NRA President Blames Obama For ‘Hundreds’ Of Death Threats
On a right-wing talk show on Thursday, David Keene, the president of the National Rifle Association, blamed President Obama and the left for what he says have been hundreds of death threats made against him and his family. Host Ernest Istook, who is also a columnist for Breitbart, asked Keene to elaborate on his death threats, and Keene took the opportunity to:What this reflects are two things. One is the uncivil way in which idealogues on the left in this country go after their enemies. The second thing it shows is the reflection of the left and the President of the United States’ attempt to demonize and blame those who disagree with them for everything that he doesn’t like.Listen:
There’s nothing funny or ironic about violent threats, but it’s worth noting that dangerous and threatening rhetoric takes on a whole other dimension when the person responsible for it is a gun owner. And yet, Keene and his organization continue to oppose attempts by Obama and advocates of gun safety to prevent people who aren’t mentally sound from owning firearms.
Meanwhile, the NRA have been conspicuously absent in issuing condemnations of their own members who have threatened lawmakers who support more gun regulations in the last few weeks.
