Terror gangs said to be planning to attack US and Israeli embassies in Cairo
Egyptian newspaper prints intelligence documents listing the names of Gazan and Egyptian Islamists who are preparing the strikes

Gazan and Egyptian terrorist
elements are planning to attack the US and Israeli embassies in Cairo,
according to Egyptian intelligence documents published on Tuesday by
Egypt’s Al-Masry al-Youm daily.
The
documents reportedly list by name various Gazan and Egyptian global
jihad members who are planning the terror strikes against the embassies,
Israel’s Channel 10 TV said..
The US Embassy building in downtown Cairo, one of the largest American embassies in the world, is heavily fortified.
In 2011, the Israeli Embassy was looted by a mob during the Egyptian revolution, leading to a mutual withdrawal of ambassadors.
Although Israel has since returned an ambassador to Egypt, there is no permanent embassy location in Cairo. Last week, Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi appointed a new Egyptian ambassador to Israel.
According to an anonymous security official
quoted in al-Masry al-Youm, warnings of the imminent attack were
distributed throughout the Egyptian security establishment.
The source also said that Egyptian military
intelligence is on the trail of more than 20 Islamic militants operating
in Sinai, who plan to bomb police and security sites in the peninsula.
On August 5, Sinai-based terrorists killed 16
Egyptian border guards in an attack near the Israel border. The
terrorists were killed by Israeli forces when they then smashed across
the border into Israel. Israel had given Egypt intelligence warnings
ahead of that attack.
