OBAMAS GOVERNMENTS ASSASSINATION PLOTS & PATSIES‎ > ‎

2012 (20+ Total)

OBAMACSI.COM
The following plots all occurred within the calendar year of 2012. While some of these cases may in fact have been legit threats to Barack Obama, most if not all of them appear to be staged events conducted to give the appearance that Obama is in tremendous danger.

Subsequently, almost all suspects charged have never had a trial or been convicted of any crime. An evaluation of the weapons, plots, and rhetoric contributed to these men and woman appear to be ripped from a bad comic book. After almost four years and more than 45 blatantly unsuccessful assassination plots, mental deficiency or retardation must be attribute to these suspects unless they are indeed patsies in a bigger scheme orchestrated by intelligence agencies.

Abstract: A South Florida man has been charged with threatening to harm or assassinate President
Barack Obama through postings on Facebook.

A Secret Service affidavit filed in Miami federal court identifies the man as 20-year-old Joaquin Amador Serrapio Jr.
The affidavit says Serrapio posted the threatening comments under the Facebook name "Jay Valor" during Obama's visit last week to the University of Miami. One of the comments says "Jay Valor" would put a bullet through the president's head and everyone should watch on YouTube.
There's no indication Serrapio took any steps to carry out the threat.
Serrapio was free Tuesday on $70,000 bail with an arraignment scheduled in March. His court-appointed attorney declined comment (Fox News, 2012).

Abstract: Court records show a Miami college student intends to plead guilty to making threatening posts against President Barack Obama on Facebook.
A change of plea hearing is set Wednesday for 20-year-old Joaquin Amador Serrapio Jr. He had previously pleaded not guilty.
Federal prosecutors say Serrapio posted threats on Facebook in February coinciding with a speech Obama gave at the University of Miami. Serrapio attends a different school, Miami-Dade College.
One post threatened to put a bullet in the president's head. Another asked if anyone wanted to help with a presidential assassination.
There's no indication Serrapio intended to act on the threats. His lawyer has said Serrapio never wanted to hurt the president. The lawyer didn't immediately respond to an email Thursday.

Documents Reveal Bin Laden Directive To Kill Obama, Petraeus
Date: March 16, 2012
Source: Fox News

Abstract: U.S. officials are reviewing documents that suggest
Usama bin Laden before his death urged his Al Qaeda network to attack the aircraft of President Obama and Gen. David Petraeus, Fox News has confirmed.

The directive was first disclosed in a report last summer, after a CIA-led Navy SEALs team took down bin Laden at his Pakistan compound. The Washington Post, though, reported new details of that alleged plan Friday after viewing the documents.
According to the report, bin Laden wanted Obama killed so that an "unprepared" Vice President Biden would take over.
The directive was cited as a sign that bin Laden remained determined to strike America long after the Sept. 11, 2011, attacks -- but officials also downplayed the actual threat posed by the order.
A senior U.S. official told Fox News that bin Laden "clearly had bold ambitions to kill as many innocent people as possible" but Al Qaeda's capabilities did not match the leader's intent.
"Leading up to and since (bin Laden's) death we know that (Al Qaeda's) capacity to pull off those types of complex attacks has been greatly diminished, and that Bin Laden himself spent much of his time brooding and providing guidance that often fell on deaf ears," the official said.
The official said that government analysts have spent "countless hours" reviewing documents taken from the compound last May, and that the government is working to declassify "as much of that information as possible." The documents still are not expected to be made public for months.
A Washington Post columnist reported, after viewing the documents, that they showed bin Laden instructed his deputies to organize special cells in Afghanistan and Pakistan to target Obama and Petraeus.
"The reason for concentrating on them," bin Laden explained to his top lieutenant, according to the article, "is that Obama is the head of infidelity and killing him automatically will make (Vice President Joe) Biden take over the presidency."
"Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the U.S. into a crisis," bin Laden continued. "As for Petraeus, he is the man of the hour ... and killing him would alter the war's path" in Afghanistan.
A former intelligence official told Fox News that the order was taken seriously but was determined to be merely aspirational in nature (Fox News, 2012).

AbstractThe Secret Service arrested a Virginia man for allegedly making repeated death threats against President Barack Obama, authorities say.
Christopher Hecker of Waynesboro was arrested this week, and is being detained pending an evaluation, The (Staunton) News Leader reported.
Hecker allegedly sent an e-mail to WVTF Public Radio in Roanoke April 19 with a subject line saying: "I am going to kill the president of the United States."
An affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Harrisonburg said the FBI traced the e-mail account to Hecker, pegging him for investigation.
The parent company of CNN contacted the Secret Service April 23, saying the same e-mail address had issued bomb threats to the White House and several radio stations, the newspaper said. The author of the e-mails made his location known and boasted that no one had arrested him yet. The Secret Service contacted Hecker regarding the threats, and he responded that he would surrender, but refused to answer questions.
After three more bomb threats, Hecker made authorities aware of his location again Wednesday, allegedly following it with another message that he would "require a vegetarian diet in prison" after killing the president.
Local police worked with Secret Service to arrest Hecker on a temporary detention order this past week (UPI, 2012).

