover the country.
Obviously both those claims are complete hogwash. An agency that was actually for the people would not be ordering over a billion rounds of ammo to be used inside the country or creating videos that portray everyday Americans as possible terrorists.
And, as highlighted above, homeland security has grown so huge that they now have intelligence brochures that include dozens of “products” to further push fear and propaganda onto state and local law enforcement.
We the people must continue to expose these tyrannical actions and purchases with the hope that the masses will finally take notice and demand change.
This
is something that we touched on in my interview with Gary Yantis on
this week’s show. A lot of people are predicting either an “October
Surprise” (a false flag event giving Obama an excuse to suspend the
elections – a power which he has granted himself under NDAA – and impose
martial law) or that massive civil unrest and rioting will result in
the aftermath of the election (no matter who wins). Considering that
riots have erupted in the past over the loss (or win) of major sporting events,
this does not seem like too much of a stretch. Why do you suppose DHS
has been in an all fired-up hurry to arm itself to the teeth?
Will the most divisive campaign in
modern American history culminate in massive riots in our major cities?
Right now, supporters of Barack Obama and supporters of Mitt Romney are
both pinning all of their hopes on a victory on November 6th. The race
for the presidency is extremely tight, and obviously the side that
loses is going to be extremely disappointed when the election results
are finalized. But could this actually lead to violence? Could we
actually see rioting in communities all over America? Well, the
conditions are certainly ripe for it. A whole host of surveys over the
past few years have shown that Americans are very angry and very
frustrated right now. In fact, a Pew Research Center poll from late
last year found that 86 percent of
all Americans are either angry or frustrated with the federal
government. We have seen this frustration manifest in protest movements
such as the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street, but right now things are
fairly calm as liberals and conservatives both look forward to November
6th. Many Republicans started the countdown to the next election
literally the day after John McCain lost back in 2008. All of their
hopes of getting Obama out of the White House are riding on a Romney
victory. For many Democrats, Barack Obama is a “once in a generation”
icon. Just the thought of Mitt Romney replacing Obama in the White
House is enough to push many of them to the brink of insanity. In
recent years we have seen horrible rioting erupt in cities after major
sports championship games. How much worse could the rioting potentially
be if this bitterly contested election is decided by a very narrow
margin – especially if there are allegations that the election is
“stolen”?
The election is nearly four weeks away,
and many Obama supporters are already threatening to riot if Obama
loses. The following are some very disturbing messages that were posted
on Twitter recently that have been reposted on Twitchy.com….
“If Romney wins I’m Starting a Riot….Who’s WIT ME???”
“I Hope The USA Is Well Aware That If In
The Event This Character Romney Wins The Election, The People Will
Start A Country Wide Riot! #Power”
“If Romney is elected president, its gon be a riot its gon be a riot.”
“If ROMNEY GETS IN THE WHITE HOUSE …U MIGHT AS WELL KILL ME NOW …..CAUSE ITS GONNA BE A ************ RIOT !!!”
“If Romney became President and took away welfare Downtown Cincinnati would become a riot”
“If Romney takes away food stamps 2 Chainzz in this bit IMMA START A RIOT”
“If Romney wins. (which i highly doubt) THERE WILL BE A RIOT—”
The following are a few more tweets that I found which threaten a potential riot if Obama loses the election….
From @joecools_world….
“Need 2 come up wit a game plan if Romney win…. Riot all thru Newark”
From @killacate….
“I swear on everything I love if Romney wins ima riot. I don’t even care if its just me.”
Romney supporters are not really
threatening to riot, but many of them are proclaiming that they may
leave the country if Obama wins. Here are some examples….
From @BrentskiTheBoss….
“If Obama gets reelected I may leave the country”
From @AbbieFickes….
“im sorry but if obama were to win again, i might as well leave the country and live in zimbabwe”
This presidential campaign has been
getting increasingly heated, and individuals on both sides have been
committing some despicable acts.
For example, in a previous article I mentioned that some Romney campaign signs down in Virgina have been smeared with excrement.
Over in Ohio, a huge pile of manure was dumped right in front of Warren County Democratic headquarters early on Tuesday morning….
Volunteers at the Warren County Democratic headquarters, just north of Cincinnati, were shocked and disappointed by a political prank unloaded on them early Tuesday morning – someone dumped a pile of horse manure in the parking lot of the headquarters building on US 42, just north of Lebanon.
It appears that both sides have resorted to literally slinging crap around.
There is so much hate in America today,
and this campaign is bringing a lot of it to the surface. It is even
being reported that a bus driver told a 12-year-old boy that he should have been aborted because his family has a Romney campaign sign in their yard….
Belling read a letter from the 12-year-old boy’s mother, detailing the alleged abusive behavior by the bus driver.
Apparently, the Romney-Ryan yard sign bugs the bus driver and she’s been harassing the boy, making rude comments to him related to politics.
When the driver engaged the 12-year-old boy in a political conservation, he responded by saying that Obama is pro-abortion.
The bus driver allegedly said to the child, “Maybe your mom should have chosen abortion for you.”
