Eric Nordstrom,
the former Libyan regional security officer with the State Department,
became emotional during his opening statement to the House committee
investigating the deadly attack on an American consulate in Benghazi.
His voice broke describing his friends, the deceased American service
and diplomatic personnel, who lost their lives in that attack. RELATED: Sen. Graham Rips Obama, Hillary Ahead Of Benghazi Hearing: Either ‘Political Spin’ Or ‘Detached From Reality’
“I would also like to thank the committee for your continued efforts in investigating all the details and all the decisions relating to the attack on our diplomatic facility — specifically the committee’s labors to uncover what happened prior, during, and after the attack matter,” Nordstrom began.
“It matters to me personal and it matters to my colleagues – to my colleagues at the Department of State,” he continued as his voice broke. “It matters to the American public for whom we serve. And, most importantly, it matters to the friends and family of Ambassador [Christopher] Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods who were murdered on September 11, 2012.”