Feds Nab Alleged White Supremacist Who Wanted Obama, Holder Removed From OfficeDate: May 30, 2012Source: Fox News Abstract: An alleged white supremacist from Virginia was arrested Wednesday after he purportedly obtained a fully automatic AK-47 and expressed support for violence toward political figures including President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.
The Justice Department said Douglas Howard Story, 48, was charged with making a firearm in violation of the National Firearms Act, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
A source alerted authorities after Story, of Manassas, Va., posted information on a website indicating he was preparing to buy an AK-47 and have it modified to become fully automatic, a Justice Department statement said. He allegedly said he was planning to ambush and murder any law enforcement officer who stopped him on the street if martial law was enacted in the US.
Story also made statements on various white supremacy internet forums under the name "Confederate Brother." He allegedly ranted about his hatred of minorities and expressed a desire for Obama and Holder to be removed from office "with a 30.06," likely referring to a rifle round.
According to court records, Story provided a semi-automatic AK-47 and $120 to undercover law enforcement with the intent of having the weapon modified to become fully automatic, the Justice Department said. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon by members of FBI Washington Field Office's Joint Terrorism Task Force after allegedly receiving the modified weapon from an undercover agent (Fox News, 2012)

Abstract: The United States offers millions for information leading to the capture of the world's most wanted terrorists.
A Somali militant group has purportedly countered with an offer of camels for U.S. officials.
Al-Shabaab has placed a bounty of 10 camels for President Barack Obama and two camels for information on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
An audio statement posted on jihadist websites purportedly from Al-Shabaab jeered news that the United States is offering millions of dollars for information on seven key members of al-Shabaab through its Rewards for Justice program.
The man on the audio claimed to be Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, considered by the State Department to be Al-Shabaab's leading fundraiser. The United States has offered $5 million for information of his whereabouts.
"Whoever brings the mujahidin information about the whereabouts of infidel Obama and the lady of Bill Clinton, the woman named Hillary Clinton, I will give a reward," the man said.
A study by Galkayo University, which looked at the effects of drought on livestock, said the average cost of a camel in Somalia is $700.
CNN can not independently verify the authenticity of the audio recording, which was purportedly made by Khalaf during a speech to followers in the southern port city of Merca.
The U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice program is offering $7 million for information on the location of Ahmed Abdi Aw-Mohamed, the founder of the Islamist group in Somalia.
This year, he and al Qaeda's leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, released a joint video formally announcing a merger between the terror groups.
In announcing the bounties on Mohamed and his key associates Thursday, the State Department called al-Shabaab "a threat to the stability of East Africa and to the national security interests of the United States."
The State Department said it is also offering up to $5 million each for information leading to the location of four of Aw-Mohamed's associates, including Khalaf. In addition, it is offering up to $3 million each for two of the terror group's other leaders (CNN, 2012)

1. $7 million: Ahmed Abdi aw-Mohamed, operational commander
2. $5 million: Ibrahim Haji Jama, key leader from Somaliland who helped form Harakat Shabaab al-Mujahidin
3. $5 million: Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, dual Swedish-Somali national who has raised funds and helped direct attacks
4. $5 million: Bashir Mohamed Mahamoud, military commander and coordinator for al-Qaida operations in Somalia
5. $5 million: Mukhtar Robow, spokesperson and spiritual leader
6. $3 million: Zakariya Ismail Ahmed Hersi, head of intelligence
7. $3 million: Abdullahi Yare, head of media operations
-Source: U.S. Rewards for Justice program
The State Department announced the rewards Thursday through its Rewards for Justice program, marking the first time a specific premium has been placed on the heads of top members of al-Shabab, which the United States considers a terrorist group.

The U.S. is offering up to $7 million for al-Shabab's operational leader Ahmed Abdi aw-Mohamed. Separate rewards of up to $5 million each were offered for four of his top associates -- Ibrahim Haji Jama, Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, Bashir Mohamed Mahamoud, and Mukhtar Robow.

Rewards of up to $3 million were also offered for two other top members of the group, Zakariya Ismail Ahmed Hersi and Abdullahi Yare.

Roland Marchal, a leading al-Shabab expert, said that the bounty may be aimed at weakening the organization and buying intelligence. But he adds that many of those on the list are not influential in the group's current operations.

"They are well known outside the organization," he said. "But I doubt, for the little I know, they are very influential inside."

The State Department said the group is responsible for the killing of thousands of Somali civilians, Somali peace activists, international aid workers, journalists and African Union peacekeepers.

It called al-Shabab's activities a threat to the stability of East Africa and to the national security interests of the United States.

The U.S. placed al-Shabab on its list of terrorist organizations in 2008. The militant group has been linked to terrorist attacks in Somalia and Uganda.