How sick is that?
You can strongly disagree with someone without being mean and without being hateful.
Right now, the United States is a
bubbling cauldron of frustration and anger that could be set off at any
moment. This election could potentially be a “trigger point” which
could end up unleashing a lot of that anger and frustration.
Already, there have been allegations that the Republicans have been committing voter registration fraud. Democrats are furious about this.
Evidence has also emerged that Democrats
have been willing to assist voters in registering to vote in two
different states. The following is from a recent article by Mac Slavo….
When undercover reporters visited various locations across the country they received the same response from Obama campaign staffers – that it’s basically okay to vote multiple times if you happen to be registered in two or more states.
In Houston, Texas, for example, the Project Veritas reporter made her intentions known, and rather than being rebuffed for her planned illegal activity, she was provided assistance with obtaining the proper forms to be registered in two states and was told to say “I don’t know” if the double-voting ever became an issue.
Similar situations unfolded at other DNC funded community organizations.
It appears quite probable that whichever side loses this election will accuse the other side of stealing the election.
And if millions of Americans feel that
the election has been stolen from them, that will make it much more
likely that we will see rioting.
Keep your ears open for phrases such as
“voter fraud” and “election fraud” following this election. People are
so angry already that even allegations that someone stole the election
could be enough to set the streets of America on fire.
As always, let us hope for the best, but let us also prepare for the worst.
Welcome
to surveillance nation, America… Where your rights and liberties are
nothing more than a quaint, nostalgic memory as spy drones patrol
chemtrail-laden skies (just be grateful they’re not armed… yet) and
everything you do or say is recorded and processed at a DHS “fusion
center” for suspicious content. Don’t forget to keep an eye on your
neighbor and if you see something, say something. But watch what you
say, lest Guantanamo Bay become your new, permanent residence.
And If you don’t like what you see, they’ve got a designated
“free speech zone” where you can speak your mind all you want until
Officer Thug comes along and tazers the daylights out of you.By Madison Ruppert
The Intel Hub
It’s no secret that the government of the United States has come to love drones what with the increasingly deadly drone war in Yemen, potential drone bases across the country ready to be utilized thanks to legislation accelerating drone integration into the national airspace and military drones already being used to gather intelligence for law enforcement in America.
We must also consider the widespread support of drone use, the increasingly powerful surveillance capabilities of drones, the mind-bending technology being integrated into unmanned systems, and the newly demonstrated capability to keep drones in the air indefinitely through ground-based lasers.
It’s not hard to see why drones are highly attractive to the behemoth Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and their quite ambitious surveillance goals.
However, as I have previously reported, they fall quite short of the mark with their infamous fusion centers producing “a bunch of crap,” open deception of Congress, underestimating the risks associated the National Bio and Agro Defense facility, hiring alleged child molesters to supervise for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)and even dropping the requirement to screen employees of chemical plants.
Indeed homeland security is the last concern of the DHS although they seem to be able to convince many Americans otherwise.
The latest DHS plan involves the increasingly popular miniature drones which will be tested at Fort Sill in Oklahoma as a part of the Robotic Aircraft for Public Safety (RAPS) program.
The DHS Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate put out a request for information (RFI) which states, “The goal of this RFI is to solicit participation in the RAPS project from the SUAS vendor community.”
According to the RFI, they are seeing what small surveillance
drones can do to bolster “first responder, law enforcement and border
security scenarios.”
Each drone selected by DHS will be subjected to five days of testing at Fort Sill. The drones DHS is looking for will ideally be launched by hand, weigh under 25 pounds, take only minutes to assemble and require little training to operate.
According to Danger Room, they want to train remote pilots and technicians in just a matter of days instead of the months or years required to train traditional pilots. The obvious benefit would be the ability to get more drones in the air more quickly than would otherwise be imaginable.
The DHS seeks drones which can stay airborne from 30 minutes to two hours, although the emerging technology (linked above) could provide a theoretically endless flight time.
According to the documents publicly available, the potential missions the small drones that are part of the RAPS program will be involved in include “law enforcement operations, search and rescue, and fire and hazardous material spill response.”
This move on the part of the Department of Homeland Security is quite interesting since Ruth Doherty with DHS S&T told Danger Room last year that “a case has to be made that they’re economically feasible, not intrusive and acceptable to the public.”
It seems that somewhere along the line this case has been made to DHS officials, although I’ve yet to see anything to show that they are economically feasible, non-intrusive or acceptable.
As Danger Room rightly points out, this shift is made even harder to understand when one notes, “A DHS ground station in 2010 lost communications with one of the first Predators it used to surveil the southern U.S. border, and the department has had trouble finding enough pilots and technicians to operate its initial drone fleet.”
The operation of these drones remains problematic since the drones that are part of the RAPS program will require a threshold altitude of some 1000 feet which means they could interfere with helicopter traffic.
Danger Room calls the restrictions put in place by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) “cumbersome” when in reality they’re wholly necessary to keep drones from causing horrific air traffic accidents.
