Formulas for Home Constructed Rocket Engines

This manual completely covers the workings of hobby rockets and how to get the best performance from them – including the authors personal experiments.
The first method we ever tried was the good old fashioned paper tube with clay nozzles and packed gunpowder.  We found, for several reasons that this simply did not work.
About then we were experimenting with pipe bombs. After a lot of unsuccessful attempts with various types of materials for creating the pipes, we discovered PVC pipe and our most successful form was born.
In Formulas for Home Constructed Rocket Engines, we will learn formulas, tools and materials needed and the procedure with correlated figures for you to create the rocket engine.
Following topics are covered in this manual:
  • Idea of making the rocket
  • History of our experimentation with rocket engines.
  • Formulas for gunpowder and rocket fuel
  • Try to make the powder yourself
  • The Engine- Materials and Tools needed
  • Procedure
  • Alternative Building Methods
  • Launch Techniques
  • Ignition Techniques
  • General Safety Stuff