Al-Shabab once controlled much of Somalia and nearly all of the capital, Mogadishu, but lost most of its territory during an 18-month offensive involving African Union forces, the Somali government, Ethiopia and Kenya

Abstract: District of Columbia police say they are investigating what they say was the intentional crash of an SUV into a downtown Washington office building.
Police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said the vehicle crashed into the building in the 1000 block of Connecticut Avenue, N.W., around 7:45 p.m.
Crump said the driver suffered minor injuries, but she said investigators “believe the driver did so intentionally.” She said the vehicle was stolen and the driver has been apprehended.
WRC-TV reported that the vehicle interior and the driver had been deliberately doused with gasoline.
Crump said police were looking into those reports.
City police and the FBI were investigating late Friday evening.
Crump said the building, located less than a mile from The White House and in the city’s business district, has a mix of offices, retail shops and restaurants (CBS Washington, 2012).

Controversial Pastor Declares “Obama Dead”Date: July 9, 2012Source: Infowars Abstract: Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who gained notoriety after he burned the Qur’an, has produced a video calling for the death of the Obama administration. In the video, Jones stands beside a mock gravestone that reads “Obama Dead” and talks about the failures of Obama.
In 2010, Jones announced he planned to burn 200 Qur’ans on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The threat by the Christian Dove World Outreach Center pastor resulted in protests around the world in which 20 people died.
Jones, who announced in October he would run for president, denounced Obama for supporting abortion and allowing an influx of illegal aliens into the country.

Feds: Wash. Man Who Threatened Obama Had Arsenal

Yahoo News

Abstract: A Washington state man accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obamaraised a pump-action shotgun at officers who came to his door, but one managed to grab the barrel before any shots were fired, a Secret Service agent wrote in charging papers Wednesday.
Special Agent Bryan Molnar and Federal Way police officer Andy Hensing went to Anton Caluori's apartment on Tuesday afternoon, after a profanity-laced email landed in an FBI inbox stating: "I will kill the president!!!!! ... 'I' want you to come and get me ... you can't afford to call my bluff."
Caluori, 31, didn't answer the door for several minutes when the officers knocked, but when he did, he was wearing a black bandolier filled with 12-gauge shotgun shells, Molnar wrote.
Attached to the bandolier was a large knife, the complaint said. A revolver rested in a holster on his ankle, and his right hand was behind his back.
The officers shouted for Caluori to show his hands, and when he finally did, he was holding a stockless, pistol-grip pump-action shotgun, the complaint said.
"Officer Hensing grabbed the gun barrel as Caluori lifted it in our direction, and I grabbed Caluori's person," Molnar wrote.
Caluori struggled, but ultimately they disarmed him, he said. The gun was loaded to capacity, including a round in the chamber, and the safety was off.
Caluori was charged Wednesday with making a threat against the president, which carries up to five years in prison, and with assaulting a federal officer, which carries up to 20 years.
He appeared to have several cuts and scratches on his arms when he appeared, with a shaved head, in U.S. District Court in Seattle. His attorney, Kyana K. Stephens, said she intended to request a psychological examination for him, and a detention hearing was set for Monday.
According to the complaint, inside the apartment, where Caluori lives with his mother, was an arsenal, with an AK-47-style rifle in the kitchen, with eight loaded 40-round magazines nearby. In the bedroom, under the bed, was a Bushmaster AR-15 rifle, with a loaded 100-round drum magazine.
There was a loaded .45-caliber pistol by the front door, and a number of marijuana plants, the complaint said.
The U.S. attorney's office in Seattle confirmed that Caluori had served in the Navy and had been discharged within the past 10 years. Further details of his service could not immediately be confirmed (Yahoo News, 2012).

Title:
7 Dead, 24 Others Wounded In Weekend Violence
Date: August 25, 2012
Source:
CBS Chicago

Abstract: It has been a terrifying and deadly weekend in Chicago, with at least seven people dead and at least 24 more wounded in shootings since Friday afternoon.

