President Obama Joe Biden Announce Civilian Disarmament Program

Speaking before his boss, Vice President Joe Biden introduced his gun control plan by describing the Sandy Hook slaughter. “The world has changed and it’s demanding action,” Biden opined. Biden introduced the expected raft of proposals including Executive Actions. “Some [gun control measures] will happen immediately. Some will take time.” After citing the 900 people who’ve died “at the end of the gun” since Sandy Hook, the President lobbied for a Congressional ban on “military-style assault weapons” (“weapons for the theater of war don’t belong in a movie theater”), a ten-round limit on ammunition magazines and “universal background checks” for all firearms transactions. After appealing to gun owners—and making snarky remarks about the NRA, the firearms industry and pro-gun pundits—Obama concluded by signing 23 Executive Actions. Post on the Executive Orders to follow . . .