Ultimately, the DHS shift towards drones is really not that surprising, not only since they have become popular amongst many branches of government but also because the DHS obsession with surveillance simply demands the technology.
“In recent years, DHS has gotten interested in vastly expanding its surveillance capabilities, exploring cameras reminiscent of military ones that can spy on four square miles at once,” notes Spencer Ackerman of Danger Room.
Indeed if anything is clear it is that our government is increasingly fascinated with widespread surveillance, monitoring and tracking of the American people. It looks like the Department of Homeland Security is just following suit.
Remember
when Michael Chertoff’s backscatter x-ray scanners were all the rage
(literally)? And the nigh anticipated arrival of the F.A.S.T. machines
(Future Attribute Sensing Technology – whatever that means)
that would label you as a terrorist by reading your skin temperature and
body language? Well get ready for the latest piece of draconian
technology from the Department of Homeland Surveillance that will be
able to tell everything about you right down to the molecular level.
From the dandruff on your shoulder to the particles under your
fingernails to the contents of your stomach. All from over 50 meters
away!
This modern miracle of fascist
technology is brought to you by the friendly folks over at In-Q-Tel.
Yes, the same In-Q-Tel that’s been providing surveillance and
information gathering gadgets for the CIA for over 13 years!
Don’t you feel safer already?
From TheIntelHub.com:
If you thought the x-ray scanners at the
airport were bad, wait until you find out that TSA employees will soon
know what you had for breakfast and how pumped you are to sit on a plane for twelve hours.
Unfortunately, you won’t know what they
know, because Homeland Security’s new toy is capable of detecting every
molecule on your person from over 164 feet (50 meters) away—without your
permission.
CIA-Backed Company Develops New Scanners
“Within the next year or two, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will instantly know everything about your body, clothes, and luggage with a new laser-based molecular scanner fired from 164 feet (50 meters) away.
From traces of drugs or gun powder on your clothes to what you had for breakfast to the adrenaline level in your body—agents will be able to get any information they want without even touching you,” reports Gizmodo.
The scanner was developed by Genia
Photonics before being subcontracted by In-Q-Tel, a company founded in
1999 “by a group of private citizens at the request of the Director of
the CIA and the support of the U.S. Congress.”
Although the technology is not new,
In-Q-Tel made it exponentially faster and more convenient to use—which
has its own implications.
Blatant Violation of Privacy
Although the TSA says
this technology would be used to detect explosive material, the scanners
are capable of detecting countless types of molecules.
Which ones will be tagged for further surveillance? The cocaine on a dollar bill you received in change after buying coffee?
The used joint you unwittingly stepped
on at the bus stop? (Let’s not forget Keith Brown, a father of three who
had a sugar-grain-sized speck of cannabis under his shoe and was
sentenced to four years in a Dubai prison.)
Because of the device’s portability and ease of use, it may even begin to show up at athletic events, movie theaters, traffic lights, and bus and train stations.
Because of the device’s portability and ease of use, it may even begin to show up at athletic events, movie theaters, traffic lights, and bus and train stations.
While this may, for whatever reason,
seem like a welcome sense of security to some, it’s a blatant breach of
the Fourth Amendment to our Constitution which protects citizens from
unreasonable searches and seizures.
This manner of surveillance too closely resembles that of the
dystopian narratives of Phillip K. Dick, and will likely do little more
than result in false positives, delayed human and automobile traffic in
already busy areas, and cluttered minds.
In trying to make sense of the ammunition purchases, which by the
way, DHS/ICE canceled the orders for blank .308 rounds. 25,000 rounds, I
decided to match apples to apples for fairness.
What I found fails the smell test of common sense and reason. But we are talking about the largest grab of brass and lead of all times by a man who only knows how a weapon fires from his time in “Pock Is Stan”.
Big Sis has been in a request for another 120,000,000 rounds of .40 S&W ammunition. And this time, it is to be CLEARLY used and segregated from duty ammunition. How clearly marked? From the RFI :
Can company produce ammunition with cartridge cases that are uniquely colored to ready distinguish them from DHS duty ammunition. Can company produce individual packaging boxes uniquely colored to ready distinguish them from DHS duty ammunition.
Can company produce training ammunition capable of accuracy comparable to current duty ammunition standards?
Can company manufacturer 30 million rounds of this training ammunition annually?
Remember, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), is the largest investigative agency in the Department of Homeland Security, and is responsible for enforcing the nation’s immigration and customs laws. ICE has more than 20,000 employees working in 400 offices in the U.S. and around the world.
It is also charged with detaining the criminal elements of the illegal aliens that cross our borders. So naturally, the ammunition would be used to keep those ruffians under lock and key.
However, just using the large multi-year purchases, there is a problem with their ammunition uses.
