Israel Just Snubbed Obama in a Massive Way? Good.

As America faces the growing Ebola crisis emanating from West Africa, President Obama has decided to send nearly 4,000 US troops to the region, an inconceivably larger number of troops than those fighting the threat posed by the radical Islamic State.
The Ebola virus has been around for some time now, and up until recently was contained within a relative handful of countries in West Africa.

However, Obama did away with regulations that were designed to keep Ebola contained and quarantined within that region of Africa.  The disease is now spreading, and has finally arrived in America.
According to WND, UN Ambassador Samantha Power recently asked numerous countries to assist the US in combating Ebola, but has yet to receive any commitments.  In fact, Israel pretty much told them flat out, no.
Critics immediately pointed out the fact that the Obama administration cancelled all flights in and out of Israel for a brief time during the recent conflict with Hamas.  Conversely, nothing has been done to restrict travel to the US from the Ebola ravaged areas.

Officially, Israel’s Foreign Ministry politely declined the invitation to send it’s troops into a festering disease zone.  Their statement read:
“The Foreign Ministry recommended the Defense Ministry respond positively to the Americans’ request, even though it was a complex mission, which runs the risk of infection for medical crews, who would have been forced to wear full [hazmat] suits. … However, after examining the request and mission details, the Defense Ministry decided against Israel’s participation, saying there was no feasible way to provide for the safety of the Israeli doctors and medical crews, which then could return to Israel and further spread the virus.”
Behind the scenes though, the response was reportedly a bit harsher, with Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon allegedly saying, “The hell I’ll expose my troops to Ebola.”
Supposedly the US and UN wanted Israel to contribute some of their field hospital expertise, which is widely regarded as some of the best in the world.  The purported reason for sending military troops to the West African region is to assist in the building of hospitals and other medical facilities.
What still isn’t understood, and has yet to be adequately addressed, is why the military has been tasked with this responsibility, when there are far greater threats that require the attention of the military.
Please share this on Facebook and Twitter if you agree with Israel’s response, and see no reason to unnecessarily risk the health of our military forces by placing them in a hot zone without adequate protection or training against a deadly virus.