And as CBS 2’s Mike Parker reports, as the death toll rises, demands for answers from community activists are growing.
Speaking from an unrelated event at 57th and Carpenter streets in the Englewood neighborhood, police Supt. Garry McCarthy emphasized that the big picture is not represented by violence in a few specific areas.
“As we work on these issues in those very specific neighborhoods, the rest of the city is functioning s it normally would be. The rest of the city is safe, and we’re not going to give up until we ensure that everybody’s safe here in the Englewood District, where we’ve got a very significant reduction in the murder rate this year,” McCarthy said.
But one of the deadly shootings happened just a few blocks from President Barack Obama’s Chicago home.
“Three blocks over, that’s it. Three blocks. He’s right there,” said Freeman Richmond, who lives on the next block on Drexel Boulevard.
In the shooting, a young man was sitting in his car with his girlfriend, when he lost his life to an armed robber.
Stephin Williams and his girlfriend were in their car around 2:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of South Drexel Boulevard, in the Kenwood neighborhood about three blocks northwest of Obama’s Chicago home on Greenwood Avenue. Two men walked up with a handgun and announced a robbery, police said.
When Williams attempted to fight, one of the males shot him multiple times.
Williams, 23, of the 4000 block of South Lake Park Avenue, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:10 a.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Richmond was driving home when he saw police swarming to the scene.
“When I came around the block, the kid was laying face down right there. He wasn’t moving,” Richmond told CBS 2’s Mike Puccinelli. “I paused for a minute and looked at him, and they finally picked him up and put him in the ambulance, and I drove on away.”
Even with the proximity to the heavily-guarded presidential residence, violence is not new to the area, Richmond said.
“I live right up the street. This is not the first time this neighborhood has been violated with gunfire. It keeps continuing,” he said.
Richmond is a Vietnam veteran, and he finds the violence and heavy-duty weapons being used in his neighborhood highly disturbing.
“It kind of brings back memories of death in Vietnam, but here, the level of violence is getting to an extent that it seems like a war zone, you know?” he said. “People having automatic weapons and clips that hold 16 rounds — I think in America, it’s ridiculous.”
And he believes that the Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Police are doing all they can.
“I don’t have anything against the mayor and the police; I think they do a good job. That’s not the problem. I think the community needs to do a little bit more policing of their kids. I think that’s more important.”
The shooting that killed Williams was one of five deadly incidents in less than 24 hours between Friday and Saturday afternoons.
At 5:42 p.m. Friday, Lucian Dreux, 17, was shot and killed in the 7900 block of South Drexel Avenue, in the East Chatham neighborhood.
Dreux and a 42-year-old woman were standing outside when someone riding a mountain bike opened fire.
Bullets hit the boy in the face and abdomen, police said, and the woman suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh.
Dreux, who lived a couple of blocks away in the 8000 block of South Ingleside Avenue, was initially taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where doctors pronounced him dead at 6:25 p.m., authorities said.
The woman was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
Police said the motive for the shooting remained unclear Friday night, as witnesses were uncooperative with Area South detectives.
Around the same time, Noah Cruz, 30, was shot in the chest in the 3000 block of South Wallace Street, in the Bridgeport neighborhood.
Cruz, of the 800 block of West 31st Street, was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.
Later Friday night, a 34-year-old man died after he was shot twice in the back near his home in the South Side’s West Chesterfield neighborhood, police said.
Phillip McCall, of the 200 block of East 89th Street, was gunned down around 8 p.m. Friday in the 8800 block of South Indiana Avenue, authorities said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 8:48 p.m.
And in broad daylight Saturday afternoon, one person was killed and two others were wounded in the 7900 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.
The victims were a 17-year-old girl who was shot in the back, an 18-year-old man who was shot in the leg, and a 20-year-old man, who was dead on the scene, according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien.
The 18-year-old, identified as Aaron Gaithan, was later pronounced dead at Northwestern Hospital.
The most recent fatal shooting was early Sunday in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side.
Rashad Pratt, 28, was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle near 91st Street and East End Avenue.
Pratt, of the 9000 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A total of 24 people were wounded in shootings since Friday evening. One of the youngest victims reported by police was a 15-year-old girl, who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest Friday night as she smoked marijuana in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The girl and a teenage boy were hanging out in the 0 to 100 block of West 112th Street when the boy moved a gun and it fired, police said. Paramedics took the girl to the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition, authorities said.
Police said the shooting appeared to be accidental (CBS Chicago, 2012).

Soldiers Allegedly Plotted To Kill Obama, Oust Government
Date: August 27, 2012

The Hill

Abstract: Army soldiers formed a militia group in Georgia that plotted to overthrow the U.S. government — and they killed a fellow soldier and his girlfriend to keep the plot secret, prosecutors alleged Monday, according to the
Associated Press.
Prosecutors in the Long County, Ga., case say that the militia group planned to overtake the nearby Fort Stewart, to bomb a dam in Washington state and poison the state’s apple crop and ultimately overthrow the government and assassinate the president, according to reports.
The group of former and activity duty U.S. service members spent at least $87,000 on guns and bomb components, prosecutors said.
The anarchist allegations emerged Monday during the trial where four soldiers are accused of killing former soldier Michael Roark and his 17-year-old girlfriend Tiffany York, to stop their plan from being revealed.
"This domestic terrorist organization did not simply plan and talk," prosecutor Isabel Pauley told the judge. "Prior to the murders in this case, the group took action. Evidence shows the group possessed the knowledge, means and motive to carry out their plans."
The militia group’s name is F.E.A.R, which stands for Forever Enduring Always Ready. Prosecutors did not know how many members the group had, according to published reports.
The four soldiers accused of killing Roark knew each other at Fort Stewart. One of the four soldiers charged, Pfc. Michael Burnett, backed up the prosecutor’s claims Monday, after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter and agreed to testify against the others, the AP reported.
The other defendants, Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, Sgt. Anthony Peden and Pvt. Christopher Salmon, have been charged in criminal court with murder and criminal gang activity, among other charges. The Army also filed charges against the four soldiers, according to reports, although it has not acted on them (The Hill, 2012).

Title: Another Person Shot Near Obama’s Chicago HomeDate: August 31, 2012Source: CBS Chicago Abstract: A teenage boy was shot about a block from President Obama’s home, in the second such incident in the past week.
The 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg and buttock in the 5000 block of South Woodlawn Avenue about 4:20 a.m., police said.
The shooting scene is about a block east of the heavily guarded street where the Obamas have a home in the Kenwood neighborhood.
He was taken in “stable” condition to an unidentified hospital, according to police.
Last weekend, another shooting a few blocks from President Barack Obama’s Chicago home turned out to be fatal.
“Three blocks over, that’s it. Three blocks. He’s right there,” said Freeman Richmond, who lives on the next block on Drexel Boulevard.