Look at this chart:
Caliber Year Bought Sum Used to date Sum remaining
.40 S&W 2009 160,000,000 40,000,000 40,000,000
.40 S&W 2011 140,000,000 70,000,000 210,000,000
.40 S&W 2012 30,000,000 30,000,000 90,000,000
.223 SD 2012 40,000,000 40,000,000 160,000,000
.223 EP 2012 35,000,000 35,000,000 140,000,000
More purchases can be found HERE. Just for the record, the 2009 purchase was a mere $38,227,600
What this means is that for the 20,000 employees of ICE, they will have at their disposal 215,000,000 rounds of ammunition, to detain 33,330 inmates for Fiscal Year 2011.
What happened to last year’s 215 million rounds? Or the year before that? Perhaps it went to training? Not necessarily the case. This is from an email I received from H.R.P.
CBP agents fire 72 rounds of handgun ammo per qualification. Multiply that by 20,000 and you get 1,440,000. For the four quals each year you arrive at 5,760,000 rounds of handgun ammo for CBP alone. This does not include issue of ammo for practice and proficiency.
There is enough annual ammo for each employee to do practice/proficiency 37 times of what the qualification ammunition is needed. The President doesn’t even golf that much!
As I started the article, a comparison of apples needs to be made. The nearest body that would be closest to ICE is the Bureau of Prisons. From their website:
“The Bureau has approximately 37,700 highly motivated individuals working in 115 correctional institutions across the country, and approximately 217,000 Federal offenders are confined by BOP.”
It should be noted that BOP has 17,000 more employees, manages 6.5 times more inmates, and in less facilities.
So what are the BOP’s ammunition purchases since 2003? Mind you, the chart above is only since 2009:
Jan 14, 2011 $40,000
200,000 rounds, 9mm Luger, 115 grain, jacketed-hollow-point ammunition.
Dec 3, 2008 $7,252,000 5 years total – Total ammunition 24,900,000 rounds (4,980 rounds for 2012 alone)
9MM Luger 124 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point (1,000,000 each);
12 Gauge #4 Buckshot 27 Pellets (160,000 each);
12 Gauge #7 ½ shot (160,000 each);
12 Gauge Rifled Slug 1 oz. (80,000 each);

9MM Luger 115 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point (1,000,000 each);
223 Caliber 55 Grain Full Metal Jacket (1,500,000 each);
9MM Luger 124 Grain Jacket Ball (1,000,000 each)

Cartridge, 9mm Luger, 124 Grain FMJ/Ball: 1,000,000 rounds;
Cartridge, 12 Gauge #4 Buckshot, 27 Pellets, Compression Formed STSH: 160,000 rounds;
Cartridge, 12 Gauge #6 Shot Size 2-3/4″ Length, 3 Dram Equivalent: 160,000
Cartridge, 12 Gauge #7-1/2 Shot Size 2-3/4″ Length, 3 Dram Equivalent: 160,000 rounds;
Cartridge, 12 Gauge #8 Shot Size 2-3/4″ Length, 3 Dram Equivalent: 160,000 rounds
Cartridge, 12 Gauge Rifled Slug, 1 ounce weight: 80,000 rounds;
Cartridge .223 55 Grain, Full Metal Jacket: 1,500,000 rounds;
Cartridge, 30-06 168 Grain, JHP Boat Tail: 80,000 rounds; and
Cartridge, .308 168 Grain JHP Boat Tail: 80,000 rounds
Grand total of cost for the last 10 years: 7,574,517, or 1/5 the cost of one ammunition purchase by DHS/ICE.
DHS is a bloated entity, hell bent on scaring innocent people. Airports, trains, online – the very agency that is to “protect” us from terror, terrorizes us all.
“Obey, or it will be the FEMA camps for you!” may be the next threat out of some jackbooted thug who just falls into the latest line of useful idiots of the tyrants of history.
Fear not though. All tyrants fall. The 21st century versions will fall just as well, if not harder and faster. Keep the faith.

With
a global as well as domestic economic crisis looming, further
hostilities in the Middle East, the likelihood of war with Iran
(possibly sparking World War III) and turmoil surrounding the coming
presidential election, we are indeed living in very precarious times.
Couple that with the DHS continuing to arm itself and various
government agencies to the teeth, the possibility of martial law in
America is looking more and more likely.
The following article outlines what to expect when martial law rolls
into your neighborhood and how to avoid capture. Big thanks go out to James Smith (aka The Covert Prepper) from Survival and Beyond’s supporting Network; Prepper Podcast Radio. How to Avoid Getting Trapped in FEMA Camps
By James Smith,
I wrote a news story recently called “How technology will send you to hell in the FEMA camps” It was wildly popular and raised the question in my mind, “How do I prevent my family from going to the camps?”
< LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST BY CLICKING HERE >
The first thing is to know what to expect before hand. While people think about the dollar dropping to nothing, or an Obama re-election, you need to consider the most pressing signs of a pending martial law.
How pending?
About 15 minutes or less away from being put into a bus.
Now there are people who would look forward to 3 hots and a cot. And there are some who would actively encourage you to go to the camps. There was an article that said that social services folks are encourage self-sufficient people to use food stamps, and that the self-sufficient mentallity was preventing more people from being on food stamps.
