US Dept of Homeland Security Training Consortium

The National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) is the principal vehicle through which DHS identifies, develop, tests, and delivers training to state and local emergency responders.
The NDPC membership includes DHS's Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Alabama, the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMIMT), Louisiana State University (LSU), Texas A&M University (TEEX), the Department of Energy's Nevada Test Site (NTS),  Security and Emergency Response Training Center (SERTC), (Transportation Technological Center Inc) Pueblo, Co.; and the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC) – Univ of Hawaii; each member brings a unique set of assets to the domestic preparedness program. The following is brief description of each member and their expertise:
Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP): The CDP provides hands-on specialized training to state and local emergency responders in the management and remediation of WMD incidents. Located at the former home of the U.S. Army Chemical School, Fort McClellan, the CDP conducts live chemical agent training for the nation's civilian emergency response community. The training emergency responders receive at the CDP provides a valid method for ensuring high levels of confidence in equipment, procedures and individual capabilities.
New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (Energetic Materials and Research Testing Center) (EMRTC): EMRTC offers live explosive training including the use of field exercises and classroom instruction. EMRTC is the lead NDPC partner for explosives and firearms, live explosives, and incendiary devices training.
Louisiana State University (LSU) National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (NCBRT): The NCBRT provides high-quality training to emergency responders throughout the United States.  The NCBRT has more than 25 courses that have received DHS certification.  NCBRT has introduced 10 online courses that offer the same high-quality, challenging courses as those taught in the classroom, with the added convenience and flexibility of studying at locations and times that are convenient for the student.  The online courses can be accessed at http://www.ncbrt.lsu.edu/elearn/.   
Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC):  NERRTC delivers a set of courses to prepare state and local officials for the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction. Courses are developed and designed to provide each specific segment of the emergency response community with the tools needed to accomplish its role in the event of a WMD incident.  Additionally, TEEX has developed an Interactive Internet WMD Awareness Course for emergency responders.  TEEX also provides technical assistance to state and local jurisdictions in the development of WMD assessment plans.
U.S. Department of Energy's Nevada Test Site - Counter Terrorism Operations Support (CTOS): The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) CTOS-Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training program located at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) is the nation’s premier weapons of mass destruction (WMD) radiological/nuclear training center. Since 1998, CTOS has focused on training America's First Responders to prevent, mitigate, or respond to terrorist’s use of radiological or nuclear weapons of mass destruction. Our mission is to develop and deliver the most realistic and highest quality training in support of Homeland Security using our extensive radiological expertise with the unique assets of the NNSS.

Security and Emergency Response Training Center (SERTC), (Transportation Technological Center Inc) Pueblo, CO - SERTC is recognized world-wide as the premier hands-on HAZMAT emergency response training center providing elite training opportunities in emergency response for surface transportation.

National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC) – University of Hawaii:  The NDPTC is a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), which was expanded in 2007 to address all-hazards capabilities by the addition of the University of Hawai`i. The NDPTC is authorized to develop and deliver training and educational programs related to homeland security and disaster management, with a specific focus on natural hazards, coastal communities, and the special needs and opportunities of islands and territories.  Uniquely positioned geographically and culturally, the NDPTC works collaboratively to develop and deliver training and education in the areas of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery to governmental, private, tribal, and non-profit entities, and under-represented/under-served communities. It incorporates urban planning and environmental management, emphasizing community preparedness and addressing the needs of vulnerable at-risk populations.