Secret Service Arrests Charlotte Man For Twitter Death Threats Against Barack Obama
Date: September 6, 2012
Source:
Smoking Gun

Abstract: A North Carolina man was arrested yesterday for threatening to kill President Barack Obama in a series of Twitter messages, one of which warned that, “Ima hit president Obama with that Lee Harvey Oswald swag,” The Smoking Gun has learned.
Donte Jamar Sims, 21, is charged in a felony criminal complaint accusing him of threatening the president’s life in five tweets published September 3. Sims, pictured in the adjacent mug shot, is locked up in advance of a federal detention hearing scheduled for next Tuesday.
In an interview with Secret Service agents yesterday at his Charlotte home, Sims admitted to posting the threats because “he hated President Obama,”according to a U.S. District Court filing. While Sims “asserted he was high on marijuana when he made the threats,” he acknowledged that he “understood what he was doing and that it was wrong,” investigators reported.
Sims’s tweets, which were discovered by a Secret Service intelligence specialist, were published over a 15-minute period early Monday morning. One post warned that, “Well Ima Assassinate president Obama this evening !...Gotta get this monkey off my chest while he's in town -_-.” Another message claimed that the Secret Service “is gonna be defenseless once I aim the Assault Rifle at Barack’s Forehead… F* the #DNC.”
When a Twitter follower asked, “U serious??” in response to one of the Obama threats, Sims replied, “as a Heart Attack.”

In a sworn affidavit, Secret Service Agent Wayne Bourg, Jr. reported that Sims smiled as the federal investigator read aloud the five tweets. But Sims’s demeanor changed after he was transported to a police precinct, where the suspect “asserted that he was sorry he sent the messages threatening to kill the President of the United States and provided me with a written apology,” added Bourg.
Obama arrived in Charlotte yesterday and briefly appeared onstage with Bill Clinton last night at the Democratic National Convention.
Sims’s Twitter account--@DestroyLeague_D--remains online, lists 500 followers, and describes him as the rapper Lupe Fiasco’s “#1 fan.” Based on his Twitter posts Tuesday, Sims apparently watched First Lady Michelle Obama’s DNC speech that evening. “Michelle Obama sexy as Hell, I ain't even gone Front,” he wrote at 10:39 PM. About 20 minutes later, Sims tweeted, “Barack ain't in town? You know Michelle hittin up 935 after this.” Club 935 is a popular Charlotte nightspot.
One of Sims’s final tweets yesterday--before the Secret Service showed up at his door—reported, “Smoking a L as I wait on my Chinese Food.”
North Carolina court records show that Sims was arrested in March on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. He was collared last June for pot possession, carrying an invalid driver’s license, and possessing drug paraphernalia (Smoking Gun, 2012).

Abstract: For the
second time in less than a week, Secret Service agents were called to investigate threats made against President Barack Obama by Central Floridians.
On Saturday, Orange County deputies said Terrence Bonney, 53, placed five angry calls to 911 to express his feelings about government, law enforcement and President Barack Obama.  It came at the same time that Obama was in the area giving campaign speeches.
The 911 calls were released on Tuesday. You can listen to the full calls at the links below.

Secret Service agents were sent to investigate, and deputies arrested Bonney for misusing the 911 system. Bonney told Local 6 as he was leaving jail that he called 911 because of a dog.
"Yes, because of a homeless dog I was trying to help," Bonney said.
Neighbors, however, said he should have been in jail years ago.
"Big problem man, big problem he is always screaming," said neighbor Sam Ortiz. "You don't know what to expect from people like that."
The inappropriate 911 calls were enough for his arrest, but while being booked into jail, deputies said he yelled, "It's like I shot JFK" and "I guess you can't threaten the president."
Then, he told deputies about a picture of Obama in his house.
"It's a picture of Obama with a noose around his head, with a bullet hole in the center of his forehead," said Bonney's neighbor, Michael Gatten, who believes Bonney has the potential to be violent.

"For me, it's a hundred times worse than the president," said Gatten. "He's made statements like, 'I'll destroy you and your family.'"
Gatten said he endures similar behavior year-round from his neighbor's lawn ornaments, which consist of bloodied troll dolls impaled on stakes and Christmas inflatable toys defiled with swastikas.
"I have an 8-year-old daughter and she doesn't need to hear the words he yells at me and my family and she doesn't have to see swastikas on the front lawn," said Gatten.
As far as the sheriff's office is aware, Bonney has not been in any real trouble before this threat against the president.
Bonney told deputies he did not intend to hurt the president.
Last week, a Tavares police officer was placed under investigation after a Facebook comment was posted on her page referencing past presidential assassins.
Officer Sarah Coursey is under investigation after the Tavares Police Department received an email Thursday night, as Obama spoke at the Democratic National Convention, about the comment, which stated, "Where's Lee Harvey Oswald or John Wilkes Booth when you need them!?!? :)"  (Click Orlando, 2012).