But we aren’t those people. We are the kinds that enjoy freedom.
So what do we look for?
Using the backbone of a military operation, you must make the enemy (that would be you) deaf, dumb, and blind.
What does that mean? It means you must be blind: Not knowing what to expect, how many men are in the operation, and what your final destination will be. This means that the operation will most likely take place in the middle of the night. When they roll up, mega watt lights will be shone onto the neighborhood. This disorientates you as well as illuminate your home for movement. This also means the power to your block will be secured. Depending on the size of the town, perhaps several blocks at once. That would be a good thing. Read on…
Deaf means that you won’t know what is going on. Loud noises, such as bullhorns shouting orders, diesel engines running, and people yelling at you to go here or there. It also means you won’t be able to receive texts or cell phone service.
Dumb, or mute, means you won’t be able to call anyone, tweet, post a Facebook update, send an email of warning. Imagine if the events took place in Chicago. How quick would such a warning get spread all over Facebook or Twitter. It would “trends” quickly and the element of surprise would be gone.
Making you deaf and dumb is as simple as securing the internet with the Internet Kill Switch. That ends Facebook, Twitter, and Email.
And all you have to do to secure the cell phone or land-line service is to have the US military show up at the local phone office and have them secure all lines in the place. Turning the power off would be as effective as cutting lines, but once power is restored you could have normal service. Infrastructure would be maintained.
Your neighborhood is now deaf, dumb, and blind.
You need to buy yourself some time. Not much time, but just enough time.
And you have about 5 minutes to do it in. Maybe less.
What do you need?
You need to make an alert when you lose power. This is from my site:
“I took a small wall wart that is rated at 12 volts and about 100 mA. I attached it to the power and ground part of a small 12v relay I bought from radio shack. I then took a 9v battery connector and a piezeo alarm and put it on the connectors of the relay that if there is no power to the relay – will allow current to flow. The way you find that is to put the red wire of the connector to the relay, and one of the leads from the alarm to the opposite side of the relay. Connect the black wire and the other alarm wire together.
Provided you have a 9v battery on the connector you should hear a sound. If not, change to a different spot on the relay. So when you apply power by plugging in the wall wart, the sound goes off. Remove the wart or turn off the power, you get an alarm sound. “
When I was in the Navy, any time we lost power we went into an immediate Security Alert. And you should too. When that alarm sounds (Put it in your bedroom as close to the bed as possible), after you pull the alarm out of the socket, get up and hide the children,
And that means you have to have pre-arranged hiding spots.
A window seat is a great way to start. Make a bench, bolt it to the wall under the bedroom window, and make small doors for the child to hide in. You can do the same for your room. Tell the children just to go if they are ever told, and to stay very quiet until you tell them to come out. And only you. Pretend to be someone else and see if they come to them. Soldiers may be very sneaky and say, “Your parents told me to get you. Come on, let’s go to them!”
Practice this frequently so they are aware of what needs to be done, and to be done in the dark, and to be done without question.
If you can’t make a window bench, then fill your closet up with “boxes”. These boxes are “stacked” to make it look like a storage area, but it’s just a shell. If you are in a manufactured home or a single story home, go to the closet and cut open a hatch to the crawl space. Have a black blanket so you can hide under the blanket to stay concealed. USE YOUR IMAGINATION!
The idea is that soldiers don’t have mchu time to search each home. They have to keep moving onto the next house. Once they leave and the power goes back on – DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING. If the bathroom light was on, leave it on. The smart meters will detect and record ANY changes and it will alert someone that there are people within the home!
Drones will be used to monitor communities and neighborhoods. Going out after dark is the same as going out during the day.
If you go out at night, take a night vision capable video camera. Put black platic around the IR lamp that is usually beneath the camera’s lens. This will prevent the drone from seeing the IR light, but you’ll be able to see the IR lights on the drone in the dark.
If you feel froggy, shoot down the drone AS IT LEAVES! The flight will be level and of constant speed, enough for you to get a bead on it. It’s difficult to tell where the shot came from, and you’ll get some satisfaction of taking one down. These thing are expensive and if they have to redirect one away from another area, that means someone else is getting a break.
If you have to move from one place to another, do so during a rain or thunderstorm. These conditions make drone flying very difficult and seeing anything of value VERY difficult. Yes, it is horrible conditions for you, but at least you will be free.
If, during the day, you see people wandering through your town, ignore them and hide. They may be “spies” looking for the last holdouts. As a rule of thumb, 8 to 80, blind, crippled, or crazy, means anyone may be a threat. Don’t kill them, just let them pass through. Watch them to see if they use a radio. IF they do use one, listen for codes such as, “Secure”, “Subjects”, “Natives”, or “SitRep (Situation Report)”
Such phrases would mean that they are looking for you as wolves in sheep’s clothing. DO NOTHING towards them. Get their photos if you can but remain hidden.
Satellites may detect heat from fireplaces, so use the covert cooking methods like solar cooking, Hay Box cooking or Creveche. If you can, light a match in the sewers to eliminate any flammable gasses, and cook down there. The streets should hide the heat signature well enough, especially in the day. Solar cooking using the back of a pickup may be a good decision as it may imitate the accumulated heat of a canopy.
