Major explosion, injuries reported at Peterborough facility

100 firefighters sent to NH Ball Bearings

PETERBOROUGH, N.H. —An explosion was reported Monday afternoon at New Hampshire Ball Bearings in Peterborough.
Little information was immediately available. A four-alarm response was triggered, and officials said multiple injuries were reported.

Crews from more than a dozen towns, including about 100 firefighters were headed to the scene.
Eight ambulances were called to the area, and local hospitals were asked to stage for possible hazmat patients. Keene Fire Department's hazmat team was responding to the scene.
Police advised drivers to avoid Route 202.
