BREAKING: House Republicans Take the Stand for Our Jailed Marine That Obama WON’T [WATCH]

In the almost six months since U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi was taking into custody by Mexican officials at the border, countless Americans have spoken up in his support.
Largely absent from that discussion has been the administration of President Barack Obama.
Many have called for boycotts of Mexican products and travel until Tahmooressi is released. Many more have taken to the streets to demonstrate in support of the jailed Marine and against the Obama administration that has all but ignored his plight. Even Lt. Col. Oliver North has called for decisive action from the Obama administration to get Tahmooressi back home.
Now some House Republicans are taking action because President Obama won’t, according to a report from Fox News.
Appearing with Greta van Susteren, Montel Williams and Rep. Matt Salmon announced a House subcommittee hearing into Tahmooressi’s situation.

The Marine has been in a Mexican jail since the end of March after crossing into Mexican territory carrying all that he owned in his pickup truck because he was in the process of moving from Florida to Texas. His possessions included three legally-owned firearms that Mexico considers “military grade,” and therefore illegal. Tahmooressi has insisted all along that his border crossing was accidental.
The subcommittee hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1.
“The president has had ample opportunity to pick up the phone and call the president of Mexico,” Salmon said, speaking of his reasons for championing the hearing.

Williams, a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps himself, says that Tahmooressi suffers from PTSD as a result of his combat duty and is not getting the treatment he needs from the Mexican government.
“This is about taking care of our soldiers who give us the right to speak out this way,” Williams added.
Sgt. Tahmooressi’s commander in chief has all but ignored this situation, but that’s why the Founders provided us with a free press–so that Americans would be informed about stories that the government might prefer to sweep under the rug.
Tahmooressi’s service to his country is, as Williams said, one of the reasons why America enjoys this freedom. It’s time for America to return the favor.
