The bible and ancient legends have Leviathan living in the sea.
Is he still there?

Isa 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that [is] in the sea.

Job mentions leviathan being caught with a hook, using fishing terminology.

Job 41:1 Canst you draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord [which] you let down?

The bible also mentions that the Beast comes out of the sea

Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Notice that the beast has multiple heads.
The psalms also mentions that leviathan had multiple heads.

Psa 74:13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou broke the heads of the dragons in the waters.
Psa 74:14 You brake the heads of leviathan in pieces, [and] gave him [to be] meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

This is a mysterious statement, because being given dragon meat is not mentioned in Exodus, yet it is recorded here by King David.
While I always had assumed the beast description was symbolic in Revelation, is it possible a real beast – the leviathan – still resides in the sea, ready to emerge and terrorize the world, being Satan himself, in his true, fallen, reptile form?

In Revelation 8-9, it describes the 7 trumpets of God, where a mountain of fire is hurled into the sea, destroying a third of the sea, and making the waters bitter.
Right after this, the bottomless pit opens up and demons come out to torment mankind.

Is there a connection between disturbing the sea, and the appearance of the demons?
Is there something under the ocean we should be aware of?
Ancient and even more modern legends describe sea monsters.

While reptiles are part of God’s natural creation, is it possible that Satan is among them in hidden form, especially in the sea, where he can remain undisturbed until his time comes?

For more than a thousand years ancient and medieval mariners often returned from their voyages with frightening tales of encounters with, or sightings of, large and dangerous sea monsters.
These were amazing creatures, not only because of their size and ferocity, but also because they would at times break the surface of the water, indicating that they were actually air breathers. This, along with their unique anatomy, made it clear that these strange creatures were not a species of fish.
It was soon recognized that they were some kind of unusual marine reptile.
Consequently, they were often referred to as sea dragons.
As time went by, fewer and fewer of these unique and fearsome creatures were seen.
Eventually there were only the stories from olden days. Finally the stories themselves began to lose their credibility and were relegated to the realm of legends or mythology.
However, in the 1800s a young English girl, Mary Anning of Lyme Regis, England, discovered the fossil remains of some strange and very ancient marine animals.
The pay she received from various paleontologists motivated her to keep looking. She found so many that she actually was able to make a living from the discovery and sale of these fossils.
In time the fossils she found received their modern names of ichthyosaurs, meaning "fish lizards," and plesiosaurs, meaning "near lizards."
One of the reasons that sea dragons were seen less frequently is because they were able to stay underwater for long periods of time made possible by the design of their ribs.
The ribs of the right side were united to those of the left by a set of intermediate bones which came to be referenced as the "sterno-costal" arcs. "
This structure was probably subservient to the purpose of introducing to their bodies an unusual quantity of air; the animal by this means being enabled to remain long beneath the water, without rising to the surface for the purpose of breathing."
Ichthyosaurs had both paddles (flippers) and fins.
The fins probably were used for stabilization and steering and the paddles for lift, but neither were used for propulsion.
This was accomplished by the tail, swishing back and forth rapidly which may have allowed it to swim at speeds up to 40 miles per hour.

While the location of Satan, if existing in a physical body, is only speculation, it is interesting that the sea could provide a habitat for him.
The sea allows for the unencumbered growth of large creatures, such as whales.
The article above speaks of dragon fossils found in the sea.
Could there be any dragons left?
In the end times, Satan takes on the form of a dragon during some of the events predicted.

While I do not really want to be here to see such a thing, it would be an amazing, and terrifying sight to see Satan himself arise out of the sea, and unleash his evil wrath upon the inhabitants of the earth.

Satan is also a spirit.
So, it is obvious he can be “located” elsewhere – on and under earth, and in the heavens as well.

The antichrist figure predicted is described by his behaviors on earth, but not his physical appearance.
I wonder what he really looks like.