You will be on your own. You will be the deciding factor if you live free or die free.
But it’s your decision. No one else makes it for you.
And that’s why it’s called FREEDOM.
This makes the future of our already crumbling economy notoriously hard to predict. Whenever I – or anyone else for that matter – calls attention to the fact that a single “black swan” event can come along and change everything almost overnight, we get called a “doomer” or “fear monger” for our trouble. The fact is; the concept of “stability” and “security” is an illusion. As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus said:
“The only constant in this universe is change.”
Or as Isaac Asimov expanded:
“The only constant is change, continuing change, inevitable change. That is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be.”
Our society in particular and world as a whole has become increasingly unstable. While dire predictions persist for events that may or may not happen before the end of 2012, such as; economic meltdown, a violent solar maximum that could take out the power grid, an unusually bad hurricane season, escalating conflicts in the Middle East, major earthquakes on the west coast, a major volcanic eruption, or a human eruption of anger and frustration in America around the upcoming election. We can only guess if those things will come to fruition, and the truth is; while we’re worrying about those things, we will more than likely see other events occur that very few of us can even anticipate at this point.
It is almost as if a “perfect storm” is developing. On top of all of the aforementioned concerns, our government is turning tyrannical and our politicians seem to be more psychopathic than ever. Despite an enormous national debt, record high unemployment and a decaying domestic social structure, our “peace prize” president seems intent on engaging in even more military expansion (e.g. illicit imperialist wars) in the Middle East and locking up American citizens who voice their opposition without charge or due process!
As strange as 2012 has been so far, I fear that things are about to get a whole lot stranger.
The following are 8 economic threats that we were not even talking about at the beginning of the summer, from TheEconomicCollapseBlog.com:
#1 West Nile Virus
What is up with all of the strange disease outbreaks that we have seen so far this year?
Flesh eating disease and the bird flu have both been making global headlines this summer, but in the U.S. right now it is the West Nile Virus that is getting the most attention.
So far more than 1,100 cases of the West Nile Virus have been diagnosed in the United States and more than 41 people have died from it.
More than half of the cases so far have been in Texas, but we have also seen people come down with West Nile Virus in Mississippi, Louisiana, South Dakota, and Oklahoma.
If you live in any of those areas, you might want to do your best to avoid mosquitos for the rest of the summer.
#2 Historic Drought
This summer, the United States has experienced the worst drought that it has seen in more than 50 years.
This weather has been absolutely crippling for farmers and ranchers all over the nation. As I wrote about the other day, about half of all corn being grown in the U.S. is currently either in “poor” or “very poor” condition.
As the drought has dragged on, many farmers and ranchers have become increasingly desperate. In fact, one farmer has even been feeding his cows candy in an attempt to deal with rising feed prices.
Needless to say, this drought has been causing commodity prices to soar.
On Tuesday, the price of corn closed at a record $8.38 a bushel, and the price of soybeans closed at $17.30 a bushel.
#3 The Mississippi River Is Drying Up
Thanks to this drought, rivers and lakes all over the United States are drying up. In fact, there have been reports that millions of fish have been dying because water levels have gotten so low in many areas.
Even the mighty Mississippi River has dropped to dangerously low levels.
At this point, the Mississippi is lower than most people living along the river can ever remember. If it drops much lower, it could potentially have an absolutely devastating impact on the U.S. economy.
A recent NBC News report described what is at stake….
About $180 billion worth of goods move up and down the river on barges, 500 million tons of the basic ingredients for much of the U.S. economy, according to the American Waterways Operators, a trade group. It carries 60 percent of the nation’s grain, 22 percent of the oil and gas and 20 percent of the coal, according to American Waterways Operators. It would take 60 trailer trucks to carry the cargo in just one barge, 144 18-wheeler tankers to carry the oil and gas in one petroleum barge.
If all traffic along the Mississippi was forced to stop, it is estimated that it would cost the U.S. economy about 300 million dollars a day.
And already there have been stoppages along one 11 mile stretch of the river….
Nearly 100 boats and barges were waiting for passage Monday along an 11-mile stretch of the Mississippi River that has been closed because of low water levels, the U.S. Coast Guard said. New Orleans-based Coast Guard spokesman Ryan Tippets said the stretch of river near Greenville, Miss., has been closed intermittently since Aug. 11, when a vessel ran aground.
So what happens if the Mississippi gets even lower?
#4 Wildfires
The extreme heat has also been responsible for the horrific outbreak of wildfires that we have seen in the western United States this year.
So far in 2012, nearly 7 million acres have been burned up.
That is an area about as big as the states of Maryland and Delaware combined.
#5 The Global Elite Hoarding Gold
In the past, the global elite and the mainstream media would mock those who are hoarding gold in anticipation of a major financial collapse.
But now it is the global elite who are hoarding gold.