Va. Man: No Lynching Connotations To Strung-Up 'Nobama' Chair
Date: September 21, 2012

Washington Times

Abstract: A Centreville man who hung an empty chair from a tree in his backyard with a sign reading "Nobama" attached to it denies that it was meant to represent any inference to lynching or had any racist connotations, though he did manage to "get on the radar" of the Secret Service.

Doug Burger said he was "Eastwooding," according to local Washington news outlet WJLA.
"I loved Clint Eastwood's speech" at the Republican nominating convention, he said.
Mr. Eastwood delivered a free-form speech on the final night of the convention in which he addressed an invisible President Obama supposedly sitting in a chair next to him on the stage, drawing applause from some but ridicule from others. "Saturday Night Live" lampooned the incident during its TV season premiere on Saturday.
Mr. Burger said that people always steal his political signs, so he thought he'd at least make them work to take it away this time, and that he failed to see what all the fuss is about.
"I am not a racist in any fashion," he said. "I know how to build a noose, really. If I wanted to make a noose, I could do that. I did not. I had no intention for that to occur."
He has taken the chair down from the tree, but said he felt the whole hubbub was "really an attack on free speech."
Mr. Obama is scheduled to make a Friday campaign stop in Woodbridge, Va (Washington Times, 2012)

Birmingham Man Charged With Tweeting Threats Against Obama
Date: September 24, 2012
Source: Fox 6 News

Abstract: A 25-year-old man from Birmingham has been arrested and charged with threatening President Barack Obama by using Twitter.

The Secret Service confirms that Jarvis Britton was charged with making a threat against the president through the social media website Twitter.
According to court documents filed Sept. 21, a Secret Service agent received an anonymous call on June 30 informing him that a man named Jarvis Britton had used his computer to threaten the life of President Obama.
The threatening tweets originated on June 28, when Britton allegedly tweeted "Free speech? Really? Let's test this! Let's kill the president!"
He reportedly followed that message with another tweet the same day: "I'm going to finish this, if they get me, they get me! #ohwell. I think we could get the president with cyanide. #MakeItSlow."
Officials say Britton tweeted the next day, "Barack Obama, I wish you were DEAD!"
Court documents say a Secret Service agent interviewed Britton and informed him of the seriousness of the issue but no further action was taken at that time.
On Sept. 20, the USSS Internet Threat Desk in D.C. contacted the Secret Service agent and informed him that Britton sent another tweet threatening the president's life on Sept. 14. That message read: "Let's kill the president. F.E.A.R."
Based on those messages, authorities said they have probable cause to believe Britton "knowingly and willfully" threated to take the president's life.
Neither U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance nor public defender Kevin Butler were available Monday to speak about the case.
A preliminary detention hearing for Britton is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at the Hugo L. Black courthouse in Birmingham. Britton is currently in federal custody (Fox 6 News, 2012).

Kentucky Man Detained After Running Obama Roadblock With 500 Rounds Of Ammunition
Date: September 26, 2012
Source:
Fox News

Abstract: An eastern Kentucky man has been detained by federal authorities after allegedly running through a roadblock while carrying multiple firearms during President Barack Obama's visit to the Cincinnati region this month.

A federal criminal complaint unsealed in Covington on Wednesday says Kerry T. Prater of West Liberty had three weapons and at least 500 rounds of ammunition when he ran through an Erlanger police roadblock on Sept. 17. Obama's motorcade passed through northern Kentucky that day on the way to Cincinnati.
The complaint, written by Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Agent Ronald Young, says Prater has a lengthy criminal history and had been previously declared mentally ill.
Prater's listed attorney, Kerry Neff of Covington, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday afternoon.
Prater is scheduled to make an initial appearance in federal court in Covington on Friday.
Young wrote that police erected the roadblock that afternoon. Air Force One landed at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport in Hebron, Ky., about 16 miles south of Cincinnati.
The suspect ran through the roadblock and was forced off the road by an Erlanger police officer, Young wrote.
"Prater refused to exit the vehicle and (the officer) removed him from the vehicle," Young wrote.
After Prater was out of the car, the police officer saw a partially concealed .38 caliber revolver on the front passenger floorboard, Young wrote. The officer then found a .223 caliber rifle hidden under a towel on the rear floorboard with four loaded magazines and 500 additional rounds of ammunition, Young wrote.
A search of Prater's car turned up a third revolver as well, Young wrote.
Erlanger police initially arrested Prater and held him in the Kenton County Jail on three counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon and fleeing.
A subsequent investigation turned up Prater's criminal history, which includes a six-month jail sentence for assault, a short jail sentence for menacing, a 60-day suspended sentence for harassment, a 60-day suspended jail sentence for assault of a family member, a one-year suspended sentence for carrying a concealed deadly weapon and several orders from judges barring Prater from carrying firearms.
The Secret Service met with Prater's family on Sept. 19 and family members described him as having a history of mental illness and repeatedly threatening people, including former President George W. Bush in 2004, authorities say.
Young noted that Prater had been treated for mental illness and was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic.
Federal authorities took custody of Prater on Monday. He was not listed among the Kenton County Jail inmates Wednesday afternoon (Fox News, 2012).

