Dem. Senator says Putin's Ukraine invasion is a sign that he's 'panicking' due to Obama's obvious 'strength.'

Democrats- at least publicly - claim to believe a lot of crazy stuff. They think ObamaCare is a political positive, they think the Constitution is outdated, and they think that we can only obey the rules by breaking them. Tortured logic is their bread and butter.
So, when they start claiming that Putin has begun to panic due to the Obama administration's strength, we really shouldn't be surprised.
According to Democrat Senator Chris Murphy (Conn), that's just what has happened. The craziness goes something like this: Obama is so strong, and his international clout is so potent, that Ukraine felt confident that they could ditch Russia and join the EU. As a result, Putin panicked and went on the offensive.
Got it? Putin is so afraid that Obama had secured Ukraine’s EU-centric future, that he freaked out, overcame his fears, ignored all that supposed 'strength', and invaded.
"The fact that we are here today with a very weak Russia - having had the entirety of the Ukraine turn away from Russia and towards the EU and having to have engaged in a panicky reaction of invasion - is a result, in part, of the United States strength on this issue. Standing with the protesters throughout that difficult period of time at the end of last year and the beginning of this year."Murphy is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee who has made several trips to Ukraine with his good pal John McCain. That friendship might explain some of why his statement above is so completely detached from reality.
Senator Murphy went on to claim that the United States will stand together with Europe and, if Putin "doesn't reverse course in the coming days, I imagine there's going to be a new round of crippling economic sanctions."
...Y'know, because Putin has demonstrated his deep, abiding, concern about sanctions.
So, remember America. The invasion of Crimea didn't occur because Putin saw an opportunity to take a valuable territory while he was opposed by an impotent, mewling, President. The fact is he was so intimidated by Obama's awesome display of foreign policy that hefelt he had no choice but to invade. Obama's just that intimidating.
Senator Chris Murphy, who will make you weep for the efficacy of the Foreign Relations Committee, appears in the oddly stretched box below. Be sure to "like" Robert Laurie over on Facebook and follow him on Twitter. You'll be glad you did.