In a previous article, I discussed how men such as George Soros and John Paulson are investing mind-boggling amounts of money in gold right now. The amount of money that these two individuals are investing in gold is difficult to comprehend….
There was also news last week in an SEC filing that both George Soros and John Paulson had increased their investment in SPDR Gold Trust, the world’s largest publicly traded physical gold exchange traded fund (ETF).
Mr Soros upped his stake in the ETF to 884,400 shares from 319,550 and Mr Paulson bought 4.53m shares, bringing his stake to 21.3m.
At the current price of about $156 a share, these are new investments of about $88m of Mr Soros’ cash and more than $700m from Mr Paulson’s funds. These are significant positions.
Combined, Soros and Paulson dumped more than three quarters of a billion dollars into gold during the second quarter of 2012 alone.
So what are they anticipating?
The central banks of the world have been very busy hoarding gold as well. According to the World Gold Council, global central banks were net buyers of 157.5 metric tons of gold during the second quarter of 2012.
Over the past 20 years there has never been a time when global central banks have accumulated that much gold during a single quarter.
So just what in the world is going on?
#6 Recession In The UK
Everyone knew that Greece was in deep trouble.
And everyone knew that Italy and Spain were in deep trouble.
But it was a surprise to see the UK economy plunge deep into recession. During the second quarter of 2012 alone, the UK economy shrunk by 0.7 percent.
At this point the British economy has contracted for three quarters in a row.
Hopefully things will not get even worse over there.
#7 Major Economic Slowdown In The United States
Considering the fact that the U.S. economy never even came close to recovering from the last recession, it is a bit disheartening to see that it looks like we are headed for another major downturn.
According to Michael Panzer of Financial Armageddon, measurements of economic activity compiled by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia indicate that the U.S. economy is rapidly heading into another recession. If you doubt this, just check out this chart.
And for a lot more reasons why the U.S. economy is entering another recession, check out this article.
#8 Hauled Off To A Mental Institution For What You Believe
Do you ever worry that what you post on Facebook could get you involuntarily committed to a mental institution?
Well, that is exactly what happened to one military vet recently.
A former Marine named Brandon Raub was hauled off to a mental institution because of what he posted on his Facebook page.
This is how the Economic Policy Journal summarized what happened to Raub….
The muscle used to grab Brandon Raub was local Chesterfield County, VA police. Also present during the grab were agents of the FBI and of the Secret Service.
Both the FBI and the Secret Service claim that they were only observing and not participating in the grab. The Chesterfield County police initially stated that they were only carrying out a request from the federal agencies.
The police also claim Raub is not under arrest, even though he was led away in handcuffs and is not permitted to leave the psychiatric ward of a hospital—even though it appears that Raub is not in any way in need of psychological care.
I note this happened in the United States of America, with local police, FBI agents and Secret Service taking part.
The claim that Raub is “not under arrest” is completely and totally ridiculous. The authorities came to his door, slapped handcuffs on him and are holding him in a mental institution against his will.
And now he has been transferred to a facility that is 3 hours away from his family, his supporters and his legal team.
What in the world is America turning into?
The Rutherford Institute is defending Raub, and the following is an excerpt from a statement about this case on their website….
“This is not how justice in America is supposed to work—with Americans being arrested for doing nothing more than exercising their First Amendment rights, forced to undergo psychological evaluations, detained against their will and isolated from their family, friends and attorneys. This is a scary new chapter in our history,” said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. “Brandon Raub is no different from the majority of Americans who use their private Facebook pages to post a variety of content, ranging from song lyrics and political hyperbole to trash talking their neighbors, friends and government leaders.”
This is the kind of thing that we have seen under brutal totalitarian regimes in the past. Dissidents are grabbed by authorities and taken to mental institutions where they are conveniently “disappeared”.
This kind of thing is not supposed to happen in America.
But it is happening.
And you know what? Before the authorities start attacking people for exercising free speech on Facebook perhaps they should clean up their own house.
It turns out that thousands of DHS employees have been convicted of crimes in recent years. The following is from a recent CNS News article….
There have been 2,527 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees and co-conspirators convicted of corruption and other criminal misconduct since 2004, according to a federal auditor.
Our world is becoming a very crazy place.
One thing that most people did see coming this summer was the continuing economic decline in Greece.
At this point Greece is experiencing a full-blown economic depression and it gets worse by the day.
If you can believe it, 1,250 companies have shut down in the second largest city in Greece in 2012 alone.
Ouch.
And many in the financial world believe the the situation in Greece is going to go beyond the breaking point fairly soon.
In fact, analysts at Citibank believe that there is a 90 percent chance that Greece will leave the euro over the next 12 to 18 months.
90 percent?
They sound pretty sure of themselves.
Not that the rest of Europe is in such great shape either.
According to Bloomberg, it looks like Europe will soon be losing about half a million auto industry jobs….
Efforts by PSA Peugeot Citroen (UG) and Fiat SpA (F) to end losses in Europe could cost more than 500,000 people their jobs as automakers and parts suppliers grapple with the effects of the European sovereign debt crisis.