AP: Suspect In Foiled Fed Bank Plot Considered Obama As Target
Date:
October 17, 2012
Source:
My Fox Orlando

Abstract:
Federal agents and detectives arrested a man who allegedly tried to blow up a van outside the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The man, Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, 21, a Bangladeshi national who lives in Queens, parked a van full of what he thought was a 1,000-pound bomb outside the Fed building on Liberty Street in Lower Manhattan -- just blocks from the World Trade Center site -- Wednesday morning and set off a cell phone detonator, according to the Department of Justice.
But the van did not blow up because the so-called explosives were not real and were provided by an undercover FBI agent, the DOJ said.
A law enforcement official says President Barack Obama was also a potential target for Nafis, reported the Associated Press on Thursday.
The official stressed that the suspect never got beyond the discussion stage.
The official was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation and talked to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Authorities have said the Bangladeshi man snared in an FBI terror sting also considered targeting the New York Stock Exchange before picking one of New York City's most fortified sites.
"Attempting to destroy a landmark building and kill or maim untold numbers of innocent bystanders is about as serious as the imagination can conjure," Acting Assistant Director Mary Galligan said in a statement. "The defendant faces appropriately severe consequences. It is important to emphasize that the public was never at risk in this case, because two of the defendant's 'accomplices' were actually an FBI source and an FBI undercover agent. The FBI continues to place the highest priority on preventing acts of terrorism."
The suspect and the agent had been planning the attack for months, the DOJ said. Agents with the Joint Terrorism task Force closely monitored Nafis and the plot.
Nafis came to the United States in January 2012 to recruit people to form a terrorist cell and to carry out an attack on U.S. soil, the DOJ said. He claimed to have ties to al-Qaeda and sought out al-Qadea contacts in America to help him plan the attack, authorities said.
He wrote a statement that he intended to release after the attack to claim responsibility, authorities said. In the statement, Nafis wrote that he wanted to "destroy America" by targeting its economy, the DOJ said. He also quoted from Osama bin Laden in justifying what he assumed with be the killing of women and children, federal officials said.
Authorities charged Nafis with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to provide material support to al-Qaeda Authorities said the public was never in any danger.
Nafis came to the U.S. on a student visa to study at a college in Missouri, said NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly. He studied at Southeast Missouri State University from January to May, the AP reported.
"To have someone come into the country in January, plot this thing going forward and actually make that chilling step of pressing that cell phone battery to do the detonation, that's the thing that Americans need to focus on. It's still there," former NYS Homeland Security Advisor Michael Balboni told Good Day New York on Thursday (My Fox Orlando, 2012).

Secret Service Said To Have Foiled Several Assassination Attempts On President Obama And Mitt Romney During The Campaign, But Report Is Under Scrutiny
Date:
November 8, 2012
Source:
NY Daily News

Abstract:
President Obama and Mitt Romney may have had something much more serious to lose on this year’s campaign trail than the presidency: life itself.
A number of assassination plots were thwarted by Secret Service agents over the course of this campaign, according to one reporter, whose findings have come under scrutiny from the media in the wake of Tuesday’s election.
In an article about Romney’s intensive security detail written by GQ’s Marc Ambinder, the journalist said that in the Secret Service’s busiest year yet, “Several assassination plots were nipped in the bud.”
This claim was almost immediately questioned by members of the media, especially as Ambinder took to Twitter to suggest that more information might come out in a print edition of the article.
Politicker reached out to Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan for further details on the reported plots.
“We didn’t work with Marc Ambinder on that article, so I don’t know what his sourcing is,” Donovan told the publication.
When Politicker contacted the author, he eventually responded but without many juicy details.
“There was that guy who shot at the White House from across the ellipse, and then the soldiers arrested for plotting the assassination of the president and others,” Ambinder wrote, ticking off a list of public-record assassination attempts.
“I don’t know any details about any non-public attempts, if there were any,” he wrote.
Whether someone attempted to kill him as a presidential hopeful or not, Romney -- apparently known as “Javelin” by the Secret Service -- will return to post-candidate life without the massive security detail that followed his every move on the trail.
Obama, whose detail will, of course, continue, is known by the Service as “Renegade” (NY Daily News, 2012).