We live in very unusual times.
Things are falling apart all around us and we seem to be rapidly approaching another major economic crisis.
Central banks, governments and Wall Street insiders all seem to be preparing for the worst.
Are you?
The
firepower shopping spree continues unabated as unexplained DHS
ammunition purchases range in the hundreds of millions of rounds. Even
more troubling is the government’s attempt to cover their tracks and
keep this information from the American people!
Something dark is afoot here and the American people deserve to know what the Department of Homeland Security is preparing for.James Smith (the Covert Prepper) has been following these government purchases very closely. Just two days ago, he reported on the purchase of 33 million rounds of ammo for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for the year of 2012 alone:
By James Smith – PPRN News
The madness continues. He has also shed light on the cover-up, in which DHS has hidden the details regarding the costs and amount of ammunition purchased from contractors earlier this year:
The Department of Homeland Security, through the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has requested another 33 million rounds of .223 caliber 62 grain ammunition in the base year, and for 4 subsequent years, with a limit of 165,000,000 rounds. Click on the below images to view screen shots of the documents.
The base year, 2012, allotment of 33 million rounds will be due sixty days after the contract is awarded.
All the ammunition that has been contracted for purchase by the US Government in this month alone is staggering.
On 16 Aug 2012, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency announced on FedBiz.gov, of award going to A2Z Supply Corp, a frequent awardee of ammunition contracts. However, this Wyoming-based company received a big fat ZERO in the award. Look at the picture below, click to make it larger:
There was no solicitation request, no notice of sole supplier, no notice of ANYTHING.James has started a petition of his own to demand that the Obama administration be as good as their word in providing transparency to the American people. Once the petition reaches 10,ooo signatures, James will travel to D.C. and demand that Congress open an investigation into these troubling purchases and the subsequent cover-ups. Survival and Beyond supports this petition and I urge all of our readers and listeners to sign at: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/stop-the-fear/
However, in May of this year, the same Agency, the same branch, ordered 53,000 9 MM 124 Grain +P Bonded Jacketed Hollow Point and 53,000 rounds of .223 Caliber Tactical Patrol Rifle Premium 64 Grain Hi-Shok Pointed Soft Point. 32,000 were to be delivered to Springfield, VA, and the remainder going to Arnold, MO. – For a total of 106,000 rounds.
It seems that the following is no longer the case, nor the practice of this Administration:
“Democracy requires accountability, and accountability requires transparency.”
– President Obama January 2009
It also seems that the recent press by bloggers detailing ammunition purchases has put the Government in a bad mood. Recently, a petition of over 22,000 signers was pulled from a White House website. The petition: Ending the TSA’s abuse of travelers.
Because the first request was filled in May, also won by the A2Z Supply Corporation, it raises the question, what happened to the 106,000 rounds of ammunition. All used in four months? Hardly. This could be described as hording, or stockpiling.
Homeland Security has been telling the American public all along that individuals who stock-pile ammunition should be considered suspicious, yet we’re supposed to shrug it off when they do the same thing?! We have the right to know what DHS has planned and what they’re trying to hide. Please sign the petition and let Obama and Big Sis know that we’re not going to idly stand by while they arm themselves to the teeth and try to sweep it under the rug!
It’s time for all the sleeping sheeple to wake up folks! This cannot possibly be for simple training and target practice as DHS contends, and what does the TSA need with plastic explosives and Ammonium Nitrate?? This a build-up of mass proportions, which I’m afraid can only be explained as a precursor to a martial law crackdown on the American people!
The following report is excerpted from PPRN News:
“Trust, but verify”
- Ronald Reagan
“The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”
- James Madison
Trusting the government to do the right thing is a fool’s errand. Trusting your cat to watch the rabbit while you run to the restroom is a classic example. A cat that is vicious and underhanded will have the rabbit’s foot on it’s key-chain before you get back. A cat that has earned your trust, and one that you trust, will look at the rabbit as a friend.
And what kind of a government do we have?
We have a government that has authorized the murder of US citizens without due process of law. Every article in the Bill of Rights are now subject to the whims of a self professed drug abuser in the White House. And as it turns out, is a closeted bi/homosexual. Our spineless ruler in the White House, narcissistic in every way, has put himself above the good of the Country and has endangered innocent American lives with impunity. Or as Sam Vaknin puts it: “The sadistic narcissist perceives himself as Godlike, ruthless and devoid of scruples, capricious and unfathomable, emotion-less and non-sexual, omniscient, omnipotent and omni-present, a plague, a devastation, an inescapable verdict.”
So it is no wonder that he allows the Queen of Gal Pals, Janet Napolitano, to run up the countries tab buying ammunition for his army of followers. In a recent solicitation for ammunition, even more ammunition is being requested – above and beyond 650 million rounds being requested. All of the ammunition is going to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA. This is not the first time this year that FLETC has requested ammunition.
What are they doing at FLETC? Eating this stuff?
Each ammunition is broken down by the type, and amount that could be contracted to be purchased for each year of the contract.