Facebook Obama Slur: 'Assassination' And 'N-Word' Rant Causes Stir
Date:
November 10, 2012
Source:
Examiner

Abstract:
A private Facebook slur about President Barack Obama got a California woman fired and reported to the U.S. Secret Service. Denise Helms' inflammatory and racist comments prompted management at Cold Stone Creamery to terminate her employment over the offensive comments and public backlash. Here is when freedom of speech comes at a consequence.
In its Nov. 8 report, ModBee noted that the Turlock woman, 22, posted a racial slur on her Facebook page shortly after Obama won back the White House in a second term over Mitt Romney.
Helms, who is obviously not a fan of the president posted this comment that has her in hot water:
"And another 4 years of the (n-----). Maybe he will get assassinated this term..!!" (actual tweet here)
As one can imagine, the comments went viral all over the Internet and social media. While some hailed her for speaking freely, many others thought she had gone too far, was a racist and should be reported to authorities for her alleged threats to Barack Obama.
"The assassination part is kind of harsh. I'm not saying like I would go do that or anything like that, by any means, but if it was to happen, I don't think I'd care one bit," Helms said when asked by a Fox 40 news reporter.
In defiant fashion, when Helms was asked about the Facebook slur towards President Barack Obama -- specifically the use of the "N-Word" -- she suggested it was an appropriate reference.
According to Secret Service agent from the Sacramento office, threats against the president are a felony under U.S. Code Section 871. While it is not known if these are considered "credible" threats, arguably they are inflammatory and unsettling.
Ironically, Wednesday after Election Day, Denise had somewhat of a change of heart about the Facebook Obama slur.
She sat down with a reporter and denied being a racist, citing her frustration about the election results. Additionally, she said she did not really want the president to be assassinated because he as two daughters to care for.
On the woman being fired over the slur about Obama on Facebook:
"We found her comments to be very disgusting, and they do not reflect our opinions here. We never saw anything from her at work like those comments," said Turlock Cold Stone Creamery store director Chris Kegle.
Obviously, this case can be spun in various ways. While many people are frustrated and left racist election tweets after Romney lost, they didn't all resort to suggesting President Obama lose his life.
This country is built on the Bill of Rights and how it grants everyone freedom of speech. However, this is likely an example of when the line should be drawn in the sand, especially when racism and violence are used to get one's point across.
Was the Facebook Obama slur racist and threatening, or just a young woman expressing herself? (Examiner, 2012).

20-Year-Old Accused Of Threatening To Kill President Obama, Kill Trick-Or-Treaters At Colorado School
Date:
November 14, 2012
Source:
Fox News

Abstract:
A 20-year-old Colorado man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to assassinate President Obama and go on a shooting rampage during a Halloween event at a local high school.
KDVR reports the Secret Service took Mitchell Kusick into custody on Friday after learning he had spoken of wanting to kill the president. Investigators say Kusick talked to them about the president’s schedule and planned to carry out the assassination during one of Obama’s campaign stops in Colorado.
Additionally, a federal criminal complaint charges Kusick was planning to open fire on children at a trick or treat event at a high school in a Denver suburb on Halloween. Kusick allegedly stole a rifle from a relative in order to carry out the plot.
Federal investigators say Kusick confessed he had been homicidal for years, saying he was obsessed with the Columbine High School massacre and the recent kidnap and murder of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway in Westminster.
“Kusick stated he is very interested in snipers and has studied the James Holmes Aurora shooting,” the federal complaint says according to KDVR. “Kusick admitted to following the incident and stated his mother is in the mental health field and was a first responder to the scene.”
Kusick is being held on suspicion of a federal charge of threats against a president. He identified himself as a student at Colorado Mesa University in western Colorado, investigators said (Fox News, 2012).

Abstract:
An internal investigation is planned at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office after one of its detectives resigned for making threatening comments about President Barack Obama.
Sheriff John Rutherford told The Florida times-Union the remarks made by detective Sam Koivisto were not a legitimate threat, but they were unacceptable workplace conduct.
The U.S. Secret Service is also investigating.
Koivisto was a 26-year veteran with the sheriff's office. He quit in the face of the internal affairs probe following his statements about the election. Comments were also made about the Democratic Party.
Authorities have not released further details about the comments made. Koivisto could not be reached for comment (Fox News, 2012).

Suspected insurgents have detonated an improvised bomb that derailed a train and killed two railway guards in Thailand's south, hours before President Barack Obama visits the country.
The Sunday attack in Rue So district of Narathiwat province disrupted train services in the three violence-plagued southernmost provinces.
Police Col. Dulyaman Yaena said an unknown number of insurgents exchanged gunfire with other railway guards before fleeing.
Two railway guards died from wounds caused by the explosion while 15 others were hospitalized.
More than 5,000 people have been killed since an Islamist insurgency erupted in the region in 2004.

Florida Police Officer Quits After Obama Assassination Comments
Date:
November 22, 2012

Fox News

Abstract:
A Florida police officer quit after admitting he told colleagues that he would volunteer to assassinate President Obama.
Sam Koivisto, of the Jacksonville Police Department, told the Florida Times-Union on Wednesday that his comments had been blown out of proportion and that he had planned to retire in five months anyway.
The 57-year-old retired earlier this month while facing an internal investigation into his comments to other officers after the election. He told them that if an order came to kill Obama, he "wouldn't mind being the guy."
"If an order was given to kill Obama or something, then I wouldn’t mind being the guy," he told colleagues, according to the newspaper.
When questioned by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office integrity unit, he said he also didn't care if a nuclear explosion killed everyone in the Northeastern U.S because they supported Obama. He told the investigators his comments were hyperbole and not actual threats (Fox News, 2012).
